Before the uneasy silence could grow, Byakuya decided to speak. “I do not believe the healing she seeks could be found at the site of her loss,” he stated. A few moments later, he decided to elaborate. “Perhaps she will seek out revenge for her loss as someone I know sought death, but at the academy, she will be introduced to a new environment. The seed for her recovery may be there.”

Kin looked to Byakuya from his mother. His mother calling his name softly as the look in his eyes changed to a hard cold look as he looked to the high nobleman. Kin's hand lifted toward is mother to silence her as he spoke to Byakuya.
"I do not know what type of family you stem from Kuchiki-sama, but the Masanobu family is very tightly woven. If my sister is to heal properly and is to stay on a path that will not lead to revenge. It is home with her loved ones where she needs to be. There are too many variables in this realm to leave her in the hands of strangers that might lead her astray."
He looked back to his tea lifting it from the table. "And in what I hear of the Gotei 13. There are far too many variables that have went astray within its ranks." He took a sip of his tea lowering his cup as he continued. "Your sister and a brother in-law being two of them."

"Kin Masanobu. That is enough." His mother stood to her feet at the side of the table. "You might be the head of this family since your father has past on, but I am your mother and I will not allow you to speak to a guest, a friend, in such away. Not to mention Kuchiki-sama is a high noble. Now apologize." His mother demanded.
Kin looked to his mother as he stood as well, his look drifted between the two as Byakuya himself stood causing Kin to look pointedly at him. "Is the Gotei so desperate that they are letting the spawn of known traitors into the academy? Ichimaru. Along with the known thieving clan, Asuhara?" Tucking his hands into his sleeves, he stepped away from the table. "It would seem so. I also had heard a child of Sousuke Aizen himself went through the academy, and landed herself in the intelligence division." He looked back over his shoulder at the noble. "Now. Does this sound like a place I want my little sister?"
"Kin!" Saya raised her voice to the non responding son.

The Head of the Kuchiki House cut off her pleas in a tone of steel. “You may be the head of a noble house, Kin Masanobu, but you seem far from ready to use the wisdom of such a position. The will of the Gotei were all that stood between Sousuke Aizen and his from controlling the realms for all time. And though it is a fact that his daughter entered the intelligence division, it is fortunate that she did not become a captain as her father had before her betrayal.”
He folded his arms before him, eyes flashing like points of obsidian, as his voice continued to whip out at the younger noble. “Ichimaru will be tested. There are far worse crimes than petty thievery. And not all blood is equal in worth or sin, even in a house of assassins.”
He turned to Saya and bowed his head. “Thank you for the meal, Lady Masanobu. I must now beg your pardon and take my leave.”
He spun around and walked over to the opposite exit than the Masanobu leader. He paused and raised his voice one more time. “Speak of my sister in that way again, Kin Masanobu, and I will not be lenient.” He continued out of the room. "Good evening."

Kin looked to his mother after the noble left the room. "I want Maki-chan out of that academy." With his direct order to his mother he turned toward her making a path across the room stopping in front of her. "And I never want to see that man in this household again." A loud slapping sound, echoing out in the home as Saya looked to her son, his head barely turned and his cheek bright red with her hand print. "You are not the Master of me, you are my son. Treat me as such or you will find another place to live and rule." Saya turned from him leaving the room, but before she did she looked to him once more."As for never allowing Byakuya-sama back into this home. I suggest from now on when I entertain him. You not be around." With her final words she turned again and left the room.Watching his mother gracefully glide from the room he looked out the open window seeing Byakuya walking toward the gate. "We will see about that."

"Dinner with His Princess": (continued) Suigetsu chuckled, shaking her head. "At least I never have to worry about explaining myself to you." Kin laughed lightly as he led her into the dining room. Suigetsu couldn't thank the gods enough that her stomach didn't growl as they stepped into the mouthwatering scents of the food that had been laid out on the table. In the middle was a large pot on a single burner stove. The pot contained several kinds of meat, seafood and vegetables with udon noodles in a miso broth. Surrounding the nabemono pot were several side dishes, including rice, dipping sauces, several kinds of vegetables and many other things. For drinks there was a steaming pot of tea and a bottle of sake with two saucers. "Oh wow. It smells fantastic. The Masanobu cooks are excellent as always," she gawked at the food.

Kin nodded. "Yes, it amazes me how we all stay so thin with the cooks here. Though, Shirou is showing a slight bit of plumpness."
All of a sudden the door slid open and Shirou poked his head in with a pouting expression on his face. "I heard that!"
Kin chuckled and looked his way after helping Suigetsu take her seat. "I know you did. I knew you were eavesdropping that's why I said it. I knew you would give yourself away."
Suigetsu's chuckled at Shirou shaking her head. "You had better pray that your prey never knows you are after them. Because if they do, all they will have to do to know you're there is to speak ill of your appearance."
Kin chuckled softly nodding his head. "How very true that statement is."

Shirou scoffed at his brother and Suigetsu, who was now apparently officially Kin's lover. The thought of them together was both relieving and terrifying. "Call me fat again and we'll see who is the prey and who is the hunter," he glared at them both and walked out of the door. "Enjoy your date! And no premarital sex!"

Kin shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Well of course not. What kind of gentlemen would my father have raised if I were to do that?"
"A bad one!" Shirou called back as he wandered away from the door.
Kin chuckled softly again as he walked over to his side of the table and took a seat. "Tea?" He ask Suigetsu as he lifted the teapot to pour her a cup.

"Yes please," she chuckled as Shirou stormed out. "Shirou is always so much fun to be around. Especially when you throw the rest of you brothers into the mix." She set her tea down. "Ready to eat?" She smiled, trying not to sound desperate for food. Kin nodded to her filling her cup as they then started to fill their plates and started eating. "I hope you're enjoying your evening?" Kin asked her as he looked at her from across the table. "I have a surprise for you after dinner.""A surprise? Just when I thought this day couldn't get any better," Suigetsu beamed. Dinner progressed at a moderate pace as they ate and made small talk, talking about old memories and their hopes for the new memories they would make as a couple. No one bothered them, not even Koko to check in on them. After dinner, Koko cleared the table as Kin took Suigetsu out to the pond in the garden--the very same pond that was painted onto her kimono. The two of them sat on the bench next to the pond where Kin pulled out a silver pendant with a moonstone. It was a fine piece of jewelry that she had found at a jewelry store one time, but had been sold by the time she had returned with the money. She had no idea how Kin found it, but seeing the pendant again and having him give it to her brought tears to her eyes. Suigetsu couldn't remember the time she had been so overwhelmingly happy.

"Permission":
The head of the Kuchiki household was mainly silent throughout the family meal, considering details he had left behind at work and listening to the conversation the Masanobu family cultivated. Mainly amongst Makino, her brothers, and with prompting, Sojiro. Kin had not attended the meal today. Byakuya raised his cup of tea to his lips. The month had been relatively quiet in that respect. Either his blossoming affection for the Koriyama heir had become his focus, or the eldest was growing to accept his presence.
Personally, he suspected the former. The couple times the two of them had come into contact when he had begun Makino's personal training seemed to imply that he still had his qualms with the situation. Byakuya closed his eyes. The truth would come into the open soon enough. And in the meantime, his choice to aid Makino with her fears - and not making it a subject at the table - had improved his chances with the other three brothers.
However, that detail didn't matter to him - not as much as the bright smile of gratitude in Saya's eyes and the moments of affection he had gained with Makino.
He fervently prayed that the gods would see his dedication and grant this family their overlaying protection.
And he would wait for the acceptance of the last family member in silence - as long as he kept himself from the harm he himself had inflicted upon himself.
Saya reached across the distance between them to lay her hand over his. Opening his eyes, he turned his own wrist to clasp her warmed fingers in quiet acknowledgement and reassurance. There wasn't anything specifically bothering him.
Looking up, he noticed Makino glance in his direction and then return to the discussion amongst her brothers. She did it again.
He waited for their conversation to reach a momentary pause. "Makino, what is it that you wish to ask?"

"Well..." Makino started as she glanced to Sojiro then back to Byakuya and her mother. She let her hand find Sojiro's taking hold of his under the table as their fingers linked together. She needed the courage to ask the one question about the money. Then again she may not have to if Byakuya disagreed with the Festival theme. So she decided to take the easiest route first.
"I have a couple questions. The first one is a must. The second and the third one I can drop if the first one is disagreed upon."
Byakuya nodded. “Continue then.”
"Allura and I were asked to be part of the Fall Festival setup this year. I told Ayako I was not sure if you would allow it just yet." She paused almost holding her breath waiting for his answer.

Byakuya folded his arms inside the sleeves and his kimono and looked into his future step daughter and current student’s vibrant eyes. “That is a question you should answer yourself, Makino Masanobu.” Saya rose to pour him another cup of tea, and he raised the warm glass to his mouth, considering how to phrase his next words.
He did not want to expose all the details they had uncovered in their sessions in regards to those men, the paralysis in her mind, the terror from the the illusion of closing walls, and the numbness from being hunted and rendered weak. That which he had vowed to keep between the two of them unless she desired to discuss the topic with another.
He decided to keep his inquiry simple.
“Can you face your fear or will it control you?”

Makino smiled confidently at her mentor. "I can face my fears now thanks to you, Byakuya-sama. Even the dreams that have haunted me have stopped. I have found a lot of the confidence that I had lost in years pat since you have been training me." She smiled warmly at him. "And gained even more in the process."
Her hand tightened around Sojiro's. "I owe you a debt of gratitude, Byakuya-sama." She bowed her head to him. "Thank you so much."

Shirou sipped his tea then nodded firmly in agreement. "Yes. Most definitely. Maki-chan has become much more confident and secure than she has been prior to your training, Kuchiki-sama." He set his tea down and tilted his head at Makino. "As for my input, I think you can handle yourself at the festival Maki-chan, though it wouldn't hurt to place a couple 'shadows' around you. Someone who can sniff out trouble before you do... as insurance."
