Miyuki sighed and nodded. "That sounds like a good plan. Riku will be so distracted by everything that he won't be able to focus on everything." She shook her head then. "Still. It's a shame that it had to come to this.

Naoru chuckled shaking his head as he leaned against a nearby post. "Only one issue with this plan of yours, dearest sister of mine." He looked at his siblings as they looked to him. "You're talking as if you know how this auction will be set up. What do you think you're walking into? A museum?"
He looked up into the afternoon sky. "This is an auction. An auction items are kept locked safely away until they are presented to the buyers." His head turned looking back at his siblings. "And I am sure there are only two people with keys to this room." He looked back to the sky.
"Our dear little brother Riku and the head coordinator of the festival." One of his arms lifted as he reached for the clouds above him. "Riku is not going to let that key leave his sight. So that leaves getting the key from the coordinator." His hand reaching upward tightened into a fist like he was grabbing at something and taking hold of it.

"You've obviously been away from our brother for too long. You've forgotten what he's like," Satoshi shook his head gravely. "Riku set up this auction. Do you really think that he'll stick to the book on how to plan an auction? Riku hardly ever does anything by the book. He'll make this a show, not just an auction. I think we'd better get more information on this spectacle before any of us go making any major plans on how to carry this out." Satoshi looked at the flyer in his hand, looking at the print where it advertised the collection for sale. "Riku is flashy when he wants to be, and meticulously careful when he needs to be. And he's gotten good at doing both over the years. We all may be older than him, but he's no third rate thief. We need to go into this with our heads on straight and our intelligence accurate to the dots above the 'I's." The four of them were silent for a long moment before the look in everyone's eyes shifted from apprehensive to accepting. They were really doing this. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but Riku was family, and they wanted--needed--their family back. It had to be done. Silently, the four Asuharas made their way out of the commerce district, heading back home to start planning their next move. This heist needed to be perfect if they had any chance of it working. ~ END RP ~ "Ploy for the Festival":

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 418 "Icebreaker": Toshiro Hitsugaya was enjoying his lunch for once in his career. A rare sight to say the least. Usually he took his lunch in the privacy of his office in the Tenth Division headquarters, slaving over paperwork. But not today. His new lieutenant was a hard worker. Even with his Third Seat missing--something he planned on rectifying--the paperwork had been kept up with, so he took the luxury of going out to one of his favorite spots for lunch. It was a hidden gem of izakayas off in an alley of one of the marketplaces in the commerce district. He knew of quite a few officers who came here after work to drink and eat and make merry, making the place a loud and rambunctious place to hang out, but throughout the weekday afternoons it was calm enough to sit and enjoy a meal and maybe a book. Even if some of the bartenders raised an eyebrow at him for only ordering tea as his drink instead of beer or sake. He wasn't here to get drunk. He was here to relax."Here ya go Captain," the middle aged man of the izakaya he was sitting at announced to him as he set a bowl of tonkotsu ramen with miso, a line of pork gyoza, and a saucer of amanatto in front of him. The man grinned at him, his signature toothpick hanging from his teeth. "Enjoy yer meal." Toshiro inhaled the warm, hearty scent of the ramen and closed his eyes, stress melting away from his shoulders. He put his hands together in thanks. "Itadakimasu." The owner nodded and turned to wipe down the prep counter.
As Toshiro picked up his chopsticks and spoon, he heard the gentle rustle of the izakaya curtains behind him, but paid it no mind. He usually wasn't bothered at izakayas this hour, and even those who struck up a conversation with him usually knew the difference between friendly chat and irritating gab. He took his first sip of the broth and hummed in delight.

Kugo placed a hand to his chest and bowed his head. "Hello, Captain? Enjoying your meal?" Kugo looked at the barely touched bowl. "Or, are you just beginning?" Sitting down beside his Captain, Kugo folded his hands together in front of him on the counter.
"Rarely have I seen my Captain eat outside of his office. Is there something about today?"

Toshiro looked up to see his lieutenant sitting down next to him. "Oh, I didn't think I'd run into anyone else from the Gotei here at this hour. Especially not someone from my own Division." He shook his head. "I come here whenever I don't have to lock myself in my office to get things done. It's peaceful here when the place isn't overrun by drunkards."
He waved over the owner of the izakaya. "I'll pay for both of us today. It's on me," he said to Kugo. "What about you? What brings you here?"

"I like to venture out and find new places to eat." Kugo smiled. "I am currently on the hunt for the best ramen shop." Kugo laughed with a smile. He looked to the owner and requested the same meal as his Captain.
"I've found plenty that I can say are delicious. Currently Yokkako's and Ruma Ramen are my favorites. I'm pretty sure Ruma's all you can eat policy no longer stands after a visit from the Ninth. Well," Kugo placed a chin to his palm. "Actually I think Lieutenant Hisagi may have eaten more than I did..."

"Trying to eat them out of house and home, huh?" Toshiro commented with a shake of his head as he slurped up some of the noodles and broth from his ramen. He pulled apart a slice of chashu and took a bite. He nodded with a hum. "This place is my favorite so far, though Yokkako and Ruma are also great. Being from Rukongai, I find that price does not always equate to quality."
He sat up and looked towards Kugo. "Do you miss your old division? I'm sure it wasn't easy making that change, though I can't say I know what that's like." Toshiro gave a half smile and a soft chuckle. "I've been in Tenth Division my entire career. Thanks and no thanks to Rangiku Matsumoto..." His grin fell as he looked into his bowl. "She was the reason I joined in the first place. No way in hell she would ever let me choose a different Division. She practically dragged me into the barracks kicking and screaming after I graduated."

Kugo laughed. He tapped the tips of his fingers to the wooden counter top. "Now, that is something I would have loved to see. And, to answer you question, yes. I miss the Ninth. Captain Hirabyashi...Komamura...She is interesting. And, it is such a pleasure to watch her fight." Kugo blushed before clearing his throat. "Not...Not that..." he stuttered through his sentence. "Not that it's appropriate to watch someone fight naked. But...I...I...think she's strong." He gave a nervous laugh as the owner set his bowl of ramen in front of him.
"She's, by my research, the strongest fire type zanpakuto...Now that Commander Yamamoto has passed. Quite a feat considering the strength of Ryujin Jakka..."

Toshiro nodded firmly as he picked up one of his gyoza with his chopsticks. "Agreed, she is an admirable captain and an exceptional warrior. If her zanpakuto is even half as strong as Ryujin Jakka, then I hope I never have to fight in her vicinity, otherwise Hyorinmaru might just end up useless..." When I can return him to my side that is.
He thought back to the times he had to fight next to the late commander. It was a rare occurrence, but memorable ones. "Once he released even his shikai, that was it for me. I couldn't conjure so much as a raindrop." He paused for a moment, placing his elbows on the counter and placing his chin on his folded up hands. He gave Kugo a mischievous side eye. "Sorry, by the way. I doubt I'll be as exciting to train with as Captain Stripper. But at least you get a life time supply of snow cones and free air conditioning." His tone was sarcastic but without malice.

Kugo choked on a sip of broth. "Cap...Captain Stripper?!" He looked around, bowing his head in apology in case someone had heard him. "Captain Stripper? Despite being well aware of her unfortunate wardrobe situation during a fight, I have never heard anyone call her that. Has she?!" Kugo laughed as his imagination began to run.
"I take it no one has ever said this to her face." Kugo tapped his bowl with his chopsticks. "No. I know no one has ever said that to her face. To mu knowledge, the Captain has never committed a murder."

"And if you tell her I said that, I'm taking you to my grave with me," Toshiro pointed his chopsticks at Kugo. "You're my lieutenant now, so if one of us goes down, we both go down together."
He bit into another dumpling, dunking it into the ramen broth then finishing it off. "Speaking of which, as my lieutenant I value your input, so is there anything about the division that you think could be improved or addressed? If anything has been on your mind, I encourage you to say your piece."

Kugo sighed. "If I may be honest, Captain. Our division is at a bit of a standstill. They are unsure of what to do. They follow a Captain who can not effectively lead, right now." he raised a hand. "Your leadership is in question simply because you have no power. But also because you've hidden in your office since your return. Not to mention the rumors that you made the son of Kisuke Urahara captain in your stead."

Toshiro finished off his dumplings and the rest of his noodles, taking the spoon and dipping it in the broth. "They have every right to question me. I didn't expect to make it out of that fight and I made hasty decisions. Now I am faced with the consequences of those hasty decisions. I welcome the criticism."
He sat up straight after taking a drink of the broth. Toshiro looked over to Kugo. "I no longer believe making Kenji Urahara the captain in my stead is the right thing to do. I believe you're more than capable of handling the division once you've gotten a feel for things. And then there's the task of locating my Third Seat. Tenth Division is very much in need of order and stability. When Captain Shiba was removed from duty, my bankai was nearing completion. Once I had achieved it, I was given the chance to prove myself as a captain despite my age. I don't plan on throwing away that chance now after all these decades."

Kugo nodded as he looked in his bowl. "If I may make a suggestion, Captain." He waited until his Captain nodded. "Something that may help both you and Urahara's boy, who I hear is struggling himself. Bring Kenji Urahara into the Tenth. Maybe not as a member. But, perhaps as someone to train with. He could learn the ways of the Gotei, discipline and strength. You would have someone to mentor and to train with."
"Hmm, that's not a bad idea," Toshiro placed a hand on his chin, nodding. "It might do him some good to step away from his family, even if for a few hours a day or for a week or two. Despite his parents being to exceptionally strong former captains, he doesn't always get the one on one guidance he needs."
Kugo looked at his Captain in confusion. "It's said that the boy has a bankai. I'm not sure how one can achieve that without some sort of guidance."
"I don't necessarily mean guidance in terms of his powers as a Soul Reaper. He is very strong, without question," Toshiro shook his head. "I mean emotionally. He doubts himself and as a result, that doubt is reflected in his abilities."
Kugo nodded. "I understand. May I also suggest that you take some time off. Your weariness is obvious. It is my job to stand in your stead, sir."
