Kisuke growled as the shackles snapped free from around his wrist, his arm coming up as his elbow came crashing down into the side of the Ayakashi's head. Sada staggered back from him falling to his knees when one of the needles stabbed him in the leg.
"You first fucker." Kisuke told him as he grabbed up Benihime swinging the blade at the monsters head. The blade stopped just inches from removing his head as Kagawa's whip wrapped around his wrist and stopped him.

"Move!" shouted Vale, shunpoing toward Kisuke. He slammed a fist into Kisuke's chest. As he stumbled backwards, Vale's fists hit their mark three more times.
Vale stripped the man of his zanpakuto and tossed it to Kagawa. Grabbing Kisuke's arms, Vale pulled as he kicked Kisuke in the chest and dislocating both arms.
"And, in case you feel like running." Vale kicked Kisuke in both knees, delighting in the sound of his breaking bones.
Turning back to Sada, Vale narrowed his eyes. "Stop him from aging and drag his ass back to Aizen. Now!" Vale turned as Sada grabbed the shopkeeper by the hair and began to drag him through an opening garganta. Kagawa and Vale followed.

"Banding Together":Karin slammed a foot into the dummy yet again, eyes narrowed in keen irritation. It would have been better to have been born a normal human being right now, one who didn’t see ghosts or had a zanpakuto strapped to her back as she warmed up. After all, she had finished her bachelor’s degree in physical education and her twin had begun interning with their old man in lieu of starting medical school. All three of them were in the prime of their years, a fact made even plainer by the swirling reiatsu around Karin’s form. But then again, it was hard to forget that all wasn’t well. Seven years had passed since the kidnappings and disappearances at Urahara’s Shop. Yoruichi had vanished to the winds as soon as her wounds had healed, and nowadays, more often than not, Tessai was absent from the quiet shop, too. A sign hung in the window of the shop in the crazy shopkeeper’s handwriting, alerting the neighborhood shinigami that supplies taken would be paid for with interest on his return. No one knew when Tessai had put it up or if it had been written up for this occasion. It was just a passing reminder of better days. Drawing her zanpakuto, Karin charged the fireproof figure, imagining a tall man with an irreplaceable smirk. Before Toshiro, Renji, and Tsukiro visited with a sternness in their eyes that never quite left. Even when offered watermelon. Before a friend’s death and more disappeared in Las Noches. Before the first and only rescue attempt. And before another friend who may have had powers that would have helped, aka Ishida a Quincy, had vanished from town. Karin paused in her first set of sparring exercises and let Homura’s fire leave her limbs, calming her mind and focusing on good things. Vacanze had come around at dinner after the final touchups had been completed, a bag over his shoulder as he asked for a room at their house, once again. Damn Old Man had gushed great big man tears as if he was getting a better son. And after kicking the crazy old man out the window, Ichigo had offered to share his bedroom. When dinner was finished, the ex-espada beat everyone in rising and offering to get the plates out of the way for Yuzu’s dessert. Karin got it immediately, after Vacanze started sticking to Yuzu the next morning. It took a year for the boys to catch on. When their Old Man had suddenly started crying when Yuzu had walked in front of their mother’s poster, something about looking so much like Masaki that he could almost squeeze her breasts again — their mother’s, not Yuzu’s, of course. Vacanze had growled, red eyes whirling, startling everyone, even himself. Yuzu and Vacanze were a couple, but they both seemed to be waiting for something. Karin didn’t understand it, but at the same time, Karin glowered at the bouncing dummy, changing Homura into a wide scimitar and slicing a boulder, she herself couldn’t keep a boyfriend with war on the horizon either.

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 402 "The Ailing Urahara": Kenji laid on the dirt and gravel covered grounds. His legs were banged up and bruised. As were his hands. His knuckles bled. He sat up as he tried to catch his breath. "Come on, Kenji...Come on..." Kenji got up slowly, picking his zanpakuto up as he stood. He fell back to one knee. Despite having been healed by both Kita and Yumiko over the last two weeks, Kenji still had pain in his ribs and right arm. In fact, he had a slight tremble in his right hand.
Raising his hand and flexing his fingers, Kenji sat down on the ground. He thought about his fight with Vale. How his right arm, and only up to the elbow, had changed when he attempted to call on his demon powers. He didn't know much about...Anything really...about his demon powers. Only that his mother could change completely. Turning his arm, he could see very faint striping on his skin. They looked like very old and faded tattoos.
"Ya know, Tora...What mom if isn't a demon...What if she's just some super master of manipulation of spiritual energies. And, that's how she can change into a cat. And, if I inherited that ability from her...Maybe I could turned into anything..." Kenji fell onto his back and held his hand toward the false sky above. "...Like invisible..." He sighed and let his hand fall to his chest.
"Why is this so hard?"Moved

Kita entered the training grounds silently, seeing her kid brother lying in the dirt looking up into the artificial sky of the training field. She heard what he asked aloud--to no one in particular--however, since she was there, she decided she would answer his question.
"Because they don't know how to make shit easy for us idiots." She walked over and plopped down next to her little brother. She looked down at him as he now laid next to her. "I remember when I was learning how to open the Godly gate. Hell when I was learning how to use any of Sumi's Godly powers. I felt like my body was being ripped apart at the seams. I couldn't get anything right to save my life and all I did was piss everyone off. I was one huge disappointment after another."

Kenji sat up and wrapped his arms around his knees. He looked at his sister. "Yeah but you did it. And, no one looked at you like were some grand failure. And you were trying to use someone else's powers. These are my own. And, I can barely manage to do the most basic skills." He slammed a fist into the ground. "There are kids at the academy more proficient than I am."
"You can't think like that, Kenji. Everyone learns at their own pace. You can't compare me to you. Because I am human and the powers I was learning were not mine they were already powerful I just had to learn how to withstand them. You and Sojiro can't be compared. Because you're full soul reaper and he is only half. And stop trying to fill our father's shoes. There is centuries of wisdom, training, and power, there that is not going to come overnight." Her head shook, "Hell, it ain't even going to come in the twenty years you have been alive."
Kenji shook his head. "Look, if you came down here to give me a pep talk, save it. I might need it but I don't want it." Kenji stood up and dusted himself off. "I'm tired of everyone trying to make me feel better. Plus," Kenji looked down at Kita. "Dad...The one person I actually want to talk to, hasn't made a single fucking effort to start over like he said...I just..." Kenji sheathed his blade with a sigh. "Just leave me alone, will ya."

Kita stood, planting herself in front of her brother. Her look was stern with a touch of annoyance. "Kenji Urahara, you know I love you without a doubt and you know I would give my very life for you. I know for the last seven years you have been hurting. I know you have had to deal with a lot of things by yourself, and I know for the last seven years you have been without your family for the biggest part of that."
"If I were able to save you from that I would have. How it came about I don't remember, but you were with us for a short time, then Aizen took you away from me once more. After it happened, I was told you were sent out on a job, then I was told you were cast out, freed from the hell called Las Noches. I don't know what you went through--" Kita fell silent as tears pooled in her eyes, "Because you won't talk to me, and I'm sorry I haven't talked to you about what happened to me, but I haven't. Because I don't want to add to the weight of your heart. I think you believe I had it rather simple or at least you think I handled it better because I had family close. I had Sojiro," her head shook, "and he was a child. Gin was there, but in the beginning, as we all know--Gods love his soul--when it come to moral support he was lacking."
"I don't know what you're aware of that happened with my time there, but I did not have just one tormentor. Everyone that bowed to Aizen was a tool he used against me in one way or another to hurt me, and everyone I love, or cared about was hung over my head and their lives threatened if I did not do as I was told, and you were one of them. Aizen would not let me get close to anyone. Not you, not Kisuke, not anyone in the maze."
She wiped her tears on her sleeve. "I know you want to talk to him, you want to learn how to use your zanpakuto, how to use kido, and I am sure you are even curious about the powers you got from your mother. But I also know you are very aware that Aizen has returned to Las Noches, fully charged, and none of us are ready for an attack of any calabar at this moment. I know you don't want to return to that life," her head shook, "none of us do. Kisuke is only trying to make sure that doesn't happen. He is not against talking to you while he is trying to find something to keep us all safe." She smiled warmly at her little brother. "Go to the lab. Talk to him. Maybe at some point while your talking one of you will figure out something that will work against Aizen and his hords. Then once that is in place and Kisuke has peace of mind he can give you his full attention and train you like you have been wanting."
She looked her little brother in the eyes, tears still pooling in hers as she sniffled. "Don't stay down here and stew in your own juices only getting angrier. That solves nothing."

"Yeah...Everyone is more important. Everything else takes priority." Kenji nodded. He sighed. "It's...I get it...In the grand scheme of things, I'm small. I don't matter. It was stupid of me to think anything would change." Kenji walked towards the stairs leading to the house. "You know," he stopped a few steps up from the bottom. "I'm tired of all of this. And...and...I hate to be mean...But you're part of the problem. You and Gin!"
Kenji took a step down. "Dad's always talking to or planning some shit with Gin. Mom's always watching your kids. MY parents don't have time to help ME because some shit you two seem to be involved in!" Kenji felt himself growing angrier by the word. "And, I'm just supposed to be okay with everything because I'm twenty, right?! I'm a grown ass man, as Vale said. Well you know what," Kenji turned his back to Kita and walked further up the stairs. "At least you've made some attempt to help because that's what you're supposed to do. You're my sister. But, this whole lift yourself up by your bootstraps thing is bullshit. It didn't work for you. It's not going to work for me. So, I'd appreciate it if you just stopped. Or...just do what I asked you to and leave me alone." Kenji left the training area.Moved

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 402 "The Ailing Urahara": After a quick stop to grab Benihime, an old worn book, and one too many questions about his creation he just finished from his son, the two finally found themselves in the underground training field.
"I am starting to think you have no faith in your old man's abilities." "Am I supposed to?" Kenji rubbed the back of his head. "I'm not a total idiot. I understand all of this. And, I've got theories of how to deal with that of my own. But, I just think that was the most important thing to do after all of this. If there's anything I've learned, is that the gods usually have some hidden plan or agenda.""Yeah,"--Kisuke pressed the book into Kenji's chest--"Well, your grandfather's agenda fucked with everyone's agenda."

Kenji took a step back as he held the book to his chest. He looked down at the book, tilting his head to the side. "What's this? Your dad have a journal?" he snickered. Quickly thumbing through the pages, Kenji hummed to himself and began to walk in a small circle. "What..." Kenji looked to his father. "What is this?"
"A book of Kido. We are starting with the basics. Since you're not familiar with them--Kido is a form of combat based on advanced spells. They fall into two categories:" Kisuke's hand lifted as one finger lifted, "Hado for direct attacks," then a second finger lifted, "and Bakudo for battle support. Kido spells are triggered by an incantation, and most spells are graded on a scale from 1 to 99. Spells of the latter are the most powerful and the most difficult to perform, and the power of a spell relies on the power of the user, whereas if a high-class soul reaper uses a low-level spell, it can be utterly devastating when utilized by them." Kisuke fell silent and looked at his son. "Questions?"
"Well, for starters," began Kenji. "If they require incantations, I've never heard you or Gin or Take-jii...hell even Vale...I've never heard any of you actually use incantations. In fact, Vale hit me with a couple of Kido spells and didn't say a word." He looked at his father curiously. "So, it can be done without incantation?"

A brow raised as Kisuke looked on at his son, "So you noticed that did you?" Kisuke chuckled. "Experienced users can trigger the Kido without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell might be diminished slightly and some soul reapers are so advanced that they can cast high-level spells by simply naming them." Kisuke looked pointedly at his boy, hands on his hips.
"There are three main types of Kido. Can you tell me what they are?"

“Binding, destruction and healing…” Kenji raised his arms above his head and stretched. “Bakudo…That’s binding…Hado…well, that destruction, and then there’s the healing spells. But you said that already.” Kenji looked pointedly at his father. “Are you trying to see if I’m paying attention?”
"I only mentioned two, not the third," Kisuke stated. "Now. No Kido will last forever, they will erode with time, as anything created by a living thing will die because as we know. All living things eventually die."
“Right.” Kenji nodded, bringing a hand to his chin. “Things like distance, skills of the caster, environment and even other spells can affect the success of a spell.” Kenji stroked his chin. “I know all of this…”

"Alright, so let's start with Bakudo. Way of Binding: Supplementary spells that can immobilize an enemy or have an effect besides a direct strike. They may seem subtle, but these spells can give their users a tactical advantage when used properly. These are a broad category of defensive spells that repel attacks or freeze enemies in place. This class of spells includes Kido Barriers & Seals."
Kisuke looked pointedly at Kenji, his hand lifted in front of him, palm up as his other hand pointed to the center of his palm. "Barriers: Are focused spiritual energy formed into a solid form of energy. This energy can take on many shapes or colors as determined by the user."
"That’s why Kita’s barrier is purple." Kenji stated.
Kisuke nodded, "Exactly, and like we all know Barriers are protective in nature and can be as simple as a barrier only protecting one direction or encompassing all sides of an area. Barriers can be used for containment, and some barriers can be used offensively. Barriers can mask Spiritual Pressure and can make one spiritually and physically invisible. The strength of a barrier is dependent upon the power of the user. Weak barriers are easily breakable, while strong ones can last for centuries. Barriers created by noble blood are said to be unbreakable by those of lesser status. Certain barriers can be placed beforehand and activated later, while others require certain artifacts and time to activate."
" So…Leaving a trap.” Kenji nodded. “Got it. Kita ever leave traps?” Kenji didn’t know why he kept bringing up his sister. But that would be the last questioned he’d ask about her during training.
"I am sure she could if she was trained, but I don't think anyone ever trained her with this certain technique." He paused for a second then remembered where he left off. "Alright now, Seals: Somewhat similar to barriers, but far more powerful and require far more preparation to create. Seals can only be used by those with sufficient Spiritual Power and are meant to hold the most powerful and/or dangerous artifacts or beings. Seals are usually hard to break." Kisuke paused again. "You still with me? Any questions thus far?"

Kenji nodded. "Yeah. I'm with you. But, if I'm being honest, I know all of this. You taught me all of this before..." Kenji's words trailed off. "Before all of...you know...Anyway...You taught me this. We just never got a chance to put it into practice. Book smart...That's me." He chuckled. "I am your kid, after all. I...just don't know how to put it into practice. But, please believe me when I say that I've tried. It only seems to work when I'm angry or in a tough spot, though."
Kenji sat on the ground with his legs folded in front of him. He rested his zanpakuto to his should. "And, if there is anything you all have taught me just by fighting the good fight, it's that acting in anger might make you powerful...but it isn't efficient and it leaves you vulnerable."

"Alright, good. I was not sure if you remembered all of this. It has been a while and a lot has happened. Anyway. Have you meditated," Kisuke sat on the ground with his son, "with your zanpakuto at all since, as you said 'all this' has taken place?" He questioned Kenji.
Kenji shook his head. "Well...No. I can't say that I have. " He lowered his gaze as he took his zanpakuto and rested it across his lap. "I'm pretty sure she's angry with me. Training by myself earlier says that..."
"You're talking in code here boy. How about whole sentences? Who is she angry with, you? And training by yourself? When? Just a little bit ago?" Kisuke adjusted his hat looking at his son better.
"Yeah!" Kenji laughed. "I was training by myself just before Kita came down and tried to give me a pep talk. And, I think Tora," he held up his zanpakuto. "I think she's mad at me."
"Hmm," Kisuke's hand slid under his hat scratching the side of his head. "Well, the only way you're going to fix that is to communicate with--Tora?" he watched as Kenji's head nodded slowly, "so you know what that means." Kisuke unsheathed Benihime and laid her across his crossed legs.
