Gin was across the room in an instant, holding her arms away from her head. "Kita, it will be alright. Let your alter ego attack me. Sumi won't let either of us die. Don't force it."
She pulled away from him and held her hands back to her head. "I. Won't. Do it," she bit out, falling to her knees, tears falling from her already puffy eyes. "I will. not. let you. hurt again."
Gin stood frozen, uncertain what to do, then shook his head and forced her back against one of the walls. "Kita!"
Gin's hands tightened around her arms, eyes boring into her mind. "I will never give up," he hissed. "Don't bite me." He kissed her again, softly, and let her go. "Never," he murmured.

Gin pressed his lips against Kita's. The tenderness of his lips against hers through a shock of warmth through her as she froze against the wall. Her wide eyes slowly going closed as her arms lifted and wrapped around his torso. She melted into the kiss pulling him closer.
I can do this. With him I can do this. I know I can.
She pulled him closer never wanting to let him go. Slowly the vision of the hallucination was fading.
"We have company." Sumi spoke softly looking toward the mouth on the cave.

Gin snarled. "What do you mean?" he asked tersely, holding Kita's trembling body in his arms.
"Vale's come back for her," Sumi explained. "Through his hallucinations, he's connected to Kita, and though he can't get past the final barrier yet, he won't leave." She paused. "He is not alone either. There are four others with him as well as a horde of weaker hollows."
Gin glared as Kita's eyes widened. "Which ones?" she asked, voice hesitant, holding onto Gin's arm with all her might.
Sumi almost didn't answer. "Vale, Loki, Starrk, Cassava, and Azayaka are the leaders," she murmured.
Gin hissed as Kita's fingers tightened painfully around his arm. "Kita, I can handle them," he stated, stroking her damp hair back from her face.
"NO WAY!"
Gin stumbled backwards as Kita pushed him. "You are not fighting them on your own," she growled, blue eyes bright. "You haven't had these powers long."
Gin's own eyes narrowed to slits, turning nearly blinding with his power. "I can handle them, and you are NOT going to fight." Kita stepped up to him and glared into his slitted eyes. Gin's hands clenched. He was not going to lose this one to her.

"Right!" Kita scold him poking the still healing injury she gave him. Gin winced in pain his eyes narrowing more. She stepped toward him and with each step spoke a forceful word. "YOU. ARE. NOT. DOING. THIS. ALONE."
Gin stepped back as she came toward him his hand over the spot she poked. "I am SO SICK of you thinking you're alone in this! YOU'RE NOT! YOU NEVER WERE! WHY? WHY WON'T YOU LET ME HELP!?" Her words demanded an answer as she stepped toward him.

She was stubborn but vulnerable. Fear ran through her. Worry weighed on her. And he… He took advantage of it. Before she could react, he had shunpo’d both of them to his bed, pinning her down beneath him. “Because I won’t take any chances of losing your light,” he hissed. He kissed her and at her moment of relaxation, he knocked her out. He lingered there above her for a moment then pulled away, soothing the hair from her face. His words had been simple, but they were anything but. His mind flashed to the first time she had found him on the roof of the shop. He chuckled. She had seen him in the corner and skipped over to greet him. He could still recall how intensely confused he had been by her, staring down at her in silence, eyes narrowed. Especially when he had minced no disgust at her the night before. Then he had turned away. The shopkeeper, cat, and brat started a ruckus about his bad behavior, saying it was incurable, and she had laughed. “I will push you off,” Gin spat, as soon as he felt the hairs shiver on the back of his neck, knowing she was there.
“No, you won’t,” Kita declared, sitting right next to him, smiling deviously and unafraid. “You’re too nice for that,” she said, looking back up at the clouds, “at least with me, that is.”
Gin shook his head. “I am far too soft with you. You’re right.” He stood up and then paused outside the door, erecting another barrier. “I wish I knew exactly why.” He didn't. It just came to one simple phrase. He couldn't lose her. The fox stayed like that for a moment and then vanished.
