Saya could not help herself as a tear slipped down her cheek as a terrible thought entered her mind and she looked away from Byakuya. Her hand lifted, wiping it away before she looked back to the man she loved.
"What happens if they never find these girls or worse... They do get a hold of Makino? Do you have any idea what they are doing with them or is it all educated guesses?"
Before he could answer she added. "You do know if Makino is taken you will not be able to keep the Masanobu clan out of this. Even if threatened with death."

"Saya..." Byakuya whispered. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. He rested his forehead against her own. "I know that. And I wouldn't keep her brothers or you from doing everything to find her if they get pass our precautions."
He stayed like that for another moment and then pulled back, eyes hardening.
"We believe they are connected with trafficking of human lives. It is not only women who have gone missing. Children - in the Rukongai - have also been disappearing more often than usual. And it is not due to gambling dens or loss of bodies in other groups in the rougher areas." Saya raised a hand to her mouth in horror and Byakuya closed his eyes. "The last trafficking ring of this nature happened in my grandfather's time. And he received permission from Yamamoto to be quite public in their punishment. It... discouraged these acts from happening this close to our headquarters."
Saya swallowed and took his hand again. "Dear... you have to stop them."
Byakuya covered her hand with both of his. "We will, my heart. We will. Now that the threat of Aizen is gone, their time is numbered."

Saya nodded believing in him and the divisions of the Gotei and knowing they would not rest until they had these men caught and punished once an for all. She was about to say something when the door opened and Kin, Suigetsu and Makino walked in the room. She smiled at the three of them extending her hand to her youngest.
"Going home finally, I see."
Makino nodded as she hobbled toward her mother and Byakuya. Byakuya going to rise as Makino sat a hand to his shoulder and shook her head. "No need to get up. You need to stay off your feet and I need to be up to strengthen my leg. Plus, I have been up walking all morning. I feels good be be up moving and not on my backside."
Saya looked from her love as he sat back down, over to her daughter. "Are you sure Captain Kotetsu is alright with that much movement from you? You are still healing after all."

Kin narrowed his eyes as he stepped toward them. "Now tell them where you went on your so called walk this morning." He looked to his baby sister as her head turned quickly to him with narrowed eyes.
"I told you I was fine. Anyone that would walk straight into the Gotei and try something is a fool." Makino growled.
"Its not the Gotei that I was worried about. It was the other place you visited." He growled back. "Go on, tell them. You know in time it will come out anyway. You're being watched by more than just the group of thugs that want your hide to line their pockets with yin."

Byakuya's eyes turned flinty at the restrained anger Kin was displaying at this action. "Makino, what did you do?" he pressed.
Makino looked toward her future father, "I did not do anything but go for a walk around the Gotei." She looked back at Kin. "And where I went was still in the Gotei. So there is nothing to worry about. I was safe." She looked back to Byakuya.
Kin sighed and rubbed his temple. "They are moving inside the walls of the Gotei as well. You know that from what your friend told you. You are not safe without an escort at your side. The ones following you can't get to you fast enough if someone grabs you. So that means your little adventure to the Academy was not a wise one."
"I did not go to the Academy I went to the Zanjutsu Training grounds." She looked back at Byakuya once more. "I heard Captain Hirabayashi had taken on the job of instructor there. I wanted to see if it was true. She is someone that I could learn a lot from she is wise and very strong." She sighed lowering her head. "If I ever get to return that is."
"Keep this up and you won't," the captain of sixth division replied in a deliberately calm, smooth voice. One which he had used many times to admonish members of his division. And rarely used more than once for the same behavior. "The Zanjutsu Training grounds is a part of the Academy, Makino Masanobu. I had hoped your observation and hearing skills were better than this. You know what you were told."

Makino knew that tone, her biological father used it on her many times when she acted out. Stepping back slightly she growled. "I can't do anything. Nothing at all. You might as well lock me behind bars at this rate. You dang near are with making me return home and not allowing me to leave the grounds. The only thing missing are the bars." Her tone was annoyed and irritated and raised a few octaves.
"Makino Masanobu," Saya scolded, "you will not speak to Byakuya that way. Apologize this instant."
Makino growled again and spun on her heels. "Just take me home so I can lock myself in my room and rot." She stepped quickly toward the door as it opened and Sojiro was standing in the doorway.
"Sojiro..."

"Maki..."
There was too much coiled tension in the room he had entered. His words failed him. Swallowing with a small smile, he walked further into the room, letting his brother peek in from behind him and giving his mother and aunt room if they wanted to come in. Makino continued to stare at him, and the others remained silent.
Sojiro squared his shoulders. "Makino, I want to speak to you. I'm sorry I haven't been around, and I want to explain why. And..." he paused, noticing the bag by her side on the bed. "Are you leaving Fourth Division today?"

Makino growled in her chest with a slight glance over her shoulder at her family. "They're making me return home until these thugs are caught. I won't be returning back to the Academy for some time."
She grumbled under her breath. "They might as well lock me up with the rules I am under."
"Thugs?" Makino looked Sojiro's mother's way as she spoke, and stepped up behind Sojiro, Yumiko and his little brother stayed back in the hall as his Aunts's hand rested to his little brother's shoulder to keep him from the room. She looked to the three newcomers as Kita bowed her head to her mother, Byakuya, her brother and Suigetsu."Forgive the intrusion.""Don't worry Goddess. I was leaving if you needed to speak to Captain Kuchiki." She moved closer to the door as she spoke. "And yes there seems to be a group of men abducting young girls, guys and children in the area. They have me targeted." She stepped past Sojiro. "We can talk out in the hall."Moved
