"Hideaway":
Sumi opened the portal far away from Las Noches and to the entrance to a cave system in mountainous terrain. Gin watched a few adjuchas hollows desert their perches further up the rocks as she shooed them away with her hand. He turned around, shading his eyes and sending his senses out. He could barely sense the source of bloodlust in the Forest of the Menos and a faint glow of power from the Palace beyond that.
"Where are we?"
"Past the dune sea," Sumi replied, starting to walk into the cave behind him. "Are you coming?"
Gin gazed at the taint in the direction of the moon. Soon, Aizen... you will no longer suffocate everything around you....
"I do have other things to do besides show you the way to water and finish healing you," Sumi called over to him.
Gin chuckled. "I can take care of myself." He turned around but found himself pausing. For what, he wasn't sure. Sumi shouted for him again, further into the darkness, and Gin walked into the cave.
He ducked his head around a lower dip in the ceiling. "What about Aizen's scouts?" he asked as they walked through the twilight-like paths. "They get quite far when they're recruiting."
"I have it covered," Sumi returned, waving her hand behind her. Then, she stopped.
Gin could feel that something was wrong. "What is it?" he hissed.

It was Kita. She was distressed and nightmares were filling her once pleasant dreams. She could feel the pull on Kita's heart and mind as it was slowly tearing her down from everything she endured the last twelve hours. Sumi sighed, her eyes closed as she shook her head.
"It's nothing." She told him trying not to upset him further. She knew if she did tell him, she might have her hands full with the bullhead soul reaper to go back, or worse, try to remove Kita from Las Noches as well.
"Come on. Lets get you settled in." She pushed froward through the cave.

Gin's eyes narrowed to slits as his weariness vanished to be replaced by fury and hate. Aizen.... After everything he had done to Kita last night, he still wasn't satisfied.
"I will destroy her and build her back up so she will not remember you. She will be my masterpiece of destruction and mayhem."
Whirling around too fast to see, the snake slammed the goddess into the nearest wall. "Go to her. Now. Or I will," he hissed in warning.
He would never allow that to happen.
He would not let Kita suffer so Sumi could 'escort' him around his new den. "I will find my own way. You belong with Kita now," he said, loosening his hold yet tone still harsh.

Sumi placed her hand in the centre of Gin's chest pushing him back from her slowly like she was pushing on nothing. Her eyes narrowed as she looked into his. "Even if I were there, this is not something I can prevent." She tilted her head, "unless you want me to block her memories of you?"
Gin stumbled back his eyes wide, shocked that the Goddess even said that to him. She stepped around him and headed back on her path to the centre of the cave.

“There’s nothing you can do?” he inquired, voice hoarse. Sumi sighed. “Not unless his attacks start wounding her soul deeply and affecting me,” she replied. She started walking again. “I told you before that if I have to intervene and lock her away again that she would not be coming back until she was free. That would have dire consequences for those around her, so she will endure. “ “If-” Sumi paused as Gin spoke again, “if it would help her endure, I don’t mind if she forgets me,” he whispered, silver bangs hiding his eyes and most of his expression. It wouldn’t matter how much it would hurt him in the process. To lose her. He could bear it… Probably.
“That’s not an option and you know it,” Sumi snapped at him, breaking him from his creeping depression. He looked up and she folded her arms. “You said you would protect her and right now, those memories are the best thing between her soul and Aizen.”
Gin lowered his head again, recalling the last time they had spoken, the promise he had pulled from her. He chuckled wryly, realizing that he had broken that by running away. “When will she find out that I am no longer in a cell?” he asked.

Sumi sighed as her arms dropped to her sides. "Very soon. Aizen is going to take her to the cell to prove to her you are truly dead." She walked over to Ichimaru resting her hand to his shoulder.
"You might get to see her sooner than you anticipated if it plays on her like I fear." Her hand slid from his shoulder. "I can't have her falling apart like a delicate butterfly."

Gin's fleeting humor vanished. "Yeah," he muttered, turning away and clenching his hands. As pain blossomed through his palms, he started forward again. "That would be bad..." he whispered.

"However, her finding out you are still alive could be dangerous as well. We are playing with a double edge sword here and it is hard to know how it will affect Kita in what we allow her to believe."
She turned from Ichimaru with a sigh. "I can't do anything until that blasted collar comes off her. I can't let Aizen know he has lost the battle with that one." Sumi became silent in a almost eerie silent.

Gin’s eyes narrowed as rage and suspicion pushed sorrow aside again. “What now?” he demanded. Sumi sighed. “I know now that Aizen can use Kyoka Suigetsu on myself,” she stated.
Gin’s eyes widened and he stomped over to her. “Why haven’t you said so before?” he hissed. “Do you have any idea what Aizen could do with that power? Does he know that? Does he?”
“I imagine he will test that soon enough with his plans of breaking her,” Sumi murmured. She started forward again. “He will be limited in what it can do to me as it will only last a short time, but with Kita, I don’t know how that will affect her.”
Gin whirled around.
“Where are you going?’
“You have to ask?!” he spat. “I am returning to Las Noches. At least, if I am there, Aizen has to split his attention between the two of us. With me gone, it won’t have any reason to alter his focus from Kita. I am going back! That knowledge makes it all the more important for me to be there. I'm the only one who's been around that blade long enough that I am only fooled by his illusions half the time!”

Sumi raised her hand as she shook her head. An invisible box rose up around Gin stopping him flat. "You can't go back, Ichimaru. It has already been found out you are no longer there in your cell. They are already looking for you in force."
She then lifted her other hand raising a layered barrier that covered a full mile radius around the cave. The barrier growing stronger as the layers covered the centre of the cave where Gin would be staying. "It is done; and to protect you and Kita you have no choice but to remain here now." She stepped toward the raging, belligerent and over emotional soul reaper.
"You will listen to me and do as I say. If you renege on this we could lose Kita."

Gin snarled wordlessly and stood still, head down, mind going over all that Kita had had to witness and feel since being brought to Las Noches. And his promise to her. After a few minutes, he sighed and turned back around.
Still watching him closely, Sumi dismissed the box that held him. “Do I have your word you won’t return?” He nodded. “She hasn’t been punished?” Gin asked in turn.
“No, she has not. Aizen is more amused by this outcome than angered.” A glimmer of a smirk rose on the goddess’ lips. “It is Vale who was angered by this occurrence.”
Gin chuckled. “I wish I could have seen his face. Then again, I doubt it would be as good as Azayaka and Loki, if that freak has been put together yet.”

Sumi chuckled softly, "he was actually scared from your disappearance." She looked to Gin and motioned with her head. "Come on. We are almost there." The two continued on their way.
After a few more minutes, Gin and Sumi found themselves in the centre of the cave. To Gin's surprise it was lit fairly well from above. As his head cocked upward he noticed why. Luminescent crystals glowed above them. The opening was rather roomy with a high ceiling, a burn pit in the centre, a small table and two chairs made from the trees around Hueco Mundo. Off in the back was another opening covered with hides of some sort that covered the opening. Sumi looked around as she stood next to the burn pit.
"A soul reaper lived here at one time. I thought it would be perfect for you." She watched as Gin walked back toward the covered opening lifting the hides he looked into the room. "I am guessing they used that as a bedroom."

Gin chuckled. “I’m surprised a place that smells of soul reaper is still intact after all these years.” He kicked something in the sand and knelt down, pulling out a small clay bowl. He raised his find with a grin. “It even has a few trinkets lying around, he called over to Sumi. Sumi shook her head at him in amusement. “There’s wood in the opposite corner than the bed, if you haven’t seen it, and a pool of water-” “Over here by the tiny sprout of water in the wall,” Gin finished for her. He reappeared, waving an old medical kit. “More treasures are in there behind a small boulder,” he stated. “I have to wonder if it was 12th division back when it was first formed who came here.”
Sumi placed her hands on her hips. “I didn’t heal you enough to be moving heavy rocks,” she admonished.
Gin waved his hands. “You healed me fine. I’ve grown used to it.”

Sumi motioned for Ichimaru to come to her. When he did, stopping in front of her, she pressed her palm to his forehead. "Brace yourself."
Ichimaru stood with his feet shoulder width apart his head slightly cocked wondering what Sumi was about to do. When a jolt of power surged through him and he stumbled back slightly as Sumi caught his hand to steady him. He grinned wide like a mad hatter. He could feel the power coursing through him to his very core as he flexed his hands looking at them.
Sumi looked into his eyes reaching into her pocket, she lifted out the box Urahara created for him. "When you are out of the bounds of the cave. You use this to hide your reiatsu when training." Ichimaru took the small box from her outreached hand. Nodding his eyes locked with hers again. "With great power, Ichimaru you have a great responsibility. I trust you and I expect you to keep the dark side of your person under control." Her look now serious. "Please, do not make me have to make Kita's greatest fear come to reality." She turned to leave as Ichimaru stopped her. "Wait."She turned to look at him once more not replying only waiting for him to respond. "When can I see her?"Sumi smiled with a soft chuckle. "I will try to bring her here in the next week or so. If not. Do not come looking for her. It just means I could not get her away from Aizen." "Understood..." he said nothing more, looking down at the box and the power swirling in his eyes.
Sumi nodded turning back around she vanished from his sight.
