"Powers and the Bonds Between Them":
Gin appeared in the center of the luminous room of the cave before slumping over, Kita still in his arm. He groaned, rolling to his side, blood dripping from chest and limbs, even as he felt the calming flow of healing. He could do little but lay there in pain, holding onto the shivering body of Kita.
"Sumi," he hissed, "I could use some help. I could barely see anything but flashes of crimson, black, and light."

Sumi appeared beside them resting her hand to Gin's head. "You overexert yourself, Ichimaru. The powers were not meant to be forced." Her healing powers flowed through her to him. "They were meant to work with you, not against you. You wield powers of the light not of darkness. They should flow through you not ordered to work or forced."
He narrowed his eyes at her his vision still blurred but clearing slowly. "Take care of Kita. She needs you not me." He hissed at her moving his head back from her touch. "I will heal myself."
Sumi shook her head looking to Kita as she grasp at her head with both hands her trembling intensifying. Ichimaru pulled her even closer holding her tight in his arms. "She is still living out the hallucinations Vale put into her mind."
"What FUCKING hallucinations?!" Ichimaru growled.
"There are three playing out in a cruel cycle. She is fighting against them on her own. If I break the hallucinations now I could do damage to her mind. In doing so, the last one she was forced to believe could become reality for her." Sumi shook her head with a heavy sigh.
"If she wakes from that one, she could try killing you. They forced her to believe you were the one in the wrong and Aizen in the right." She looked back to Ichimaru. "She killed you for Aizen in that vision. Then turned to him like a loyal follower."
She placed her hand to his head once more and continued her help healing him. "Just hold her. Talk to her like you did last time. Let her know you're here for her. When she hears your voice, I will take action then. She will be focused on you then and not the hallucinations."

Gin nodded, slowly sitting up as the healing returned movement to his limbs, pulling the stricken Kita into his lap. His eyes narrowed, recalling how he had felt Kita's soul cry out for him, demanding answers and instructions from Sumi, and his decision to act just before he felt a crack in their connection. At first. he had tried entering her mind through a dream, but he had been flung from her, ripping into his chest. Finally, ignoring Sumi, he drew Shinsou, and wielded it in combination with the godly powers flowing through his body. Each stroke of Shinsou and god powers digging into his body would be worth it if it meant he had saved Kita. He stroked Kita's wet hair from her cheek, wincing as she pulled away from him.
As the healing powers erased the blood on both his clothes and her body, Gin pulled his arms from his kimono and haori and wrapped Kita in them like blankets before tentatively coaxing her back to his lap. He set his forehead against her shaking head. "Come on, dearie," he murmured. "You know what is fact and what is nightmare. You're stronger than any hallucination. Look inside yourself." |

Even in her minds eyes Kita clutched her head as she huddled in the void called her mind. She knew what was true she knew in her heart that Gin was her Master, not Aizen. However, the hallucinations Vale planted in her mind were much stronger than the first one and him planting three at one time made it even harder for her to break free.
Though it did not fail, Gin calling to her, coaxing her back to him, was indeed helping Kita focus on what was true to heart and reality for her. She released her head, inhaling quickly her body going stiff as she rolled to her back her eyes shot open wide as she was released from the first hallucination.
"Gin..." his name slipped from her lips in her incoherent state in his arms.
Suddenly she screamed eyes closed and hands covering her ears. "Make it stop! Make it stop!" Kita screamed.

Sumi watched as Ichimaru pulled Kita closer to him as she screamed.
"What the hell now?!" He growled as he quickly turned to the Goddess.
"She is living through the second hallucination." Sumi stated. "Aizen had ripped out your heart and offered it to her, she watched him do it. As he offered it to her it was still contracting. She is hearing it beating."

As Kita screamed and thrashed in his arms, Gin hissed in fury and clasped his hands around her arms, keeping her from falling onto the hard cave floor. His eyes narrowed then softened. “I’m sorry, dear one, I can’t stop them unless I want to lose you. It has to be done by you. You can do this, Kita. I know you can. None of the images are real. It’s all a way to break you, to break the bond between us.”
He gnashed his teeth as his bloodlust started to rise with his name falling from her lips in broken sobs. “Fight it, Kita, fight it. You’re not alone and you do have the means to fight th-"
Kita slumped limp in his arms.
Gin blinked. "Kita! Kita, get up." He shook her furiously. Worry claimed him, blinded him to the fact that Kita was slowly waking up, and he slapped her hard. He raised his hand again.
Kita let out a blood curling scream. "NOOOOO!!!!"

Kita's eyes shot open as she looked to Gin. Her face paled, eyes wide as she looked into his eyes. Gin's arms loosened around as she jolted away from him backing away on all fours. Gin reached for her, Kita screaming and clenched her head, her hands over her ears.
"STOP! STOP!" She shook her head quickly still covering her ears as another blood curdling scream escaped her. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
She froze her expression blank her eyes empty as only a single tear rolled down her cheek. She fell to her side her body shaking in trimers.
"W...why? Gin? Why?" Her body curled into a fetal position shaking harder. The only image she could see was Gin's heart being crushed in Aizen's hand.

Gin didn’t even bother asking Sumi what had happened now. He knew his former master well enough and it was he who had slapped her. He threw his kimono back over body and wrapped his body around her curled up, shuddering form. “Kita, can you hear me?” he whispered. “It’s not true. Listen,” he reached for her hand, setting it over his pounding heart. He took a slow breath, hoping to calm himself down, still holding onto her hand. “My heart is still beating. You are not alone.” He stroked her feverish head. “Aizen has not won. Please, Kita, dear one, friend of friends, don’t give in. Not now."

Kita laid in Gin's arms pulled close to his body for a good hour holding her hand to his chest her head resting to his shoulder, coaxing her back to him with his soft and gentle words. Back to the reality she belonged in with him, back at his side where she needed to be and where he needed her. Slowly within that hour Kita's body stopped quaking. Her tears stopped flowing like waterfalls and her grip on his shihakusho loosened as her white knuckles were starting to turn peach colored again.
"A dream?" Her words barely above a whisper her hand clenching to the front of his shihakusho once more. Hot tears falling to his flesh all over again. "I'm not. Strong. Enough. Without you." She spoke through sobs.

Gin kissed he forehead gently. "You are, Kita. You are. You've been amazing back there since I've left. Staying calm. Staying on Aizen's good side despite what he could be doing. Not ever correcting them on the matter of my death when you want to more than many things in this life.." Deftly he lifted her head to start kissing tears away.
Gin stayed like that giving her feather soft kisses below her eyes, catching the rain that fell from her eyes, for an hour at least. Finally, she started to calm down, her crying less wretched and tears less obvious.
Gin smiled softly at her, the smile only reserved for her. "There you go, dearie." He stroked her head. "You're going to be alright." He lifted her head again before it could fall against his damp chest and looked deep, deep into her eyes. Then, he kissed her, chastely.
"Welcome ba-" He whirled backwards as Kita sank her teeth into his lip and then suddenly, he flew across the floor of the cave away form her.
His eyes narrowed to slits. "Sumi!" he snarled. "What is it now? Why did she push me away like that?"
But before Sumi could answer, Kita spat. "Bastard! How dare you try to seduce me?!"
Gin's hands clenched. Somehow he was the enemy in her eyes. He dodged to the side as Kita's power lashed at him, splitting the rock face.
"Sumi!" he called out. "What. is. going on?" he growled.

"Bastard!" Kita spat at him again, her eyes narrowed at him as she pulled the kimono around her tightly. "You should be dead. I drove Shonsou through your heart and broke his blade off in your chest. I told you to say dead!" She glared at him through flaming eyes of blue. "Master Aizen said you were poison. A snake not only without a heart, but your fangs pure poison! He was right to take me from you so I could finally be free of your sick games!" She circled around him as he did the same trying to keep their distance. Their eyes never coming from one another.
"Why? Why did you use me like that? You gave me hope then ripped it away. All for your sick twisted game! Was it that humorous to watch me surrender to you? I thought you cared! I thought we were friends! I LOVED YOU!!" Her hand quickly went over her heart. "AND YOU RIPPED THAT OUT!! THROUGH IT TO THE GROUND AND STOMPED ON IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY--" her hand went quickly to her head as she wavered slightly.
"Gin..." her voice weak as her knees buckled under her and she started to collapse.
"Gin! Be careful! The hallucination is still with her!" Sumi cried out to him as he quickly moved toward Kita.

"HELL if I care!" Gin snapped, his fury towards Vale and his accursed blade reaching dangerous levels. He shunpo'd in front of Kita and caught her before she fell.
His rage died away. "Every lie I have ever told you was for your own good, dear one. You know that. Deep down, underneath all the darkness Aizen and Vale have planted, you know that." The hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he released her, leaping back just as his most precious person swung her powers at him again.
"Stay. Away. From me!" she hissed. Power hummed around her as she gathered it in her arms. "I belong. to Aizen. who cares. about. me!" She flung another destructive arc his way.
Gin blocked before falling backwards, barely able to hold his own against her.
"I'll lock her powers away," Sumi called from above his head.
"NO!" Gin hissed, standing again. "I won't let you."
"Gin!" Sumi exclaimed. "She could kill you."
"I don't care," Gin growled back. "I will get her back. I have to and it's not for anyone's sake but my own." He took a step forward and grinned at the livid form of Kita. "Sorry, dearie, but you should know I am stubborn." He spread his arms wide. "You'll have to strike better -"
A crimson tainted arch rushed towards him and slammed into his body. He turned to save his organs but still gasped as blood rushed from the severed muscles. "Like that~" he smirked, falling to one knee.

In Kita's mind she screamed as she watched Gin drop to one knee, blood dripping to the cave floor. She could not stop herself as she stepped toward him. "IT'S A DREAM! WAKE UP!" She stepped up to Gin as he kneeled to one knee in front of her. Grabbing a handful of his hair jerking his head back so he would looked up at her, Kita grinned.
"A new game for us to play." She pulled back her arm, her hand flat, her thumb tucked inward to her palm. "I like to call it payback."
Her hand started to glow crimson as a small chuckle escaped her. "Stay dead this time, okay."
Subconsciously Kita screamed out for Sumi as her hand traveled toward Gin's heart. "Block your powers from me! BLOCK THEM NOW!!"
Sumi did as Kita ordered, blocking her powers so she could not longer use them. Kita's hand stopped a hairs breath from Gin's chest.

Gin glanced upwards at her, same grin still on his face. “That’s cutting it kind of close, isn’t it?” he purred. He didn’t move. He didn’t want to make this worse, as he had already. Twice. “Kita?” he asked.
Kita's hand tightened in his hair then she quickly released it shoving him away from her. "Don't talk to me!" She hissed, turning and walking away from him. "I don't want to hear anymore of your lies!" While inside Kita was screaming to get out.
"Calm down, Kita. You're not going to break free unless you focus." Sumi growled at her.
Gin chuckled and laid out on the floor. "If I don't talk to you, dearie, how do you plan on leaving this area?" He waved his hand at the dozen of tunnels around them. " Which one will take you out, I wonder?" He closed his eyes, focusing. He could not harm her, even if his body was healing. Perhaps it was better to be separated again.... if she was free of all the pain. Locked away.
No!
He stood up. "I think I like to talk to you, so deal with it, pet~" he hissed, eyes vibrant behind his silver bangs. He was not going to let anyone else win, not this time. |

Kita spun on her heel and glared at him. "Don't patronize me, Ichi-maru." His name slipping from her lips snidely. She looked around the cave and started walking toward one of the openings. "You know he is coming for me. So why not just give up. You know you can't defeat him." She stopped and looked over her shoulder at him dismissively. "You might as well give up."
Turning back Kita quickly clutched at her head. "NO! GIN! SAVE ME. PLEASE!" Echoed through the cave. She dropped to her knees and screamed as her head arched back her hands gripped tightly in her hair.
"Kita! Focus!" Sumi called out to her. "If you force it you could cause damage to your mind!"
"I won't. Let him. Hurt. Gin. Not with. My. Body." She forced out of her mouth. "I WON'T!"
