Misao smiled, bringing the woman's hand to his lips. He pressed his lips to her hand gently. "This is a place of pain for you. I do not wish for our child to be conceived here. Is there another place you would rather be?" Misao pulled the woman close and rested a hand to her hip. "Some place of peace for you?"
Yumiko leaned against him, watching his hair catch the sunlight from the window where the potted plants were. She closed her eyes. "I should learn my lesson, really," she murmured. A few moments later, she went on. "I still love gardens, and until Ukitake died, there was a nook in his estate garden - one of the trees had been destroyed - that he tended over which I would escape to. There's a pool, a creek that connects to the main pond, and climbing star-like flowers over the old, hollowed out trunk."
She paused. "I've slipped into the park that circles the Noble Quarter at night too."
"I don't want you to dwell on your past. Though the past may hold memories you wish to relive and treasure, you must let them go if you are to move on." Misao looked down to the woman resting against him. "For you, the future mother of my child, I will create a new garden. One where only great things dwell."

Yumiko’s tentative smile grew as she looked up at Misao. “I didn’t know you could do that.” She hesitated. “What else can you do?”
"I am a god of death. As you saw," Misao turned and pointed to the potted flowers. "I can cause decay. But, I can also bring about life from the brink of death. So long as it is near me and has a life force, I can will anything to live...Or, die."
"It would be more apt to call you a god of life and death then," Yumiko murmured. "Is it difficult?"
"It does pain me to watch something die. But, I would not say it is difficult."
Yumiko looked down again. "You don't have to tell me more, but.... do you know when someone or something is to die? Or... is fated to continue living? Supporting others?"

Misao nodded as he began to fade from the room, the woman with him. "For two months, you will carry my child. But, for the rest of your life, I will owe you a debt I can not repay. Yes, Yumiko Ryouma, even gods have their limitations."Yumiko shook her head lightly. "You don't owe me a debt. If you did, how could it be a gift?" She closed her eyes, relaxing against Misao. Misao chuckled. "I suppose, you are correct. Let us go, Ryouma. To your garden of hope and love."
