"A Teacher's Persuasion": Sajin watched over the students of the academy, shaking his head at the poor performances of the students training. Some worked with unsteady hands quaking with fear. Others could not avert their eyes from his large looming frame long enough to pick up their blades.
The wolf Captain growled loudly, frightening the students below. Jumping from the balcony from which he watched, Sajin narrowed his eyes as he look from student to student.
"If I am a distraction for you, I would hate to see any of you frightened fools on a battle field!" Sajin growled lowly. "What will you do if an opponent much bigger than myself, much more beastly than I, comes charging at you with intent to kill you? Will you just stand there, fumbling with your blade?"
Sajin grabbed the closest student to him by the back of his keikogi. He lifted the man to eye level and growled loudly. The man dropped his blade to the ground before Sajin released him. Shaking his head as the man ran away, Sajin looked to rest of the group.
"Hm...I am not the worse thing you will face in your life time. If this is what the Soul Society has to offer, I fear for my people."

"Fear cuts deeper than any sword, Captain Komamura." murmured Satoshi, causing the Captain to turn and face him. He bowed slightly, enough to keep his crutch from slipping beneath his arm.
"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man." Satoshi pushed his needless frames along his nose. "They fear the uncertainty looming over the Soul Society, more than they fear you."
The Captain bowed, turning back toward the dazed students.
"I need to speak to you about your wife, Captain Komamura. Why you wish for her to step down."

"The answer to that question is simple, Tetsuya-san." answered Sajin, folding his arms over his chest. "But, that is an answer you will not easily obtain." Sajin waved his hand, dismissing the man.
"We are on a training field, Captain. Fight me. And, if I win, you speak with me. If I do not," Satoshi paused, adjusting himself on the crutch. "You will hear nothing else from me on the matter."
"I will not fight an ill man." growled Sajin. He turned to the sound of the man's crutch falling to the ground.

Satoshi disappeared from his place near the Captain, reappearing in the center of the training field. He drew his blade, pointing it toward the Captain.
"But, let us make this more interesting, shall we?" Satoshi's blade glowed blue, as a wave of energy spread throughout the field. Raising his hand as invisible threads connected to the Captain, Satoshi flexed his fingers making his threads visible for only a second.
"If you win, I will return to Captain Commander Kyoraku and request to take Captain Hiraayashi's position."
Satoshi pulled his hand, yanking at the threads and pulling the Captain from his place.

Sajin growled as he hit the ground. Hard. He rolled, springing to his feet. Grabbing Tetsuya by the neck as he rose to his feet, Sajin growled loudly as he pulled the man closer.
"A fight will not happen!" he growled, bearing his fangs. "I will not fight you, Tetsuya-san. Captain Hirabayashi and I have decided what is to be done. And, we have made the Captain Commander aware of that decision." Sajin set the man to the ground and let him go, keeping a hand close in the event that he stumbled.
"Tetsuya-san, I will forever grateful to you...For relieving my wife of her position. But, I do not believe that is what you've come for. Why are you here?"

Satoshi placed his hand on the Captain's arm, bracing himself. He looked up to the large Captain whose golden eyes focused on him. "I am in no condition to take charge of the Ninth Division, right now. I would like for Captain Hiabayashi to remain in her position until I am well enough."
"Of course."
"There is also the matter of your Lieutenant."
"I have not had a Lieutenant, since Iba stepped down." replied Sajin. "Are you suggesting that Ryo becomes my Lieutenant?"
Satoshi shook his head, reaching for his crutch that a student had retrieved for him. "No, I am suggesting that your wife stay with the Ninth Division. And, that Shuhei Hisagi be moved to the Seventh Division to act as your Lieutenant."

Sajin waved his hand, dismissing the student lingering about. "Is this something that the Captain Commander is suggesting?"
"No." Tetsuya answered, taking his crutch from a student kind enough to retrieve it. "It would be in the best interest of the Ninth Division if Captain Hirabayashi stayed with them. And, I believe that Shuhei Hisagi would benefit your division. Yours does signify courage, after all."
Sajin nodded running a hand through his silver man. "I see. This is something to be discussed with the both of them and the Captain Commander."

"And, it will be." said Satoshi. "There is something else." Satsohi sighed heavily, taking a seat at the table. "Seto Tetsuya. Or, as you know him, Vale Tervaden. During our last meeting, I took from him a couple of zanpakuto in his possession. One belonging to the Substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki. The other belonging to a Yumiko Ryouma."
The Captain nodded. "And, what would you like for me to do?"
Satoshi pulled the two zanpakuto from his obi and placed them on the table. "Deliver then to Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya. I can never find him. And, it is my understanding that the two of your are close."

Sajin chuckled. "You could say that." He nodded, taking the zanpakuto. "But, I will see to it that he gets them and takes them home. Is that all Tetsuya-san?"Satoshi nodded, lifting his crutch pointing at a new group of students returning to the training field. "Perhaps, Captain, you should spar with them instead of hovering."Sajin nodded, stepping away from the man and returning to the students. He heard the man whisper a thank you before he drew his zanpakuto to begin his lesson.-END RP-

"Blossoming":Yumichika smiled as the students around him performed the moves he had taught them. At first, he had been shocked at his desire to do more for Soul Society other than rebuild his division and make the people their tougher, but then, he’d seen some urchins in the roadway of the Rukon’s darker districts attempting to teach other how to fight. Not to just run away. It had struck something in him. Something he thought gone. So he had volunteered to aide the academy. He smirked, recalling Ikkaku’s need to join him but not having quite the temperament for it. And tripped the nearest boy with his staff, sending him flying backwards. “Don’t close your eyes,” he murmured. “It’s the biggest proof of your weakness. Your fear.” He caught a woman’s arm. “And don’t just back up. It lets your enemy think he’s winning.” He paused and adjusted his grip before moving in front of her. “If you must take a step back,” he purred, sliding her behind him, “remember that it will make it more difficult to win.” The boy she was fighting attacked him and he twirled his staff upwards and spinning it backwards. “Give yourself a plan.” He snaked his staff down and flipped, disarming the student. “And keep a better hold on your blade. You don’t know if you can be fast enough to retrieve it.” He tapped the student’s hands. And stepped away from the woman, bowing. “Again.” A flutter of blue caught his eye. “Actually disengage and return to drills.” Groans issued. He grinned, eyes gleaming. “Are you too weak for that?” Silence greeted him. “Then start running around the field. After you have completed …. ten laps, then you will start the drills for “taming the dragon.” His face broke out into a wide smile. “Do begin.” “Did you have to give them what you deem to be ‘taming of the dragon’ after the laps?” a voice murmured behind him. “You know that’s a difficult one.” Yumichika swung his staff over his shoulder and ran a hand through his hair. “It’’s been a while since they have had the audacity to groan about my instruction,” he reasoned. “They must be reminded.” He reached into his haori. “And I do not like to be watched when I intend to bestow a token on a lover.”

“Thank you, but no thank you, Ayase,” Yumiko replied, taking the origami flower and putting it in her kimono. “I am not going to accept, no matter how many times you offer or believe using that name will get to me.”
Ayase chuckled. “What if I said I don’t know what you’re talking about and that an evening blossom must always have admirers~” He bowed and kissed her hand. “Would that change your mind?” Yumiko shook her head in friendly exasperation. “I just wanted to say thank you for the other night.” She looked down for a moment before raising her head again, a glint in her eyes. “I had hoped after three years that any attempts to harm me would have passed. But it was nice to be reminded that I am not alone.”
Yumichika nodded. “You are welcome. And I hoped you enjoyed the play.” He paused. “You have proven yourself to most, Yumi-hime, but there will always be spots of ugliness.” He tossed his staff at her which she caught, watching him kick up another one. “The trick is to be strong enough to ignore them.” He vanished.
Yumiko closed her eyes, set a hand on Mizue and listened with her senses. A ring echoed out. She swirled around, crossing her staff with Ayase’s as he reappeared. Yumichika’s eyes gleamed. “At least stay to dance, fair nobility.” He pushed her backwards, and Yumiko arched her staff in a butterfly sweep before slashing outwards, pushing him away with Kido.
Her eyes narrowed.
When Yumiko had first returned to Soul Society, it had been difficult for her. There were a lot of rumors flying about her, none of them nice, calling her witch, traitor, whore, and worse. Because of the connection to the man who had brought them to their knees. And because she was trying to return. Granted a bulwark through her father’s family and Vale’s final words, she didn’t quit. And surrendered Mizue no Kagami when she wanted to take a step off the Ukitake estate. And she stayed silent at the whispers around her when she was allowed to help at Fourth Division, under close supervision. She’d decided not to give up.

Yumichika smiled in pleasure as the wave of kido sent him backwards and took the opportunity to bow and draw his own blade. Shunpo’ing forwards, he clashed with the hard staff. Dark eyes warm, he morphed his blade silently and flung the staff away before reaching for Yumiko’s arm. Only to meet with a wall which he harmlessly bounced off of.
He set the blade on his arm. “Where did the Jewel of the Noble’s Houses disappear to? And will I ever see her again?” he whispered. He waited, calling up a Shakkaho bolt which rested in his hand. “And when,” he purred, “did I say you could stop?”
Yumichika flung the bolt at the clump of students who scattered like sheep. He clicked his tongue in disapproval and examined the swirls of dust for the hint of movement.
A flicker of a form.
Recalling his blade, he grabbed a staff and flung a swirl of Tenran at the nearly concealed form of Yumiko.

Yumiko gasped, her kimono swirling around her as her cloak of Kyokko broke against the almost physical onslaught of Tenran before twirling her blade up, waking Mizue and twisting the kido form upwards. As it twisted into a dragon and attacked Ayase, she smiled.
It was really ironic that the power that had condemned her had given her the opening for another chance. She looked down - to the spidery scar peeking up from the right side of her collarbone. Barely visible.
It had happened during an outing in the second year. She had felt trapped and overcome with melancholy. And just wanted to get out. She disguised herself and dragged Naomi to Rukongai on Market Day. Naomi had called Kairo and Ayase just in case something happened.
And then a pack of hollows appeared.
As Kairo, Naomi, and Ayase drew their blades, Yumiko drew the nameless asauchi at her hip and lashed out with kido. She got too close, but just as she realized that, a civilian ducked behind her, mumbling about the peace being an illusion that would break. That would end. Again.
She stayed her ground, wincing as the hollows pincer ripped into her right side, and then unleashed a wave of lightning at its head. Destroying it.
“It won’t end,” she’d whispered. “As long as you believe in it, this peace won’t break that easily.”
Then, when her father had come with a squad of division 13 after he heard she’d been wounded, she’d reached for the second sword at his side, slid the wig off, and amplified Naomi’s powers with Mizue no Kagami's reflection. Her violet eyes daring others to take her away and stop her from saving more lives.
She’d lost the locket in that fight.
But not the ring.
And she didn’t let go of Mizue no Kagami again.

Yumichika continued to smile as he and Yumiko continued their sparring match with their respective powers. As much of their true powers as they were content to show. Time had helped her cause. And though she didn’t like to see it, she knew it wasn’t the only thing. Power. By stepping into the future, maybe even losing that locket she kept looking at, Yumiko had stopped holding back. And it shone through. Brilliantly. She wove kido and her zanpakuto’s powers effortlessly together and could disappear with the cloak of Kyokko just as easily. She didn't keep her head down. And there were rumors for those listening of more. Yumichika grinned. But he wouldn’t spoil the surprise. He'd enjoyed the dance and colors displayed so far too much to do that. He just hoped her determination and newfound resolution to belong where she wished to no matter what wouldn’t fade. If the promise on that ring proved to be broken. Three years in times of change was a long wait.
