Post by Lt. Renji Abarai on Mar 16, 2015 19:36:06 GMT -6
Renji halted when the stealth member appeared in front of him and his Captain. However, the words he spoke past by deaf ears as he watched the group around the the fallen Captain Commander. Was it true? Had the Captain Commander fallen? Who did this? Was it yet another Espada with strength even beyond their Commander? Renji could feel his rage growing, festering and ready to explode. First Captain Ukitake, then Captain Kuchiki. Now. Now the main pillar of the Gotei 13, along with many others that were severely injured, wounded or just overwhelmed by the mass destruction that now swallowed the Soul Society in a whole. This would be something that would take years for them to move past. The rebuilding will be enough, but the scars, nightmares, physical and mental damage alone will be enough to hold them back or maybe even cripple them for years to come. "Lieutenant Abarai," the voice of his Captain echoed in his mind bring him back to the reality of the screams, cries and rushing feet around him. "The Commander needs Kita." He lifted from Renji's support and looked at his lieutenant. "That is an order. Go. Retrieve Kisuke and the others. Move swiftly. The Commanders life rest in your hands." Renji nodded with a determined look in his eyes. "I will be back before you know I was even gone." With that Renji disappeared from the chaos of the Soul Society. Meanwhile: "Afermath Retrieval":

The noble captain turned his eyes back to the chaos of the ward in front of him. Captain Komamura rushed past him, returning to aid in the rescue missions. The head healer released Ise from an embrace before spelling the Captain Commander into a sleep. As she called a group of hovering healers towards her, another healer came towards him. Byakuya accepted the simple kimono in his hands but raised his hand before the boy could start healing him. “There are others worse off than me. Tend to them.” The young healer nodded before hurrying to a couple rushing in with a soul reaper on a stretcher, blood pouring from a large hole in his side. The noble closed his eyes in acknowledgement before looking back towards where Ukitake had sat, only to see him standing with another group, his arms around a young male and female crying. Both uniforms and faces were covered in blood and gore.
From a comrade whose face a healer covered, too late to save him or her. The noble wondered if the kinder noble's words of encouragement would have the same power today….

"Last Shot: Aftermath": (continue) When Kita arrived at Soul Society with Renji the sky was blackened the putrid smell of burning flesh, hair, wood, stone, and paper wafted the once fresh air that Kita remembered last time she visited. Screams and cries echoed around her as shinigami rushed around them, she dared not look back behind them as she followed behind Renji as he gently tugged on her arm to get her to pick up her feet and move faster. Finally, Kita snapped out of her trance and picked up her pace. The Captain Commander needed Sumi, and her dragging her feet was not getting them any closer to helping him.
Once inside the medical ward Renji stopped looking around for someone to direct them to the Commander. From behind Juushiro walked up to them.
“Lieutenant Abarai, Kita.” The both turned to the sound of his voice and bowed slightly. “Captain Ukitake,” Renji addressed him. “Is he…” “He was placed in a deep sleep to help him rest and not over exert himself.” Juushiro told Kita resting his hand on her shoulder. “Thank you for coming so quickly.” He stepped past them, “follow me. I will take you to him.” Following Juushiro, he led them to the back of the ward, back, back toward the furthest corner in the ward. When they entered they saw Nanao with Captain Kotetsu. Nanao sat holding Kyoraku’s hand as Captain Kotetsu hovered over the Commander healing him from the inside out. Kita’s eyes drifted to the Commander as he laid on the table only a towel over his midsection. His body was bloody, bruised and broken. Lacerations upon lacerations some gaping wide, some smaller then a paper cut. This was definitely the work of Chinmoku and his wielder Vale Tervaden. Kita’s hand rose to her forehead as she lowered her head, hot tears flowed down her cheeks and her chest tightened as she bit at her bottom lip.
Feeling a tug on her hand she looked up quickly seeing the tear stained face of Nanao. Her eyes begged for Kita to come with her toward Kyoraku.“Please. Kita. Save him. Please.” Nanao tugged gently but urgently as she stepped backward back toward the bed the Commander was laying on. “Please don’t let him die. Only the Goddess can save him.” Nanao’s voice begged as she stepped aside letting Kita step fully up beside the bed.She looked at Kyoraku again; he did not even look like himself he was beaten so badly. Sniffling Kita lifted her head and eyes to Captain Kotetsu and nodded. She returned her nod and stopped healing Kyoraku and stepped back from the bedside. At that point, Kita lifted her hands over the Commander as a bright radiant white and soft blue light surrounded him. Slowly Kita’s eyes closed as she exhaled slowly and relaxed, letting the healing powers of Sumi flow through her freely. “Don’t rush this Kita. He is badly injured. I don’t need you collapsing.” Sumi spoke to her in her mind, “Captain Kotetsu was able to control a lot of the internal bleeding, but it has not stopped. Do as she was and heal him from the inside out. Pay no mind to the minor injuries they will heal on their own. Put all my power into the major issues.”Kita only nodded her head and took a deep relaxing breath and exhaled again. Her heart rate slowed and her tears dried up as she placed all concentration on the man in front of her and did as Sumi advised, focusing on all Kyoraku’s internal injuries. Searching throughout his body, finding them, she placed the healing powers there and let them flow into each of his damaged organs.
This was going to be a long day for all of them…Fade

"Impeding the Inferno":Kisuke walked in the room where Kyoraku was resting. Nanao was sitting at his side holding his hand has her thumb brushed softly against the back of his hand. Juushiro was asleep on a makeshift futon they arranged for him in the room to be close and Isane was hovering over Kita as Kita sat in a chair at the foot of the bed Kyoraku occupied. He walked further in the room as Kita looked up from the tea Isane was trying to get her to drink. Giving her a tired but reassuring smile as he adjusted his hat he walked over to her kneeling down beside her. He rested his hand to her free hand that sat on her lap. “You hanging in there, Sweetie?” Kita smiled wearily as a tear trickled down her cheek. “Kyoraku will be alright. He is a tough old bird. Just like me and Juushiro. He is not going to go down this easily.” Without saying a word she leaned forward wrapping her arms around his neck and gave him a hug. Returning her hug with a tight hug of his own he pulled from the hug and stood looking back at Kyoraku then back to Isane. “How is he doing?”

Isane smiled nodding her head as she looked back to Kita. "She is a miracle worker. What she has done today; if I would have been doing this--the Commander would still be in danger.”
Kita shook her head looking up at them from her tea. “It’s not me. It’s Sumi.” Kita lifted and looked at her one free hand as she shook her head. “Without her I am nothing but a simple human. Nothing more.”
Isane watched as Kisuke raised his hand and placed it to the top of Kita’s head. “That’s not true. Look what you have done for Ichimaru.”
Kita took Kisuke’s hand from the top of her head as it shook slowly. “Yeah. Look what I have done for him.” Her tone melancholy as she stood slowly placing her cup to the table next to her, not looking at the pair again as she walked toward the door in the room.
“Kita, you need to rest.” Isane’s calm voice called out to her.
Raising his hand Kisuke shook his head and looked to Kita as she walked from the room.
“She really needs to sit and rest she has been healing the Commander since she arrived, and that was hours ago,” Isane stressing the end of her statement.
“Kita will be fine. Let her go relax the way she sees fit.” Kisuke informed her.
With a soft sigh Isane nodded and looked back to Kyoraku, his head tossing slightly from side to side as he mumbled incoherently.
“How is Ichimaru?”

Kisuke adjusted his hat and looked at Isane with a raised brow. “This is a change. Since when did you care for or about Ichimaru?”
Isane chuckled softly, “I am a doctor. I am curious only because my medical knowledge requires me to be. And it is more worry for Kita then that Sliver-haired Fox.” She sighed shaking her head. “I just don’t understand how a girl like Kita fell for a man like Ichimaru. He is dangerous.”
Kisuke chuckled and rested his hand to her shoulder. “Yes. He is, but if it were not for him; Aizen would still be alive and the hell we are facing right now would only be the start of his crushing us off little by little.”
“Maybe so, but what happens when Ichimaru awakes from this coma?” Isane asked him.
Kisuke smiled from under his hat. “He will be a father and a lover to the girl he himself fell in love with. You will not need to worry about Ichimaru--believe it or not,” Kisuke’s hand slid from Isane’s shoulder as he walked over to Kyoraku bedside, Nanao looking at him with questioning eyes as she listened to their conversation.
“Kita has changed that Sliver-haired Fox.” He looked to Nanao and smiled. “Love is a strong element in a person. It can move mountains and if coming from the right person,” Kisuke’s smile widened as he still looked at Nanao. “Amazing things can happen and take place.”
He looked to both the women still smiling, "don't judge Ichimaru just yet. See for your own how he has truly changed. You might be surprised."

Isane chuckled and stepped toward Kyoraku's bed as well. "You are a strange man Urahara Kisuke. A strange man."
He only looked at her and smiled as he took the seat Kita occupied moments before and watched her as she continued the healing on the Captain Commander. He sat there like he was waiting on something or someone. What she was not sure, and she did not question his actions she was sure there was reason behind him waiting there. She continued with the healing on the Commander as long as she could as more and more injured were brought in from fighting the still raging inferno outside division fours gates.

Sajin stepped lightly into to the Captain Commander's room, Captain Hirabayashi dangling beneath his arm. He blushed as her petite frame flailed and cursed in his grasp. "Captain Kotetsu..." He set her gently to the floor, lending her his zanpakuto for support. "Ryo-...Captain Hirabayashi's leg is broken. Her kind disposition seems to be, as well."
"Bite me, Sajin!" spat Hirabayashi.
Sajin gave a toothy smile, that quickly faded as he looked down to the Captain Commander. "Is he...alright?"

Kisuke rose to his feet with a slight chuckle raising his hand to Isane to stay put with Kyoraku and stepped toward Sajin and the injured Ryo. Kneeling in front of her he lifted her pant leg as he looked up at her. "Please don't hit me. I am not being fresh." He grinned and looked down at her leg examined it, "though I could be if you want me to." He chuckled softly as he touched the side of her calf causing Ryo to wince slightly, his head then started to shake.
"This is not a break. It may seem like one since the bone is protruding through the skin, but the bone has actually been burned to ash." He adjusted his hat shaking his head again. "I can start healing this, but this is something the Goddess could take better care of."
He looked back up at Ryo, "what were you doing standing in the middle of the blaze?"
His hands were placed on either side of her leg as he started to heal her injury.

Ryo smiled at Komamura's low growling as Urahara placed his hands to her leg. She bit her lip in an effort to hide her discomfort. "Fire is my element, Urahara. And, I was fine until a burning building fell on me." Using Komamura's zanpakuto, she supported herself as Urahara continued to work on her leg. "The fire wasn't hot enough to burn my skin. So, how could it burn my bone to ash?"

Kisuke did not look up at her as he spoke. "I am sure you noticed this fire is not normal. It's burning even when there is nothing to burn. It's hot, but in reality it is not." He looked to Sajin then back to Ryo. "As you said you're a fire wielder. Are you telling me you did not notice a difference in this fire compared to your own?"
He looked back to her leg and moved his hands down a little further. "And there are burns here it just seems they were starting to surface as the fire moved outward to the surface of the skin."

Ryo huffed, blowing a few strands of hair from her face. "Of course, I noticed. I noticed when the fire burned faster than I could absorb it. And, no fire can out run Sekijouten." She sighed and looked down at Urahara. "So...How do we put out a fire that burns on nothing? It has to be feeding on something. So the traditional method of using water or soil could work. But, that's no guarantee."

The door opened. “If we could somehow surround it,” Juushiro murmured from the doorway as he leaned against the wall, “or trap it in vacuum…” He paused, gathering his thoughts and his strength. Pale, face drawn from the war with his weakened body and shouldering too much worry, his eyes shone brightly as he considered their problem. “If it feeds on reiishi, if we overwhelm it, either with force, kido, or the elements, the fire should weaken, shouldn’t it?”

Kisuke looked over at the makeshift cot where Juushiro was laying just moments before. He shook his head and smiled. "You must of had to take a major bathroom break. Because I don't remembering seeing you get up and leave." Kisuke laughed and looked back to Ryo leg.
"We have to try something and maybe a sample of the fire so myself of Mayuri can do some testing on it. We need to find out what this thing is feeding on so we know how to kill it."

Walking in past Juushiro, Vacanze smiled as he walked in with Toshiro over his shoulder and Kita and Yumiko following in closely behind them. "I think we can handle that." He set the little Captain to the chair closest to them and looked back to Kisuke.
"What do you need. Cinders or the actual flame from the fire?"
