"Home":Kenji slid the door open slowly, somewhat hoping that the man on the other side would be sleeping. But, green eyes stared back at him as he looked in the room. It was true. He was back. Kenji cast his tear filled eyes to the floor.
"I...I don't believe it..." He wiped away his tears and looked up with a chuckle. "Not even death can keep you down, Take-jii." Kenji stepped a bit closer to the bed. "Part of me was hoping that the nurses I walked past were talking about a family member of yours. Little did I think...It would be you."
Kenji brushed his hair from his face and smiled. "I'm home, Take-jii.

Juushiro smiled and set his book down. “I’m glad you’re back, Kenji. You worried many people with your disappearance.” He held out his hands and embraced the young man when he went into his arms, holding onto him as a few tears fell onto his kimono. He noticed the lack of the man's arm but did not comment on it. Kenji would speak about it when he was ready.
A few minutes later, he chuckled. “Tell me, Tiger, did you get taller still while you were away?”

Kenji chuckled. "I'm older than Sojiro, you know. You don't have to do that." He nodded. "But, yes, Take-jii. I've gotten taller. And, wiser. I have a family now. A wife and a son." Kenji blushed as he spoke them. "Keiji, he's only a month old but he's got quite the personality. He looks just like dad. You wouldn't believe it."
Juushiro laughed and shook his head. "You're telling me you found a wife and you have a little monster just like you to pounce on me?"
Kenji nodded. "Yeah." He scratched the back of his head. "Too bad Kyo-jii couldn't meet him. He would have a ball spoiling the kid." Kenji reached for his arm and rubbed it as he sat on the bed's edge. "When you're up to it, Take-jii, I'd like for you to meet them."

“I am fit enough to see them whenever you wish to bring them in, Kenji, and I honestly can’t wait to see which lovely lady could tame another Urahara and if your adorable bundle really can look like Kisuke at such a young age.”
He paused and his eyes gleamed with amusement. “I would go with you to see them now, but I recently left the division and am on close watch for my indiscretions." His smile grew. "But that is not due to my illness. When the gods returned me, they honored me further by taking that away. It is merely strength I lack, nothing more serious. So do not worry."

Kenji let a few more tears fall, as he looked to Ukitake. "You know, there wasn't a day that went by where I didn't think about you guys. I really did miss you. Mom and dad, the most. I felt like I had disappointed them. And, Kita...I felt like she was just so angry with me for leaving..." He looked down at his hand as he flexed his fingers.
"You know...I was in a dark place for awhile there, Take-jii. A really dark place. I could have used all of this support then." Kenji looked to Ukitatke. "Why didn't anyone come look for me, Take-jii?"
"People who do not wish to be found, tend to make it hard to do so."
Kenji nodded after a few moments. "Well, I just wanted to say hello, Take-jii. I need to get back to the First Division to help Kita find a way to get Kadaj back."

Juushiro's eyes narrrowed and he straightened up in his bed. He did not like this. "Kenji, what do you mean get Kadaj back?" he asked, keeping his voice neutral. "Kita has been in Las Noches with Vale for the last couple weeks. Why would she return without him? What happened?" He pushed his blanket off his legs and turned to stand. "From what mom and dad told me, so far, Aizen is dead. And, Las Noches has fallen." Kenji looked to Ukitake. "Kita did it. But, when mom, Ryuko and myself arrived at the office, Kita said Alister took Kadaj."Juushiro scarcely heard about the end of Sousuke. He was more worried about this family's state. "It's a good thing you are home if what you say is true." He pushed himself to his feet. "If your arm won't hurt, I can lean on you and join you at First Division." Kenji chuckled. "My left arm is quite strong, Take-jii. And, don't worry about the right. I am quite able bodied." He walked over and stood next to Ukitate. Allowing the man to put as much weight on him as necessary, Kenji aided in helping him walk toward the door. "Do you need anything from the room before we go?""No," Juushiro replied, now leaning on the boy that had become a man. "I am not on any medication. Start slowly and I will adjust to the new rhythm of the shunpo." Kenji nodded and the two left the room. ~ END RP ~ "A Father's Last Act II":

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 314 "Unbreakable": Toshiro Hitsugaya laid in a hospital bed. His eyes weren't open and he could barely feel anything, but he knew it was the Fourth Division medical ward because of the smell. He'd been here so many times visiting Momo during all the times she was here. He knew this smell anywhere.
Momo. Rangiku.
If he was in Fourth Division, then somehow, by some miracle--or curse--he had survived his battle with the ayakashi. The last thing he remembered before he blacked out was the blurry face of the ayakashi above him. He remembered feeling weightless and then very very heavy. Like he was trapped. Now, laying in bed, he just felt numb. He cracked open his eyes slowly to see the ceiling above him. Attached to his face was a mask that was helping him breathe. When his vision focused, he realized he only had one eye open. The other was covered, he assumed in bandages. As he slowly mentally assessed himself, his feeling slowly returned. He felt the familiar itch of bandages covering him.
He let out a sigh only to wince as his chest tightened and the sensation of hot knives shot through his lungs. For a moment he regretted allowing himself to wake up. He should have just stayed blissfully ignorant in his sleep. He could barely move, it hurt to breathe, and he doubted anyone was looking for him. The only two that would were gone. And the third... he had no idea where she was.
He thought of Kenji. He wondered if he had made it away alright. He remembered himself giving his title to Kenji in what he thought were his last moments before he used the Ice of Ages. And now here he was. Alive.
Well... shit.
He closed his eyes and looked within himself, reaching out to his own soul. Hyorinmaru... are you there?
There was no response from the dragon. Toshiro felt himself sinking into the bed as if falling through a void. He felt empty. The hole in him that Hyorinmaru filled was vacant. Loneliness set in like a dark shadow engulfing him. Everything he had was gone. His friends, his sister, his title, and now his partner. He had no idea what the world outside of his room window was like. He couldn't focus enough to let in any reiatsu to try and piece together the state of Soul Society from his place in bed. The only thing he could do was wait until one of the members of Fourth Division came in and discovered he was awake so he could find out what had transpired after he blacked out.
Even so, he still couldn't fathom how he made it out of the battle alive. Even having lost everything important to him, even laying in bed unable to move, he still proved to be unbreakable.
Right. After everything he'd been through. After everyone he'd fought and all the blood, sweat, and tears he had given to help bring peace to the realms and to those important to him, he was still alive. He knew he should be grateful for his life, but with the things most important to him gone... he had no idea where his place was. And yet he could hear Momo and Rangiku scolding him, telling him that he still had purpose. He just had to find it.
"Just... let me... sleep..." He managed to mumble out, saying to no one in particular. He close his eye, hoping that sleep would find him again until he was well enough to think clearly again. Moved

"Unbreakable": (continue) Once reaching Toshiro's room, Isane quietly pushed the door open and peeked inside. There in his bed, Toshiro lay looking up at the ceiling. Isane stepped in smiling brightly at him. "Captain Hitsugaya, how are you feeling?"Toshiro's eyes widened when his head lifted to see none other than Isane step into the room. "I--Isane." He blinked still in disbelief. "How? When, and what about the others?"Isane smiled softly and stepped up to his bed. "I don't know about the others, but I just appeared a few minutes before I came to see you." She opened his chart to look at what they were dealing with. Other than the obvious that she could plainly see in front of her. "Do you remember what happened to you before you woke here in the medical ward?"

Toshiro turned his head to look away from Isane, looking up at what little of the blue sky he could see out the window near his bed. "I was... fighting an ayakashi. In Inuzuri. Kenji Urahara and I. I used the last of my power to try and bring him down."
Toshiro blinked, then turned his head back to Isane. "Wait. You said you appeared. What do you mean? What's going on?"

"That's a question I would like answered to. I don't know. One minute we were escaping the maze in Las Noches. Then the next I was here in division 4." Isane explained as she closed his chart.
Toshiro tried to focus his mind, thinking of an explanation for why they were suddenly transported not only across a large distance, but across realms. Then suddenly his good eye widened. He tried to sit up in bed but a wave of searing pain and nausea overcame him. "Kotetsu, we... What if this is Aizen? Kyoka Suigetsu--!"
"I thought of that, but is that a question Aizen would allow us to ask, not just ourselves but ask anyone. The last thing he would want is us planting doubt the second he cast the illusion." Isane countered.

Toshiro sighed and winced. "I suppose that's right... But..." He closed his eye and grunted. "No. Entertaining that thought would only cause that line of thinking to spiral into oblivion."
He went silent for a moment before speaking once more. "When you find out what's going on, please come and tell me." He tried to lift his arm but barely made it two inches off the bed. "I can't exactly go and investigate myself, and I'd rather not lay here for weeks wondering what's going on."

“You know…” Isane dared to offer a quick fix, remembering the two times she had heard about him trying to kill this person. “I could get Kita in to heal you. You would be up and around in a few hours.”
Toshiro thought of Kita and for a moment he felt hopeful. That hope quickly dissipated, however. "If you can find her, she can do as she pleases. That is if Aizen has not put her back in his clutches. Again." Though he wouldn't admit it aloud, he did want to see her. She was his closest friend that was still alive. He didn't want to lose her too.
Isane nodded her head slowly, "I will see if I can get in contact with her. I am sure she will come tend to your injuries." She patted the forearm of his good arm. "Rest now, and I will check back in on you in a few hours."

Toshiro gave a quiet grunt then turned to look out the window once more, looking up at the sky. He closed his eye, trying to slip back into sleep before Isane or the medical staff came to bother him again. Though if Isane found Kita, and if she even wanted to come and heal him, he would be on the fast track to recovery soon enough.
The sooner he got out of the hospital, the sooner he could begin to move on.

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 319 "The Way of Healing": (Continued) Toshiro woke up an hour later feeling just as groggy as when he woke up the first time, if not more so. He felt stiff and achy and any little movement pulled at his wounds making him wince. If Kita was going to show up, then he hoped she showed up soon. It had been a very long time since he saw her last, and things had happened since then that he rather not think about, but he had to admit it would be good to see her again.
Just as she entered his mind, he felt her presence come within the grounds of Fourth Division. He could also feel Kenji with her as well. He assumed Kenji had come to discuss his role in the Gotei after Toshiro's not-so-dying declaration. He refrained from taking a deep breath to let out a sigh of tension and instead opted for a tense grunt, his brow furrowing. He tried to focus on the thought that he would soon be up and walking after Kita healed him.

Kita along with Kinji walked silently into Toshiro's room, they were not sure of his status if he would be awake or asleep. Isane told them that when she left him he was awake, but with the medication, he was on he might have fallen back to sleep.
When they entered the room, Kita's heart sank. He was a mess he was bandaged from head to toe a bandage over his right eye. She did not even want to know what his body looked like under those bandages. As the door closed, Toshiro's attention was caught. Though he did not look their way.
"Kita. Kenji?" he called both of their names. He couldn't see them because of his bandaged eye, but he knew it was them.
Kita could say nothing in fear he would hear the shakiness of her voice, so she only hummed in response. This was her fault he lay in this bed injured like this, and it took everything in her not to beg for his forgiveness. They stepped up to the bedside, Kita putting on a brave face and gently took his bandaged hand in hers.
