Hinamori looked up at her captain with a look of surprise and confusion. "Fifteen minutes for all this? I'd have to average almost five pages a minute. And you're not even reading that book. Are you really going to sit there the whole time?"
She straightened the files she was working on and set it in the complete pile. She dipped her pen in the inkwell and continued working.
Her captain could be really difficult when he wanted to be.

Shinji grinned as she started working again. “I am too reading this book. Who said you had to start from the beginning to enjoy it? And,” he waved his free hand, “I never said you would get to finish it. I said that is when you will take a break, Hina-chan. The paperwork will keep, but your body needs nutrition.”

At this point, Hinamori knew it was pointless to argue with him. When he was like this, there was no moving him. She sighed and continued working.
"I take it you also don't have to have it right side up to read it, right?" When he blinked she said, "the book is upside down."

Shinji blinked again and then chuckled. “Well, will you look at that. All the training with my cranky zanpakuto actually paid off,” he declared.
Hinamori shook her head, not stopping to say anything else.
After a few more minutes had passed and he’d heard another sign, Shinji closed the book and reached underneath her windowsill, setting a peach in front of her. “Take a break,’ he ordered.

Hinamori looked down at the peach with a frown. She stared at it for quite a while before sighing one last time and setting her pen down. She walked over to her desk and pulled out a small knife. She peeled and cut the peach, saving the pit to dry and plant out in the garden. When she tasted one of the slices, she found it was very sweet. That sweetness reminded her of who she used to be, before Koga, before Aizen (that is, Aizen from the first time around when he played everyone for a fool). That person she used to be was so far away now she could barely remember her. However she did know that she was a lot like the peach.
When she finished the fruit, she turned to her captain and gave a slight smile. "Could you toss me another one?"

Shinji's smirk cracked into a smile and he ducked under again, holding two more. He tossed her one and bit into the second, wiping his chin of the juices before leaning back against the window to chew his bite more slowly. "Just remember that this is a snack, Hina-chan. You still-"
He halted as the same officer came back in with a large sack of hot food. The aroma of baked chicken, steamed rice, and swirling spices filled the room. Shinji grinned and rose from his spot, taking the bag from the officer. He stuffed the receipt and extra money into his pocket and set the food out on a small desk before looking back at his peach. Finishing it off, he tossed the pit outside and then wiped his fingers with one of the napkins. Then, he reached into the bag for the egg rolls. Eyes dancing in delight, he bit into it, enjoying the crunch.

Hinamori's jaw dropped at the food, blinking several times as Captain Hirako placed her portion in front of her. He dug in then mumbled something along the lines of "start eating" at her, his mouth filled with food.
"Captain, I'm really not that--" She was interrupted by an absurdly loud wambling from her empty stomach. Hirako cackled as Hinamori blushed and quickly grabbed her chopsticks, stuffing her face, if only to keep her stomach from embarrassing her again.

Shinji grinned, pleased with himself, as Hinamori started eating with gusto, not that birdseed nibbling she'd been at for the last few months. "That's better," he stated, and then pointed his chopsticks at her. "Slow down though. You'll give yourself a stomachache."

Hinamori gave him a look. "You wanted me to eat, so I'm eating. Don't complain how I'm eating." She eventually did slow down though, not wanting to be bedridden with an upset stomach. She stared at her rice distantly.
"Captain... thank you...."

Shinji paused in picking up another egg roll and rubbed his neck. "Yeah, you're welcome," he muttered, turning to look outside again.
He waited for her to start eating again and then cleared his throat. "Hina-chan, I am your captain. This is my job, whether I'm an oni captain or not." She giggled slightly. He picked up another piece of chicken and munched on it, mumbling beneath his breath about needing to find whoever gave him that name and decide their fate.

Hinamori shook her head, smiling slightly. She finished her meal and turned to her captain again. "There. I ate. Now can I go back to work?"

Shinji gave her his shark grin. "I don't know, can you?" he questioned her. As she blinked in confusion, he stood and gathered up their garbage, tossing her another peach. "Don't stay up too late. There's a party tonight." He looked down at her. "And it would be good for you."

Hinamori pouted at him. "You're not going to let me get out of that either are you?" She dipped her pen and signed off on the paper in front of her.

Shinji smirked and was about to reply when he heard a commotion outside of the room. He chuckled. "Incoming~" he called out, stepping over towards the door and catching Suzume just before she tripped once again. His foot propped up the files that nearly fell over as a present flew across the hall. "Hello, sparrow, you know I have never seen a girl in such a hurry to work more."

Suzume blushed deeply and then freed herself from Hirako's arms. She stumbled, righted herself again, and then ran into Momo's arms. "I get to help you, MOMO!" she called out, hugging her tightly, still feeling happy and overwhelmed even after a year. She had to keep her safe. Just as her glasses nearly fell off, Suzume released her friend and pushed them up. "Don't worry. I finished with Hitsugaya-kun's work already."
