As Sojiro’s vented his emotions, Raelin came to be more aware of her surroundings. The noise bounded against her eardrums like gongs. And she closed her eyes. Unsure if she had plunged into another vivid hallucination, she lifted her good arm and slowly pulled herself up, aided by her wings and the arm of the couch. The sun washed over her, and she flinched.
As the voices increased around her, her throat constricted.
Why was this happening when she had already given up her soul?

Isane rushed into the room as quickly as she could when Nanao told her what was going on. Four others of her medical division followed along behind them. One begging her to please slow down. She was due any time now in the next week and she did not need to drop that baby right now. She motioned to two of them to attended to Ichimaru and the Quincy. Another she had sent Sojiro's way. He was looking pale and not so well.
She and the other went to the aid of the Commander as Nanao and Kisuke stood back and let them do their thing.

Now that she had done her duty, Nanao reached for Kisuke’s arm and couldn't help but clutch it. There was more blood and old wounds on her captain’s unconscious body than healthy skin and it was almost too much to witness. She’d thought she’d lost him. And now he was back, but appearing even closer to death than he had been that horrifying day.
As the healers turned him over, Nanao’s stomach rolled and she turned away.
Her free hand spread over the growing child in her womb, attempting to anchor herself.
“Wha- what’s happened to him?” she mumbled.
Kadaj smiled at his grandfather and the kind lady. "Not worry," he lisped. "I fis it." He knelt down by the commander and put his hands on him. He frowned. "I fis it. Why not work, Kui? I fis it!"
Nanao swallowed and reached out to the child, ruffling his head with tears in her eyes.

Time stood still as the Godly gate opened in the First Division office of the Commander, her surrogate father. It closed as all eyes turned to her. A few in the room folded under her still released reiatsu. Quickly she pulled it back as her children quickly moved toward her.
"MOMMY!" Kadaj ran toward her, tears in his eyes. "I not fis it. Cap'n Coman'ner broke."
She bent down and swooped him up taking him in her arms hugging him tightly, more tears fell as she bit her bottom lip. She hugged her youngest tightly as she laid the ashes and shards of the former Sousuke Aizen and his zanpakuto on Kisuke's desk.
Kisuke looked the way of his desk at the two piles resting there. "Kita?"
"Your brother, and his zanpakuto. I thought you might like to have them for safe keeping." Kita stepped forward toward the group working on the former Captain Commander.
"Excuse me," she told them as they parted, letting her through. She knelt beside the man with Kadaj still in her arms. Taking Kadaj's little hand in hers she placed them both, hers and Kadaj's, on the former Commander. "I will help you." Her bottom lip quivered as she looked into his soft loving eyes. "There has been enough loss and death today." She let her powers of healing flow into Shunsui.
After a few seconds, Kita wavered as she caught herself from falling over.
"Mommy?" Kadaj said looking quickly to her.
"I am fine, sweetie. Just keep fixing the commander, Kadaj." She wiped away a tear as she felt a hand touch her shoulder from behind.

“I’m glad you stopped,” Sojiro murmured, keeping his voice carefully neutral. He didn’t know how he felt about his mother reducing a man, even a man like Sousuke Aizen, to dust, but he was glad she was back. “You’ve used too much of your powers already, and I don’t want to have to stop you again, like I have already done once before.” His mother gave a tired smile and then embraced him, too.
Sojiro’s frown deepened as she shook against him. He didn’t need to ask. She was trembling too much. Vale Tervaden or Seto Tetsuya was gone. He wrapped his arms tighter around her form. “I’m sorry, Mom…"
It seemed he never would be able to ask him those questions ... and his mother was alone, once again. He didn't know if his father could help this time. With the way Vale and he disliked each other. Kita's eldest son sighed.
It wasn't fair.

She pulled back from the embrace of her eldest son and looked the direction of Kisuke. "A few others that liked to cause us issues died along with Aizen. However, Sada was not one of them. Nor was Koga."
"So who died along with him?" Kisuke inquired.
"Loki and Teroa I know are dead. I burned Teroa to ash like Aizen and Sada ate Loki. I burned what was left. Many Arrancar and hundreds of faceless Hollow died as well. I attacked Gesshin, though I believe he lived, fleeing with his injuries." She looked to her eldest once more than back to Kisuke. "Las Noches is no more."

"You destroyed Las Noches?" Kisuke questioned, his hand sliding under his hat as he scratched the top of his head. "Though it will rebuild," he slipped into thought once more as he looked across the office.
"Maybe in centuries to come," Kita replied, "but what does it matter? Aizen is dead, Las Noches belongs to the Hollows. Let them find a new King or Queen and live their lives like they did before Aizen."
What do you mean in centuries to come? Las Noches is notorious for rebuilding within a few years if not days or hours." The medic from the fourth divisions head shook. "And leaving the Hollows be is foolish. They hate the Soul Reapers. Just because Aizen is gone does not mean they will stop attacking us or the humans."
Kisuke looked between Kita and the fourth division member. "Either way. Nothing about that realm can be ignored. Right now they are scattered from the attack from Kita, so we have sometime, but we need to find away to keep Las Noches from rebuilding." He looked pointedly at Kita, but said nothing.
His eyes then adverted to the others around the room. "Aizen is dead. Be it because of this reason or another, they will regroup. We have not seen the last of the Ayakashi or the Espada. They will counter."

"Let them." Kita eyes narrowed. "They will face the same fate as the others that dared to confront me. I grow tired of this. The same as everyone in the Soul Society. It is time the Hollows learn their place. My warning to them has been set in motion. Let them try to retaliate. I will enjoy sending them to Hell. Just like I did with the others."
Shunsui moaned weakly as her attention turned back to him. She withdrew her powers as well as Kadaj's little hand. "They can take it from here, sweetie."
She looked to Isane and gave her a weak smile. "He is stable and in your care now." She lifted Kadaj back into her arms and stood. Wavering slightly as she did, Sojiro steadied her as he stood next to her. Her head turned as she looked to Gin next then stepped that direction. Sojiro helping her as he held on to her around her waist and the arm closest to him.
"Excuse us," Kita told the group working on him. "I will tend to this one on my own."
"But Mom, you have done enough right now."
She looked to her oldest and gave him the same weak smile. "Not yet. Your father is still not with us."

Sojiro winced. The unfairness of the situation fate had dealt his mother as well as a parallel to the last time she had knelt down by his father clashed inside him. He tightened his grip on his mother. “He’s not going anywhere…. please don’t push yourself too far,” he whispered. He left the rest of his message unsaid.
We still need you.
She wasn't completely alone.

She cupped his cheek and smiled as she leaned into him and kissed his opposite cheek. "Stop worrying about us big girls. We can take care of ourselves." She kneeled down beside Gin, placing her hand to him, holding on to Kadaj with the other.
"What Teroa did will be easy for me to fix. Not so much for a Soul Reaper's healing powers. I only have to reverse the effects. He might still feel weak, but over all he will be fine. He will only need to restore his reiatsu," she looked back over her shoulder at Sojiro. "He should be him old self in a few days if not sooner... knowing this old dog." She looked back to Gin as he lay there pale and weak. It reminded her so much of when he first returned to her three years ago, a time she did not want to dwell on in thought or even talk about.
So much had happened between them. So much water had went under the bridge, but nothing she did ever severed the ties between them. Her heart still belonged to this man. Even if she made him, or others, believe otherwise. He would always be her guide through the darkness.

Sojiro blinked as his mother ran her fingers over his father’s silver hair, and it seemed that her smile grew just enough for her tired eyes to light up. He blinked and the change was gone. Maybe it was his eyes playing tricks on him, manifesting his hope. She'd just lost her husband and the father of the twins in her womb. The sight of his own father now was probably bittersweet at best.

Raelin watched the proceedings in the room in silence, vaguely convinced that they were real and not another torture device of Aizen’s or his demon, Sada Teruo. She’d found her pendant in her pocket a few minutes ago but hadn’t pulled it out. Or reacted to someone taking off her collar. She watched Kita kneel over the soul reaper she had saved for her twice and wondered what to do now. Her wings faded away.

Nanao could feel her fingers strangling the healer’s arm as he continued to hold her back from her captain commander. She couldn’t help it. Shunsui was right there, and she wasn’t allowed to touch him because they didn’t know what he would do when he woke up and she was pregnant.
She cursed the god who had visited her for the first time then sent an apology airborne. He had kept her from falling into a deep depression and becoming useless.
Finally, her eyes narrowed and she kicked at the healer’s shin. “Tell me when I can see him!’ she hissed. She pushed past the pack and left the room, heading to her own for a good cry.

Kisuke watched as Nanao stormed out of the office, he smiled warmly with a soft chuckle as he adjusted his hat. He felt bad for her that she could not be with the man of her heart, but over joyed to know the girl was no longer without him. He turned and looked at Kita as she healed Gin.
He walked over to her and lowered himself down next to her. He leaned forward and kissed her temple softly then whispered something to her for her ears only. She turned and looked at him with a nonchalant nod. He then rose and walked back over to his desk. Rubbing his chin he looked at the ashes of his brother and his blade. His fingers then snapped. He looked at the healers still working on Raelin.
"I will be right back. I need to get something to put these ashes in."
The ones in the room nodded as Kisuke made his way to the door in the office and exited the room.

Sojiro turned back to his mother after Kisuke had left, watching her heal his father but more focused on what Kisuke could have told her. After a few minutes, she wavered on the spot and Kadaj poked her.
“Mommy tired. Top it!”
His mother smiled at her youngest and kissed his head. “Don’t worry, your mommy’s going to be alright.” She reached for his father’s hand again.
But Sojiro reached for her hand. “Stop for now,” he murmured, more asking than stating. He paused and his voice strengthened. “Stop and rest. You can continue later. He won’t go anywhere, so please mom, stop using your abilities as the seraph and focus on what you need to do for yourself.”
