1st Division, Command- This division is the head of Gotei 13 and the ones responsible for relaying Central 46 orders, dealing with Soul Society law and monitoring the other divisions. The captain of the 1st Division is also the head of all other captains and the leader of Gotei 13, given the rank of General Commander. Likewise, the 1st Division vice-captain is leader of the vice-captains and has authority over all vice-captains, next to their own captains and the General Commander. This division has the least number of shinigami. |

"Swallowing the Consequences" The Captain Commander entered his office with Juushiro behind him. The white-haired captain closed the door and recreated the barrier from before before taking a seat. Captain Hitsugaya stood rigid on the great balcony, hands crossed and expression beyond irritated. Ashimitsu, the hopeful captain, lay passed out on the hard floor near him. Shunsui sighed. "Hitsugaya-kun, you can take a seat as well. I know you weren't behind his actions today."

Hitsugaya turned to Kyoraku, his expression still slightly agitated. "No, it was my fault. As his captain, it's my job to keep tabs on him. He's been going back and forth between here in Soul Society and visiting Kita in the human realm so much, and he still doesn't have any regard for authority. I should have put a stop to this long ago".

Tsukiro's eyes fluttered open. He found himself staring at the ceiling. Confused, he blinked. However, when the memory of finding Kita gone resurfaced, he bolted upright. That's when he saw the three captains standing around him, each with either disappointed or angry (or both) expressions. He sighed and shifted around on the floor so his back was pressed against the railing. He crossed his arms, closing his eyes.
"Go ahead, start with the grilling. I did what I had to do, no matter how stupid. And I would do it again too."

After dropping Rangiku off in Division Four, Kisuke headed straight for Kyoraku's office. He had heard from Isane what had happened with Tsukiro busting in on the meeting.
When he made it to First Division. He was escorted by one of the guards to Kyoraku's office. They knocked at the door and waited for someone to reply.

"So you have no regret for your actions, do you, boy?" Shunsui stated slowly in his low baritone. He leaned down to the boy's level. "I wonder if you'll change your tune if Kisuke-san finds out that your actions may have alerted Kita's existence to Central 46. Most will listen when their commander tells them to be quiet about something, but Cpatain Mayuri of Twelfth does like his experiments."
He stood tall again as his guards knocked on the door. He continued talking down to the third seat. "If you had shut up when I advised you to, that small chance wouldn't exist," he emphasized. "Come in, Kisuke," Shunsui called out.

"Well, if the Gotei Thirteen had done something about Orihime and Karin the first time, maybe they wouldn't have chanced taking that other girl. I don't know about you or the other captains, but I don't sit around and wait for something else to happen before acting."
Tsukiro stood up and dusted himself off. "Aizen has taken too much from me already. I had to watch my mother and brother die because of him. I won't allow the same to happen to Kita, whether you or central like it or not. Believe me, if i knew how to open the garguanta, I wouldn't be here. Raining on your gossip parade in there was my only option."

Kisuke walking in the room his hat hiding any expression on his face, but his reaitsu said it all as he brushed past Kyoraku and the others. He grabbed hold of Tsukiro's kimono with one hand and drew back the other in a tight clenched fist.
Before anyone could stop him, Kisuke knocked Tsukiro back down on his ass as he landed hard back where he was sitting. Blood trickled down Tsukiro's chin from his busted mouth. Kisuke grabbed him again and jerked him to his feet bringing him to eye level.
"If Central finds out about Kita. Kiss her goodbye. We can save her from Aizen, but you won't save her from them."
Kisuke's words where harsh as he shoved Tsukrio back into the rail behind him and turned away from him.
"I have kept her secret away from everyone for meany years and you blow it wide open in a few seconds."

"Save it, Kisuke! I'm more worried about Aizen and what hell he's putting her through than about those old farts down in that cellar! I think she'd rather be in prison than being beaten and taken advantage of! I don't give a shit about central at this point! You know how I feel about Aizen! So don't be surprised now by the shit I do! I'm going to get her out of there, even if I have to die because of it! So either open the gate right now, or get out of my way."
The look in Tsukiro's eyes was one of rage and malice. They held not an ounce of fear or guilt or regret. The last time any of them had seen the look he had now was when he learned that Sosuke Aizen was responsible for the deaths of his family. When his eyes held this look, there was no getting through to him.
"And whether you like it or not, they would have found out soon anyway. With Kita in Las Noches, he is going to find out anyway. That's what kind of man he is. And when Aizen does find out, Central won't be far behind him, especially if he finds out how to use her powers."

"And you going to Las Noches will help her?" Shunsui inquired with a bite in his low voice. "If she's in trouble now, I wonder how much worse it will be when Sousuke, the king of breaking people, gets ahold of you, her so-called mate."
His eyes narrowed as he felt his usually mild temper rise in face of stubborn kid in front of him. "Right now, third seat Ashimitsu, even Kurosaki showed more intelligence than you in both of his hair-brain rescue ideas before Kisuke spiced them up, and you're doing exactly what the enemy would want you to, fool."

"Which is why the Gotei Thirteen should have gone there in the first place!!!" Tsukiro shouted at the top of his lungs. His face was beet red and a vein in his neck bulged.
"This military hasn't changed a bit since Yamamoto died!! You still sit on your asses and do nothing until it's too late! You wouldn't act when two humans get abducted, but only now when some Soul Reaper with God knows what abilities gets taken as well do you get up and start thinking, 'gee, maybe we should fix this!' You're all so hypocritical it makes me SICK!"
Tsukiro turned on his heel and stormed to the door. "And you wonder why we have people like Aizen among us. You're so ass backwards NONE of you can see straight."

By this time, Hitsugaya was just as seething as Tsukiro was. His head was bowed down and his shoulders shook. When the third seat finished his screaming, it was finally the captain's turn.
"Third Seat Ashimitsu!!! If you don't knock it off with this idiocy right now, you will NEVER have the chance to rescue Kita from Las Noches!!! You'll stay in the barracks until this mess is fixed and you'll NEVER see the human realm again!!!!!"

Tsukiro halted at the door mid step. He turned his head back to look at his captain.
"Rescue mission, huh?" He scoffed. "Then I suppose my plan worked. I didn't come here to make an ass of myself. I could care less about that. I came here because I knew if I raised enough hell and gave an incentive, something would have to be done. If I had just waited for you captains to finish, the meeting would still be in session as we speak."
He turned and leaned on the door, crossing his arms. "The lot of you already know that I don't do things the way the protocols and rule books say. The way politics goes, ALL OF THEM would be used up and dead before an effort to stop Aizen is made. So excuse me for wanting to act rather than sit on my ass and talk it over for hours, days and weeks at a time."
He closed his eyes, bowing his head. "I made a promise to Kita that I wouldn't let anything happen to her. I've already broken that promise several times. And for each second that goes by, I break it even more. She's all I have left. I can't afford to wait around with her there."

Though the word was uttered in that same tone, the reiatsu around Shunsui Kyoraku spiked, forcing the kid down onto the floor in a hunched position. He couldn't speak.
"If Yamamoto acted as you have endeavored to do, he never would have built the Gotei 13 to protect the Realms." Shunsui eyes were hard. "Politics have nothing to do with it taking time to arrange a counter strike and defense against Sousuke; it has to do with protecting as much as the Gotei 13 is able to when Sousuke is already ahead in the war. Time is how you survive. Act impulsively and you die. Your death will do nothing for Kita or heal the wounds left behind with your dead parents. It will only increase the wounds of those living. It will only create more pain."
He closed his eyes and reiatsu calmed, becoming less oppressive on Hitsugaya and Kisuke, though it kept the third seat pinned. "You are not the only one to suffer at Sousuke's hands. I'm afraid you won't be the last." He sighed. "And right now, it is he who is using you. Your fear for Kita has twisted with your long-held desire for vengeance, and you have lost control. I can't have a man like that on rescue team, neither can Kisuke." He paused. "Kita would have no chance of leaving the hell of Las Noches."
