Byakuya’s eyes remained on the doorway though which Saya had exited for a few moments before Makino cleared her throat. He looked over at her, noticing the slight blush on her cheeks, and waved a hand at the table. “Take a seat. Your mother made some of her spiced tea. It should ease your mind before we begin to discuss this matter.”
He paused. "And I apologize again for the position I put you in."

Makino shook her head. "I am fine. It--" she cut herself short not believing she had that thought, but Byakuya looked at her and the look in his eyes urged her to continue. She could not help but smile warmly at him and she knew why. She started to giggle softly, as Byakuya now looked at her in confusion.
"Nii-sama has not been disciplined like that since father has passed." When he did not stop her she continued. "They butted heads like that all the time. Father always trying to get him to come down off his high horse. Nii-sama always trying to get father to get on his."
Byakuya nodded. “I did not mean to offend your family or his way of leading the family, but this was an instance I had to interfere. Even if it may not be my place.”
"I understand and I know Nii-sama cares not just about this family, but others too. He just..." She paused and lowered her head. "He has had a lot dumped into his lap." Her head shook. "He was not ready for it, he told me that himself during the Takeover." She looked back to Byakuya. "He is trying. I am sure you can understand that."
Byakuya nodded and was about to speak as Makino's hand came up a single finger shaking at him, her expression changing to a stern one. "On another note. I see how you and my mother look at one another. IF something happens and you two do wed." She stopped and smiled at him again. "Be good to her and she will show you the same undying love she shows the rest of us."

Byakuya nodded. “I wish for nothing but the best for your mother and this family, whatever that may be. And I have no wish to harm or hurt her. Your mother herself has spoken against my leaving to protect you if I am targeted by the enemy, and so far, I have honored her wishes - with pleasure.” He took a seat at the table, waiting for her to do the same. “And to your brother, there are mistakes we must let occur for growth and there are some, if we see them, where it is the elder’s position to halt. And prevent. When his pride and anger cool, hopefully he sees that.”

Makino nodded looking down at the teapot on the table then decided to pour herself and Byakuya a cup. She looked across the table after picking up her cup. "Where do you want me to start?"
Byakuya looked at her with the subject change. "From the beginning would be best."
Makino started her story as Byakuya listened to her. She started by telling him what each one looked like not leaving out a single detail. Her story then moving into what happened. She started about how they were on the opposite side of the road then crossed once they got closer. Then how they parted two on either side then closed in around them, with the tall red head blocking their way. She explained how they were telling them they were new to the area and only wanted directions and how the two blondes were being crude and none of them would let them pass even when they told them what they wanted. She then told him she drew her sword when the one ashy blonde called her a lesbian and that was when her brothers showed.
She fell silent as Byakuya digested what she told him. Suddenly she snapped her fingers. "The one golden blonde with the tattoo. He had a white kitten with big blue eyes."

Byakuya had taken out a notebook from his kimono and started to take notes opposite a draft of a working poem. Adding the description of the kitten underneath his notes on the tattooed ruffian, he examined the evidence before him. Not liking what he saw. But besides watch, there was little he could do until he caught them red-handed. Or he gathered more witnesses on their moves.
However, it didn’t seem like they were sent by Aizen.
“Until you hear otherwise, Makino Masanobu, I want you to treat these men as if they were an enemy assigned to you. Keep your guard up when you are out in the Rukongai or even on the way here. If you see them, inform one of your brothers. Or one of the Gotei - someone you trust or someone Sojiro Ichimaru trusts.”
“Be cautious. And spread the word if it won’t cause alarm.”

Hearing Soji's name her head lowered, a sadness filling her heart. "Yes. I will." She looked up at Byakuya and smiled weakly. "Thank you. I will do my best to get the word out without starting a panic with the students or well...At least the girls."
"That blonde with the kitten used it like it was some sort of tool to lure people in. It would be smart to be watching out for little kids. That would draw them in, in a heartbeat. Just as it does with women that like small fluffy animals."
She sighed as her next thought entered her mind. "I will tell Ichimaru about this so he can tell his friends to be on look out for them as well. The more eyes looking for them the faster we might be able to find them."

Byakuya nodded and lifted his cup of tea. Again, he hesitated, but he had already interfered with the family matters once. It wold do no more harm to inquire further. “You brother says you fancy Ichimaru.” Makino blushed. “Are you aware of the danger that could cause you if the enemy targets him?”
"Yes, but it does not matter." She looked Byakuya in the eyes. "Ichimaru has not talked to me in three days."
"Unless you have cause to believe otherwise, three days, while long to the heart, is not enough for you to falter."
"It's--" she lowered her eyes from his. "It's not just that. Its what happened to cause it." She lifted her head slowly. "I would rather not talk about it, but if he does come back around and we are still together. I know what you're going to say, and it is not going to change my mind on him and where I want to be. I will endure any danger that might come along with it. I care a lot for him. Not just as as my boyfriend, but as a friend, and some day." She smiled quietly. "Who knows. Maybe wedding bells will be ringing for us."
Byakuya nodded. "If you feel about him this strongly, I will cease my questioning at the moment. But I do not believe that will stop your brothers. This is a strong family. Find an ally in your wonderful mother and keep it that way." He lifted his cup again. "Danger is brewing again. Strength of love and family will be good sheilds against the - confusion to come."

Makino smiled brightly. "I have always had a bond with my mother, and my brothers. Some stronger than most, but we could always sit and talk in the end, even if ill words were said in the beginning. That's family." She giggled softly.
"At least that is what father always said."
Byakuya hummed as if agreeing with her as he took another sip of his tea, Makino doing the same. As she lowered her cup, she remembered something Ryusuke told her.
"Oh? Captain Kuchiki, there is one thing I would like to ask you, and I understand if you cannot tell me."
He cocked his head slightly at her. "Continue."
"Captain Hirako? I heard he was imprisoned. I won't ask why if this is true, but is it a fact?"

Byakuya’s lips quirked up in a small smile of amusement. “It is indeed true. He was in need of a temporary disciplinary measure. He will probably be there until either Urahara bangs his head enough or something happens and the Gotei needs his power. Whichever comes first. I doubt the current one month order will be enough if the status quo remains. But I will say that this doesn’t mean you’re going to get rid of him. If you are still determined to get into his division, he will be back to snap at you soon enough."

Makino giggled softly as her head shook. "I was not hoping he was gone for good. I admire Captain Hirako. He has been through so much and he is right back where he was before..." she fell short looking at the captain before her.
"Well... you know what happened. You lived through it as well. Anyway, here's to hoping him being back by the time I graduate." She lifted her tea cup in a cheer taking a sip.

"If he's not, then Urahara isn't as good with hard heads as it is believed," Byakuya muttered, half to himself. He finished his tea and rose from the table.
"You're leaving?" Makino asked him.
"I will bid your mother farewell and express my wish- advice that one of your brothers walks you back to the academy, but time is the only way to catch villains before they change their faces. And I want to locate a certain someone who's as slippery as they come. If he has a moment when his silver tongue is less polished, it's the morning."
"He can help you find them?" She probably couldn't help the note of hope in her voice.
Byakuya's eyes narrowed. "They will be caught, Makino. I promise."

Makino smiled with a quick nod. She felt optimistic about this with it being in Byakuya's hands, though she had no idea who Byakuya was talking about, but if he could help she thought that would be wonderful. The faster they could catch these guys the better she would feel. Though she had no one to blame but herself for letting them get the best of her, but that would never happen again. She would never let herself be found vulnerable again. If she could not even stand against a common thug, what would happen when it came time to stand against the hollows and what was she doing in the academy if this was the best she could do?
As Byakuya left the room, Makino started cleaning up their tea cups and places at the table. It would be breakfast time soon and Allura was still sleeping. She needed to go wake her so she could get ready to face the day and get ready to train again before they headed back to the Academy. A walk she hoped would be better than their walk there.

"Final Stroke of the Day": (continued) Kin stood with his back to the door looking out into the garden, his hands folded behind him as the noble Kuchiki, his baby sister and the lowly boy that dare dirty their family name by calling himself his baby sister's boyfriend, entered the room.
He turned slowly acknowledging Kuchiki first as he bowed to the man. He then looked to his baby sister, his eyes targeting her and the boy's hands linked and locked together at their sides. His eyes narrowed slowly as he looked to the boy.
"You have some nerve, young man," Kin expressed as his mothers hand rose before he could go on.

Saya looked to her daughter and the young man standing before them. She then pointedly looked to Sojiro a warm smile crossing her lips. "So you are the young Ichimaru I have been hearing so much about." She looked back to her daughter her smile brightening as she nodded slightly.
"Sit, please." She gestured to the seats on the other side of the table for them to sit down. She then stood as Byakuya walked around the table where she sat. When he stepped up to her she rested her hands to his forearms, tiptoed up and kissed his cheek lightly.
"It's good to see you still in one piece," she spoke ever so softly to him as she looked into his dark eyes.

“And so I will remain,” he whispered in turn, vowing once again to do his best to stay alive. For her. And for their future. The hardened gaze in his eyes softened as her own lit up with the exchange. And he let himself savor the warmth for another couple moments before he stepped back and sat down. Saya followed his lead.
But Kin looked to Sojiro Ichimaru from his position against the door.
It seemed his second choice of words would be against the seating arrangements.
