"Masanobu Males": Kin stepped around the desk, a book in hand; he only paused for a second looking toward the door when he heard a knock. “Come in.” he informed the one knocking. As the door slid open he saw it was his younger brother and second in command, Hakuryuu Masanobu, continuing his path he sat down behind the desk resting the book in front of him. He then looked up again at his brother as he sat down in the seat in front of the desk with a heavy sigh.
“Is there an issue, Hakuryuu?”

"Nothing." answered Hakuryuu as he entered the room. His hands were folded behind him as he walked toward the desk. "I simply wish to speak with you on recent events. I heard that Captain Kuchiki came, inquiring about our mother." Taking a seat in front of the desk, Hakuryuu placed his hands in his lap. "His infatuation with mother peeks my curiosity. What business does he have with her?"

Kin chuckled and looked down at the book, cracking the spine he flipped a few pages getting to the back of the book where the marker rest. "Strictly romantic if you ask me. I ask the man to let her down easily. I did not want to see her hurt over a man, any more than she already been.”
He looked up from the book to his brother. "He replied by telling me he did not wish to hurt mother, and that would extend to any affection he may or may not feel for her."
Hakuryu raised a brow as his brother spoke of his conversation with the head of the Kuchiki clan.
Kin continued as his smile spread across his lips. "He continued to tell me that he understood my sentiments, and would keep them in mind.” He hesitated and then continued his thought. “He went on to say that it was he who told me to treasure my family and if it is as I." Kin gestured to himself, "believe, it would be dishonorable for him to do anything less after saying those words."

"I understand your stance, brother." Hakuryuu shook his head. "I understand the Captain, as well. I, too, have faced a similar situation. You know that. We can only wait to see. She is our mother. Not a child."
Hakuryuu watched as his brother licked the tip of his finger and turned another page in his book.
"Did he make any mention as to what the Gotei will do in the absence of the Captain Commander and Captain Ukitake?"

Kin shook his head as he looked at the page he turned to. "No." He looked up at his brother once more. "However, Masahiro-sama informed me that the former Captain of Division Twelve, Urahara Kisuke was called upon to fill the position until the Soul King had appointed another."
He closed the book with a grunt. "And in all the law books father has there is nothing for the time frame in which this could take."

Hakuryuu chuckled as he looked to his brother. "If my memory serves me correctly, during the days without our zanpakuto-"
"The Silent Years..."
Hakuryuu nodded. "The written event says the god of fire claimed that the former Captain would take his place at the head of the Gotei. Do we know what the Acting Commander has in store? There is little he can do, considering his position is temporary."
"There is plenty he can do. His position his temporary, yes. But, he is not limited in his role."
"I do not imagine much will change, if anything."

Kin laughed softly as he stood from the desk and crossed back over the floor to the book shelf once more grabbing yet another book. "You seem to forget this man was exiled from the Gotei 13 because he was framed by Aizen Sousuke." As he turned a knock echoed though the room again.
"Come in," he called out as the door slid open, the third hire to the Masanobu clan walked in. "Kouen, is it that time already?" He looked toward the window seeing the sun was slowly starting to set in the horizon.

"I am sure if he makes changes they will be so something like that will never happen again." Kouen said adding his thoughts to their conversation as he stepped into the room, closing the door and taking a seat.
"And how do you even know what we were talking about?" Hakuryuu asked turning to face their younger brother.
Kouen smirked. "Lets just say you two have big mouths." He heard Kin chuckle as he turned to look at his eldest brother standing behind them at the book shelf. "You disagree?"

Kin chuckled again at his question as he answered Kouen. "About what? Us having big mouths or Urahara making a change of such?"
"Both," Kouen replied as he turned back in his seat as Kin walked around them back to the desk in front of them. "And to your first question. Yes, it is that time. Thank the Gods! Shirou was about to drive me crazy with his ramblings about the Kuchiki head and mother."
Kin raised a brow as he looked over at Kouen. "What about them?"
Kouen shook his head combing his fingers through his long dark hair. "It would seem he walked in on them as they were about to kiss. I--"
"They what?!" Kin's voice gruff and holding a touch of annoyance.

Hakuryuu raised a hand to his older brother, as he looked pointedly to the youngest of the three. "Please, brothers. I could understand this level of defensiveness if she were our sister. But, Saya Masanobu is our mother. She has lived long enough to deserve a kind of peace that only romance can give. Leave affairs of the heart to the hands that hold them."
"But..."
"Our mother's heart is hers to give. And, not ours to shield." Hakuryuu lowered his hand. "Now, Kisuke Urahara is oddity among the crooked in the Gotei 13. If he is to make changes, perhaps it would be for the best. Almost refreshing."
"Even if he seeks to drive away the Noble clans?"
Hakuryuu turn toward Kin, his eyes narrowing. "Mind your tongue, brother. The nobles have had a hand in ruling the Gotei 13 since it's existence. Our involvement resulted in a corruption that only aided in the first fall of the Soul Society. The late Captain Commander Kyoraku saw to end such a relationship. Kisuke Urahara would not dare go back to it. But, he would not drive us away."

Kouen made himself more comfortable in the chair as he looked at Hakuryuu. "Kicked out by Urahara and soon to be kicked out by the Kuchiki head. Damn! Maybe I shouldn't have unpacked."
"I would think that you would welcome change, Kouen." said Hakuryuu. "It's a sure sign of progress."
"Be it good or bad."
"Yes. As for Kuchiki, if you went off and found a wife of your own, you wouldn't face this problem."
Kouen sat up again and looked to Hakuryuu with a smirk. "Now why would I want to tie myself down to one lovely, when I can have all the lovelies at my beck and call." He reached over and patted his brothers arm with a slight chuckle.
"Maybe if mother marries Kuchiki-sama you can marry his sister so to stay as an heir of the soon to be forgotten Masanobu Clan of Assassin's. Because you know how the Kuchiki's run their clan." He lifted a hand with one finger up, "Marriage," a second finger popped up, "a Kuchiki heir," a third finger popped up. "The Masanobu Clan of Assassin's becomes the Kuchiki Clan of Assassin's." His brows raised. "Hm? What do you think, Haku? Marry the Kuchiki Ice Queen."

Hakuryuu scoffed as he turned away from Kouen. "Your simple quips are childish. Besides, I hold no interest in Rukia Kuchiki. I find her no more interesting than a stray thread on the tattered end of a kimono." Hakuryuu shook his head, looking to his hands in his lap. "And, you couldn't convince a woman to marry you even if you had asked the gods for help."
Kin chuckled as he shook his head. "Enough. I highly doubt a marriage between the two will happen."
"Or, is it that you wouldn't allow it?" Hakuryuu shook his head again. "This conversation is tiring. Speak of something else, brother."

Kin chuckled at the two shaking his head. "I won't allow Kuchiki-sama to take over and destroy what this family as fought so hard to keep alive. Marriage or not." He looked to Hakuryuu with a cunning grin. "Though as the head of the Clan now. I might speak with Kuchiki-sama in arranging a marriage between you and his sister."
Kouen burst out in laughter as Hakuryuu sprang from his seat. "LIKE HELL YOU WILL!!"
"I wonder who would kill who first?!"
Kin chuckled lightly, shaking his head again. "Sit down. I would never do that to one of you." He watched as Hakuryuu sat down in a huff, cuffing Kouen in the back of the head for still laughing. As the two passed dirty glares at one another, Kin knocked on the desk top getting their attention.
"I do want to say this to both of you. If rumor is true about Urahara making these changes. I want both of you available when this meeting is called. All noble voices should be heard in this choice."

Hakuryuu crossed his arms over his chest. "If he allows us to attend. If he is seeking to completely separate the noble clans from the governing party, than this may be the beginning of that separation. No noble clan would be invited." Hakuryuu rose from his seat again, looking out a nearby window as the sun set.
"I am not against these changes, brothers. Neither should you."

Kin sat back in his chair. "If it is done properly I see no issue with this. Half of the noble clans are crooked as Aizen Sousuke."
Kouen chuckled as he softly spoke. "Thank the Gods they don't have his power."
Kin nodded and continued. "If he does this without calling all sources together there will be an uprising within the Noble Clan's. He will not get away with not letting them know his course of action. Be it for the Gotei or Soul Society."
