Kisuke looked to Vacanze and the others, "the flame would be best and try not to let it rest on your skin. We don't need another mess like Ryo has here." He then looked to Kita motioning her to come toward him after she helped Yumiko take a seat herself.
"I need you to finish up with Ryo while Vacanze and I go take care of a few things. I need to know what this fire is feeding on."
Kita nodded and knelled in front of Ryo and spoke. "The reiatsu."
"What?" Kisuke questioned.

"Yes, it is feeding on the energy around it. The reishi in the Soul Society. It's the only logical explanation. That fire out there is burning out of control and it is still feeding to building and object that are nothing but ash. Soul Society is pure energy. It won't stop until everything and everyone is destroyed."
Kita did not look away from Ryo's leg as she continued to heal it. "And it seems it is feeding on the reiatsu of the soul reapers from the inside out."

Juushiro let Kisuke help him back to his cot where he sat down again, looking for a moment towards Nanao who had finally passed out in her position against Shunsui’s hand. He smiled slightly before it faded. He looked towards his worn-out student and then back to Kisuke and Vacanze. “Be careful.”
Yumiko stood again. "I can help more."
"No, you won't!" Kita, Vacanze, and Juushiro said together.

Kisuke looked from Yumiko back to Kita and smiled. "I have to agree with you, Sweetie. I think this fire is feeding off the reishi around us and if that is a fact there maybe be no way to really stop it. Unless..." He drew his hand to his chin and rubbed.
"What Kisuke?" Vacanze asked.
Kisuke shook his head, "first I need to get a sample. Then we will see if I am correct." He walked toward the door as Vacanze turned and followed him out.

"Yumiko can help," Toshiro said from his seated position, "I have used too much energy to move, but Hyourimaru can secure a sample of the flame. In it's ice crystal form. She can use him in my stead."

"If it's feeding on reishi, Captain, then your ice is as good as thawed." Ryo shook her head as Miyamoto continued to heal her leg. She looked over to Komamura, who quickly looked away as she smiled. "...Big baby..." Ryo dropped Komamura's zanpakuto and looked to Miyamoto then to Ukitake. "If it is indeed feeding off reishi, could the god help?"

Juushiro shook his head. "Sumi is a seraph, a collector of history. She can do much protecting her vessel, but stopping these kind of flames would be out of her reach, I believe. Especially if we wish her to keep healing the commander." He paused. "If there was another-"
He halted as Yumiko interrupted.

"There is another god that is walking among us," she stated quietly. "And he's not the same as Sumi." The noble lowered her head to her folded hands. "Vale has a god on his side, and his name is Alister. I don't know what he wants."

Sumi appeared to the ones in the room her hands folded in front of her as she looked to each one. "I will offer this one piece of information to you. The God Alister is here only by order of the Soul King, returning balance back to Las Noches. Perhaps the God of fire only stayed out of curiosity for the havoc that was caused by the man he returned there."
Kita looked to Sumi with wide eyes, "so does that mean he will not help? If he is here to preserve the balance should he not help the Soul Society? If he doesn't the balance will surly be destroyed."
Sumi shook her head, "I cannot speak for the other Gods and what they will and will not do. The God of fire is one of mayhem, carnage and destruction. He shows little to no mercy for anyone."

Vacanze walked in with a containment jar in his hands, Kisuke following in behind him. A sample of the fire burning brightly within the cylinder. He looked at Toshiro and grinned. "I think that fall did damage to your head there, little man. Phoenix is an Espada. The only thing she is going to do is make this fire hotter and give it more bite."
He chuckled lightly and set the cylinder to a table in the room, turning he looked at Toshiro with a wide grin. "That is unless you and the Flame Princess have something going on, on the side you have yet to inform us about."
He poked playfully as he walked over leaning against the wall still smiling like a Cheshire cat. "Hmmmmm?"

As Toshiro glared and blushed deeply, making the former espada and shopkeeper chuckle, Juushiro walked slowly over to Yumiko's chair, taking her hand in his. His eyes were narrowed in concern. "He didn't hurt you, did he? Vale?"
Yumiko looked downwards and shook her head. Juushiro decided not to press the matter.
He looked back to Kisuke. "That didn't take long, old friend."

"Mayuri is still having issues in his lab. There was no way I could have gotten in there and done anything in the way of research." He walked over to the cylinder and lifted the lid on the fire. "Vacanze. Stop holding up the wall and come here."
Vacanze blinked a few times and pushed off the wall where he rested walking over next to Kisuke. "Give me your shirt."
"What?"
"Give. Me. Your. Shirt." Kisuke repeated.
"Why my shirt? Why not someone else's?" Vacanze questioned.
"Because your cloths are the only clothes that were not made here in Soul Society." Kisuke informed him.
"Then burn that ugly ass hat of yours. That was not made here." Vacnaze looked to Kita, "and what about her clothes? They were not made here."
Kisuke looked to Vacanze with annoyed look. "Just give me your damn shirt. I will buy you another."
Vacanze grunted and removed his jacket then his shirt. Kisuke then took the shirt and started ripping it into strips. Vacanze cringed with each rip. When Kisuke was done he lifted one of the strips above the cylinder and lit it on fire. Quickly Kisuke tossed it in the air and trapped it in a sealing barrier, then drained all energy from within the barrier. Slowly the fire burned, flickered, then totally went out, once the fabric was completely burned to ash.
He then looked around the room finding a roll of white gauze. He did the same with it trapping it as well in the barrier and removing all energy. Even after the gauze strip was nothing but ash the flame still burned bright and hot within the barrier.

Toshiro made a ball of ice and passed it to Kisuke. "Let's test it with a water base. If it doesn't work we need to inform everyone currently fighting fires to stop. Then maybe get water brought over from the human realm."

Kisuke took the ball and tossed it in the air and caught it. "I will tell you now it will burst into flames. I can feel the energy flowing off this chunk of ice." He hovered it over the flame as it did just as he said. He tossed it back in the air and captured it in a barrier. The group watched the now ball of fire blaze away within the field Kisuke created. Kisuke drew his hand to his chin and went into thought. |
