“Drowning the Pain”:
Rangiku had spent three days reflecting on the loss of her child, or what she was made to believe was a child. She hoped the time with an old friend would help her move over this, but the more she watched Ichigo and Evita together as a family, even with the issues they were having, they were a family. Something she wanted, something she had always wanted, but the man she wanted that with had fallen for another.
One that was not scared to stand by his side and fight, even if it was wrong, the other woman was there for him. Something she could not be. Times she blamed herself, others she blamed him, and when there was doubt on who to blame, she blamed it all on Aizen. With a heavy sigh, she lifted her eighth saucer of sake letting it roll down the back of her throat. She lowered the saucer to the table and filled it once more, but all that was left in the sake bottle was a few drops. She slammed the bottle to the table as she looked to the bartender.
“Bring me another!” She bellowed in a drunken stupor as she lifted the bottle and pounded it on the table when the bartender did not respond.
Finally looking her way the bartender shook his head. “I think you have had enough, Miss. That’s your third bottle. I am shocked you’re not passed out.” He walked over to the table to get the saucer and bottle from her as she shot up out of her chair.
“I will tell you…” she stammered, then pointed at him, her hand still wrapped around the bottle. “When I have had…” her hand with the bottle in it lifted to her face as she covered her mouth with the back of her hand and she started to giggle and waver where she stood. “Enough.”
She staggered a little more as she giggled. “I remember when I could--” she hiccupped, “up--keep up-- with my Captain -- Commander.” She giggled some more staggering back into her chair. “My Captain don’t…” she hiccupped again, “drink.” She then started to fall backward as the bartender quickly grabbed her arm to steady her.
“I think I need to call you a cab, Miss.” The Bartender told her.
Quickly Rangiku lifted her phone from her pocket and shoved it in the bartenders face. “I don’t need a cab!” She practically yelled at him pulling the phone back to look at it herself. She brought it closer to her face then pulled it away as she squinted her eyes. “I got friends!” She shoved the phone back into the guys face smashing it against his cheek.
The bartender sighed, sitting her down in the chair and took her phone from her. “Is there anyone you want me to call for you? A husband, boyfriend, fri--”
Rangiku looked up at the guy with sad eyes as her head shook and a lonely tear rolled down her cheek, suddenly she burst out in tears. Her hands covering her face as she blubbered out. “I am all alone.”
The bartender sighed heavier feeling a little sorry for the woman. He then lifted her phone and opened her contacts to see who he might be able to call. Finding a number with the name Captain Shiba, he dialed it thinking that it was the Captain she was talking about. A deep male’s voice picked up.
“Hello.”
“Hello, Captain sir. You don’t know me, but I have one of your officers here at my bar. She is really sozzled. She did not want me to call her a cab, so she gave me her phone to call someone, but when I ask her who to call she broke down into tears.”
Rangiku shot up almost falling over as she grabbed the phone from the guy. “I want my sword, Captain! Bring me my sword! I am going to kick Ichimaru’s ass for what he did to me! That asshole! I hate him!”
