As Azayaka turned to follow her father, she said over her shoulder. "Such a shame. You could be free to do as you please if you follow my father. Here you will only die without ever seeing the beauty of the world. You will die alone without anyone knowing or caring about what they were missing. You should accept his invitation."

"NO, WAIT!" the words echoed around the room. Yumiko covered her mouth in surprise. She hadn't spoken out like that since her parents had left her .... had left her.... had left her.
Hiding her shaking hands in her kimono sleeves, Yumiko lifted her head towards her visitors again. "I.." she clenched her hands over the heavy cuffs and shook her head, "I want to be free. Please do what Ukitake and Kyoraku-san can't yet. I'll.....I won't be a burden again, so please...."

A smirk crossed his lips once more as he turned to the young girl Yumiko. "And you are sure this is what you wish?"
The young girl nodded her head quickly as Aizen walked over to her once more. Kneeling down on one knee again he told her. "Give me your hands, Yumiko."
She pulled her trembling hands from her kimono sleeves and held them out for Aizen. Taking both her wrist in his hands a with a soft whisper of two words.
"Tataki Kowasu.”
Her cuffs snapped free of her wrists and now lay in Aizen's hands. He tossed them aside as they clattered against the floor. He then took her hands gently in his.
"You are free to do as you please now. What is it you wish to do? I will make it happen for you."

She didn't have to think. "I want to see the sky," she said immediately. "It has been my only constant. It never ... left me." she clasped his hands. "And ... I want to talk to Mizue."

Aizen picked up her zanpakuto and handed it to her as he gently pulled her to stand with him.
"Let us go see the sky for now it is filled with bright stars tonight and the moon is full. I will finish your unsealing there. Then you can not only see the sky with your own eyes you can share it with Mizue no Kagami." He brushed the hair back from her face as she stood before him. "I am sure you would like ever much, would you not?"
He went to step forward with her, gently holding on to her hand as she too stepped forward with him.

"I understand and thank you," she replied, holding Mizue to her chest with one hand and the kind man's with her other. "Thank you... what do I call you?" She nearly stumbled on her futon but the man caught her.

Aizen sweep her up in his arms bridal style, "you may call me Aizen, my dear." He picked up his pace, his daughter falling in behind him as they left the room empty, only Yumiko's cuffs left behind.

"Taken":Shunsui, Juushiro, and Kisuke stood at the set of puzzles to Yumiko's room all too soon, and Shunsui didn't linger. Eyes flashing, he whispered the key phrases to break the series of spells and stormed forward. Why were these seals still in place? Eyes narrowed, the Captain Commander threw the doors to her actual room open and looked on. The attendant in the room bowed before him and didn't get up. Not a plan of Central then.... His eyes slid to the cuffs held out to him in her hands. He walked over and took them. "These haven't been forced..." he muttered to himself.

As Shunsui dismissed the attendant and his guard, leaving them alone, Juushiro came to stand next to him. "Shunsui, the Kido books aren't here... Do you think she-"
"Escaped on her own right after you tightened her bonds?" his old friend murmured just as quietly. "Sorry, that's not the solution here."
He glanced back at the doorway and then back to his friends. "Those seals are made so only a soul reaper could get in. It doesn't rule out hybrids, in case we needed another captain here, such as Hirako-san....But an espada..."
"There's no way anyone in his army would know of this place," Juushiro instantly protested, heart pounding in his chest. He didn't want to contemplate what a man like Sousuke could do to his young apprentice. "Even if we suspect someone helped him escape, we tightened the security on this place afterwards, as a precaution." Shunsui's eyes regarded him steadily. Juushiro's narrowed. "Ichimaru would be foolish to do something like this and he doesn't possess the skill in Kido."
Shunsui sighed. "I agree with you. It's too neat to be Sousuke."
Juushiro sighed, closing his eyes in relief. Shunsui continued thinking aloud.

"If we follow his records, that man was only quiet about his moves when he first rebelled. That leaves three sticky but less worrisome situations. Central decided to take matters in their own hands, which means she's been moved underground, and I am going to need someone equally tricky and on my side to find her. Then, there's the nobles. She burned the noble quarter with her attack before she was sealed. The heads know of her. Her family may have changed their minds. Both of those reasons would be for power... usurping me.... "
His theories were interrupted by Kisuke, speaking at last after doing his own perusal of the situation and listening quietly.

"This is not the work of Central. They would have never removed her cuffs." He looked around the room carefully. "Her belongings are gone and not a sign of forced entry coming in or out. I am taking her skill with Kido was not the best and being sealed it would not have mattered how strong she was with it. She would have never made it out of here without setting off some kind of warning."
He looked to both the captains. "This was an inside job and this soul reaper is very experienced in the Kido field."

Shunsui sighed, grateful that he brought him. With Central ruled out, finding her would still take time, but it wouldn't take as long as a wild goose chase against Central would. "Are there any clues at all you can spot? Anything that can help limit a search? I'd rather find her sooner than later."

"Particularly since they only broke the seal keeping her in this room," Juushiro indicated the cuffs. Shunsui let them fall onto the futon with a scoff. "We haven't felt a sudden peak in energy levels, which either means she's bound and blind, or someone broke the seal far away from us, which means there's a high probability her memories have been fractured."

Kisuke shook his head still looking around the room as he adjusted his hat over his eyes. "It's clean. Much too clean if you ask me. Something doesn't feel right here. And when I get that feeling in the pit of my stomach."
He looked to the two again. "Sousuke is always behind it."

Shunsui sighed again, hiding his face behind his large hat. "I really, really hope you're wrong, old friend," he mumbled in a low voice before raising it and looking at the shopkeeper grimly, "but you were right before, when no one else was." He set a hand on Juushiro's shoulder. "It's not much consolation, I know, but Sousuke's aim shouldn't be to harm her." Juushiro nodded quietly. Shunsui continued. "If he got in here," he looked to Kisuke for confirmation, "he's after her zanpakuto's power."
