"New Path; Treasured Memories":
Tsukiro opened his eyes to see a bright blue sky. He blinked, pretty sure that he had been staring at the ceiling of his new room in the Eighth Division barracks just a minute ago. He was still wearing his uniform and his captain's haori. He turned his head to the side, seeing a large meadow stretch out before him. And the meadow was covered in a multitude of brightly colored flowers, making the ground seem very much like a rainbow.
For a long moment, he could only lay there in confused silence, blinking. Not really caring, he closed his eyes again, enjoying what little peace he had been granted.
It wasn't until a few minutes later that his memory was jogged. He snapped his eyes open and jolted upright, eyes wide.
"Kita..." Her name left his lips in a whispered breath.
He stood up and walked around frantically, looking for some sign that she was there. His heart and chest ached for her. The fact that he was in this dream state only meant one thing.
She remembered. She must have remembered.

Feeling a light soft breeze across her face, a few loose hairs tickling her cheek, Kita lifted her hand and brushed them aside. Her eyes opening slowly. When she noticed it was morning she opened her eyes more. Oddly though she was outside. She swore she fell asleep inside the shop in her own bed, but here, now, she was outside. In a large meadow stretch out before her. The meadow covered in a assortment of flowers. The scent that surrounded her was amazing.
It must be a dream. Finally a relaxing, peaceful one. She fell back into the tall grass and smiled as she looked up into the bright blue sky, the clouds slowly drifted past. She closing her eyes her hands rested across her abdomen, a peaceful and bright smile across her lips.
"One day..." slipped from between her lips. "One day Sojiro we will live in a place this beautiful. You, me and your father."
She then giggled softly remembering how much Gin hated the Godly realm and the beauty there. "He will just have to live with it."

Suddenly Tsukiro heard rustling in the grass a little way's off. When he looked in that direction, he saw a figure laying in the grass. He turned and rushed over towards the figure. When he was close enough, he found that it was indeed Kita. She looked peaceful. More peaceful than he had seen her in a long time. He slowly walked up to her.
"Kita?"

Hearing a voice Kita sat up quickly, she turned slowly to the familiar voice her heart sinking into her stomach and she started to feel sick.
"Tsukiro?" She spoke before she even let her eyes see him and when they did she only saw the white captain's haori flowing in the gentle breeze. She was too afraid to look him in the eyes.
Why here? Here of all places. Why was he here? She thought to herself. I am not ready for this. Not now. Not yet.
She let her eyes slowly wander up his form until they met his smiling face. The second her eyes met his bright blue eyes she looked quickly away. "Tsukiro." Her head hung in fear, shame and remorse.

When Kita suddenly looked away, his heart sank. But he remained firm and composed. He knelt down in the grass next to her.
"Kita... Tell me the truth. You remember, don't you? If we're here, then that must mean that you feel a connection with me. This wouldn't have happened if you didn't remember us... our feelings for each other. So... let me hear you say it... Please?"

Kita only nodded remaining in silence for a long moment. She drew her knees to her chest wrapping her arms around her legs. "I remember everything." She looked out across the meadow a tear slowly trickling down her cheek.
"I heard you. I heard you... calling out to me... at the Captain's Hall..." she paused lowering her head to her bended knees, her forehead resting there. "I am sorry. I hope no one was hurt badly." She grew silent again. "I... I tried. I tried to make sure they were safe from any attacks Vale might use on them, but... but I failed."

His heart swelled at her nod, but when she spoke, that seemed like the very last thought on his mind. She was hurting. She had been hurting for a while, and he was here. This time he was here. Now was the time to start showing her that he was here for her all the way.
He gently and cautiously pulled her into his lap, placing his arms around her lovingly and soothingly rubbing her back. He kissed her temple.
"You didn't fail, Kita. If you hadn't been there, there would be nothing stopping us from attacking back, and then we'd all be dead. If you hadn't kept us in our spots, none of us would be here right now. Vale would have killed all of us and more." He brushed her hair back. "You saved us, Kita. All of us. And there's nothing to be sorry for. You couldn't help what you did. They would have killed you otherwise. Don't blame yourself for something you couldn't change or fight against. It may have damaged our egos, but all that was lost was a book. A book could never amount to the lives you saved that day."

Kita only shook her head. "I should not have been there. WE. Should not have been there." Kita scooted out of his lap and sat to bended knee in front of him. Her hands folded in her lap. Her head hung. "It's far from over. Sumi told me of the next move Azien is planning and when it happens all hell will break loose on both sides." Kita shook her head. "I don't think Gin will be of any help in this. He is slipping back into the darkness with us being apart."
She sighed slowly shaking her head as her eyes closed. She then looked up at Tsukiro a soft smile across her lips. She needed a subject change.
"By the way. Congratulations. I knew you could do it." She reached out and touched the edge if his captain's haori. "So what division did they give you?"

Tsukiro sighed when she dropped the subject, but he didn't press it. He smiled and took her hand in his, holding it gently. He smoothed his thumb over the back of her hand. "Eighth. Kyoraku's old division." He pulled on the side of his coat, revealing the pitch black lining. "I'm glad he changed it to black. Pink was definitely not my color."
He smiled back at her. "So... where does this leave us? To start over from the very beginning? I think..." He continued to smile, hope in his eyes. "I would like very much for us to start over... to fall for each other all over again. The right way. Not rushed and feverish like last time. It would make me happy just to be able to spend time with you whether as friends or something else. I just want to be at your side. Nothing more. I've come to see that..." He sighed, shaking his head at himself. "Even though the relationship is the best part, that's not what is most important to me. YOU are what's most important to me. The relationship is just the bonus. The big, pretty bow on the present. So, with that... if I can't have the bow on top of everything, then I'm just fine being able to hold you and listen to your feelings and show you my love as a friend. If you don't think we can get back what was stolen from us, then I want to be friends. I know it will take time for you, so just know that I'm always here for you, from now on. And when you decide," he leaned over and kissed her forehead, smiling again. "Let me know."

Again Kita shook her head. "You know I am with child, and still you ask me that question?" She looked away from him wringing her hands. She knew he was going to be enraged when she told him. Aizen would be forgivable in his eyes because he knew she could not control that, but Gin. Gin knew about her and Tsukiro. Could Tsukiro forgive that? Could he see past the circumstances? Could he see it was not something that was planned or done out of malice? Could he truly see that Gin did not do this to hurt him? It was something that just happened. Something neither of them even knew was happening until it was too late of either of them.
Tsukiro rested his hand of hers to calm her. "I know and we can work through this. I know you could not stop Aiz--"
"It's Gin's child." Kita said stopping him from even uttering the the mans name.
Tsukiro's hand slid from hers as he looked on at her. She turned and made eye contact with him. Now was the time to reveal all. It was now or never. "I have fallen in love with Gin and Gin with me. And now with Sojiro on the way it has made that bond even stronger."

Tsukiro sighed and shook his head. "I... won't say anything about that. My feelings about him don't matter." He looked over at the flowers in the ground and picked three, braiding them together. He put them in her hair, giving her a sad smile. "Sojiro is also your child. He will be amazing no matter who his father is. As for Ichimaru... I will keep my opinions to myself." A frown pulled down at his lips. "So you love him... And me...? How do you feel about me right now?"

Kita sighed and looked down at her hands. "I do love you, Tsukiro." She looked up at him. "You have a very special place in my heart and always will, but..."
She swallowed hard. "My heart belongs to Gin." Her head then started to shake and lowered again. "We still have a long road ahead of us. All of us. Not just myself and Gin. We don't know what it going to happen. I...I may not make it out alive. Gin may realize he don't want to be with me when this is all over. I don't know, but right now." She sighed. "All I know is even if Gin don't want a life with me only Sojiro. I am staying single."

Tsukiro nodded slowly. "So then... that's it...?" He sighed and shook his head. "I may seem like one, but I'm not a monster. I won't break up a family. I can't fight against that. I know what it's like to grow up without a family. I'd be worse than Aizen if I tore you two apart."
He reached down and took a fist full of the ground and pulled, uprooting grass and flowers, crushing them in his had, then letting the broken stems fall back down to the earth. "He so easily earned from you what I was too stupid and foolish to keep. He was granted everything I ever wanted. He killed and murdered and followed the worst man in the history of existence, and yet somehow he still was gifted with your love, your heart and your child. I tried so hard and got nowhere. Maybe I'm fated to lose in the end. Maybe it just wasn't in the cards for me to possibly be that happy."

Kita heart wrenched at his words as she bit at her bottom lip. She fought hard to hold back the tears as she shook her head slowly. "No. That's not true." She looked to him with pools of tears in her eyes. "You deserve better than me." She reached out and took his hand as a tear slowly trickled down her cheek.
"Please believe me when I say it has nothing to do with you. I am choosing to be single because that is how I feel, will be best for me." She shook her head. "Maybe it was not meant for us to be together as lovers. But that does not mean that the time we were together was not wonderful. They are memories and moments I will always cherish. Ones that I will always hold close to heart." She let her fingertip slide under his chin and lift his head so to look at him. "You were the one that said we could still be friends. That you would be there to support me. Has that changed now? Has your feelings changed that much with what I told you, that you are now backing away from me completely?"
She let her hand drop when he cast his eyes from her, her head slowly lowering again. "I am sorry I hurt you, Tsukiro. I truly am, but I have made up my mind." She pushed up off the ground, turned and stepped away from him as she dried her tears.
"Blame me all you want, but please do not blame Gin or yourself for any of this. Both of you are good men. Something you may never see, but that don't make it any less the truth. If anything this is my loss." She started to walk away from Tsukiro, her hands folded in front of her. "If you want to talk to me I am staying at the shop again, but I can't promise for how long. If I never see you again... I understand, but please promise me you will not give up. Ever. There is another that loves you more than I. Seek her out."
She stopped, turned and looked back at him as he now stood watching her walk away. She smiled brightly. "I will never forget you, Tsukiro. Never." Tears now flowed freely down her cheeks as she blew him a kiss. "Good bye."

Tsukiro ran up and grabbed her hand, pulling her into a tight hug. "I wasn't lying. What I said hasn't changed. I still want to be in your life, even if it's just as a friend." He pulled back, tears in his eyes, a sad smile painting his face. "I don't blame you. I let Ichimaru be the better man for you. But I'll get over it. I didn't let what happened to my family kill me, this won't either. But none of this is your fault. I know it's probably better this way. I meant what I said. So when you get back, when I see you next, I'll keep standing next to you as the best friend you ever had."
He took her hands and kissed her cheek. "It's not goodbye. It's just see you later. And when we do, we'll rebuild our bond into something that works for BOTH of us. So go do what you have to do, and when you come back," he winked at her, "you owe me a hug. Alright?"
