The noble nodded mildly impressed at his composure in spite of the weight he had given him. Perhaps he would survive. "Abarai will show you your new quarters then."
He turned to his lieutenant, conveying his approval with another look, then stated. "Return to me after you have Nagano situated. You have a mission."

Renji bowed to him. "Yes sir, right away." He looked to Yorusuke and motioned for him to exit as he followed him out. The two making their way to Yorusuke's new quarters. Once Renji had him settled in-- and down--from the excitement of being offered the Fifth seat position, Renji exited leaving him to his work and returned back to captain's office.
He knocked waiting for his captains reply to enter.

"Enter, Abarai," Byakuya murmured.
He was once more at his desk, the irritation erased from his expression as he filled out documents and set aside others to be sent out. He looked up after crafting his signature.
"I would like you to visit the human world and see what the shopkeeper and the cat are up. I highly doubt that they are waiting for a year to pass before moving, and I would rather be ready for their move than be surprised as they are usually liable for."

Renji scratched his head and looked at the captain. "I think I know what's up down there, but I will go double check to make sure I have the information correct before I report anything."
He bowed to Byakuya asking. "I will be back with this information as soon as Urahara decides to share it with me. Was there anything else, sir?"

Captain Kuchiki nodded and indicated two piles of documents respectively. "Deliver this pile to fourth seat to send out to the other divisions and deliver that pile to Captain Kurotsuchi of Division 12. Tell him that is only the beginning of the rules I can point out as to his current improvements to the towers. They are not his personal spy network."

Renji lifted the files from the desk and nodded. "Yes sir." He bowed again then turned on his heel stepping toward the door. "Have a good day Captain Kuchiki." Renji opened the door and exited the office.
Files in hand he headed off to deliver said files to side personal and divisions before he headed off for the human realm.

"Woven in Time": Koga stepped from a garganta appearing inside of the cell Vale was kept inside of the Sixth Division. "Enjoying your accommodations?" He asked stepping out with an unconscious Lieutenant Hinamori beneath his arm. Inoue followed behind him, scurrying over to Vale. Koga dropped the unconscious Lieutenant to the floor and placed his foot to her neck. He tilted his head as Vale remained quiet. "Yes. I know they have Ryouma." He grinned as Vale's eyes focused on him and not the woman working on healing his body. "Would you like me to retrieve her?" Vale's eyes narrowed forcing a laugh from Koga. "Emotions..."
Koga raised his hands to his chest and fired a cero at Vale, shattering the cuffs he wore. He watched as Vale rose and shunpo'd over to him, grabbing him by the throat. "Because, you'll be publicly executed if I do." he said, responding to a question that had gone unasked.
Inoue looked at the watch drawn on her wrist. "I think you're running out of time."
Vale dropped Koga as they both gave her an odd glance. "You think?" He turned back to Koga, who was holding out his zanpakuto.
"And, yes. It would be foolish of me to come retrieve you and not your zanpakuto. Shall we?" He waved his hand as he pivoted and stepped into the garganta. "You are indeed running out of time." Vale knelt down and picked up the unconscious Lieutenant then followed Koga into the garganta. Inoue pranced in behind him.
Vale looked down at the Espada. "We're going to have to talk about...this. You know that, right?" Koga looked up and said nothing, as the gargantua closed.

"The King Intervenes II":A flame sparked within the cell of the Sixth Division prison; a gate opening after the spark. The god stepped from the gate, crossing his arms and glancing at the prisoner. "Acknowledge a god when you are aware of their presence, Vale Tervaden." spoke the god.
"I am not very fond of your kind. So, forgive me if you see fit to." responded Vale. He raised his hands, bound with the reiatsu sealing cuffs. "To what do I owe this visit?"
"I am Alister, the god of fire. The Spirit King sent to me free you."
Vale looked to the god with narrowed eyes. "Haven't you people done enough?!" he shouted.
Alister dropped his hands to his side and clenched his fists. "Do not raise your voice at me, mortal. You had better know your place."
"And, you had better learn yours! You gods have done more harm than good. And, for what? For. What. You're no fucking better than the rest of us!"
In the blink of any eye, Vale found himself pinned against the wall beneath the weight of one hand of the god. "I was sent to free you, Tervaden. But, if this is how you show the Spirit King gratitude I would sooner leave you here to rot."
Vale ground his teeth and kicked at the god, who humored the angry mortal by stumbling backward. Vale's eyes narrowed as the god laughed and rubbed his chest. "I do not want your king to free me out of sympathy."
"He isn't. Something has happened that time and fortune were not prepared for."
"Oh. Something has caught the gods off guard?"
"Yes. Sousuke Aizen is dead."
Vale looked to the god with and overwhelming sense of shock and disbelief. "Bullshit!"
The god nodded. "He is dead. I was sent to free you to restore what balance remains and can be salvaged. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Vale looked down at his wrists now free of the cuffs.
"Why me? Why not his daughter or one of the fucking Espada?"
"Because he chose you. Now, go!" the gods voice shook the cell. The god turned towards his still opened gate. He reached behind him and pointed. "Your weapon." He proceeded into the gate.
"Wait!" shouted Vale. "You need me to restore balance." The god nodded. "So, I need something from you." The god tilted his head with a smile, as if curious as to the demand of the mortal. "Yumiko Ryouma. Undo the damage she's suffered. All of it. Let her be herself with no influence of Las Noches. Her memories intact. But, none of the pain."
"Her view of you will change."
Vale nodded, walking over and picking up his zanpakuto. "Do it." The god turned and walked into the gate. Vale followed behind him, a free man. A king.

"Resignation": It was evening time just before his Captain was leaving for the day as Yorusuke strode up to his office door and knocked soundly but firmly on his soon to be former Captain’s door. When he was informed to enter, he slid the door back, stooped down picking up his bag and entered the room. Byakuya looked at him with concern in his eyes. Yorusuke stepped up to his desk with a slight bow extending his hand with folded piece of parchment. His Captain reached out removing it from his hand. “I apologize Captain Kuchiki,” was all Yorusuke offered at the moment.

The noble captain didn’t reply. He opened the letter, reading a few passages and set it aside. “As this is your final decision, you no longer have any right to be in Seireitei or the Gotei 13. And if Urahara has no use for you, you will find a place for yourself in Rukongai. See how far your decision-making gets you there.” He turned around, looking out over the courtyard. “You are dismissed, former Fourth Seat. Do not regret your decision.”

Yoruskue nodded to the Noble. “That is one thing I will not have to worry about Captain. I stand firm with my decision and I know what is right. And this is right.” A slight pause came for Yorusuke.
“I have no issues with the way you have led this division. I will miss being under your commanded, sir.” He bowed again out of respect for the Captain, he turned from the Captain’s desk and walked toward the door.
“I bid you farewell and a long prosperous life, Sir.” Yorusuke slid the door open once more and exited the room closing the door behind him.

After he had left, Byakuya turned around. "Such an arbitrary farewell," he noted to himself as he picked up the letter again. His eyes narrowed as he read every word. "What he lacks in is not something apparent in his letters." Taking a seat again, he slid Yorusuke Nagano's letter of resignation into a drawer and opened another for the paperwork necessary to release a member of his division from his command. Eyes like steel, he filled it out. The motion would be complete tonight.

"A Test Run":Captain Kuchiki sat in the middle of his courtyard, hands on his knees and Senbonzakura in front of him. The chaos besetting the realms didn’t matter. Not now. The sakura petals swayed in the wind around him as his reiatsu drifted around the courtyard. The noble didn’t move. Ripples spread from the center of his tea cup. The dark eyes opened. “Captain, sir, I’m finished with my… Oh,” Abarai said, seeing where his captain was. “I apologize, sir, I didn’t think you were-” “You disturbed nothing,” Byakuya murmured, sipping from the tea before him. He rose. “I will be going out. You are in charge of the division until I return.” “Yes, sir!” Abarai replied, standing straighter. “And escort Rukia home.” Abarai tried his best not to grin as he nodded. “I will.” The noble looked at him for a moment longer and then turned. “I will be at the first division if I am needed.” “Trouble?” Abarai asked. The noble shook his head. “It is not a meeting.” He left the room. Moved

"Funds Report" (continued):
Once the door was closed she turned back looking to Byakuya her report still in her arms. She bowed again. "I am sorry to bug you here, but I did not know where else to turn for the advice I needed on what I found." She stood and looked to him."Did you leave your escort behind again, Makino?" Byakuya asked her standing as he placed his brush back in the well. Makino growled. "I am fine. I don't need an escort anymore you're only wasting man power by sticking them with me. You want to do something with them send them out to find these guys." She quickly froze in place when the expression on his face changed, she then realized she was telling him how to do his job. She bowed quickly and low. "Forgive me. I did not mean it in a way of telling you how to do your job, Captain."

The captain’s gaze didn’t waver. “Your mother, brothers, and the Koriyama heads are all in agreement with me in this matter. Until these men are either captured or proven to be less than is feared, you will continue to have a guard on you.” He reached into his desk and pulled out a file, letting it drop onto the desk. “There are more cases of missing people showing up, too. You will listen to orders on this matter, as will your friend Nakane, or you will both confined to your homes until we reach the bottom of this. Is that understood?”
Makino lowered her head with a small nod.
Byakuya sighed. “I do not doubt your talents, Makino. I have not spent nearly a month personally training you further for nothing, but there are factors here, in addition to your skills, that I will not ignore.” When she looked up, he tapped the file. "There is no need for you to see this, but I will say that Gin Ichimaru finding you in the Rukongai was not an isolated incident." She tilted her head in confusion. He looked back to her. "I have him looking for any unlawful acts. The fact that these cases are still happening with him on the prowl could mean a few things: a) they are as familiar with the area as he is; b) they are swift in the act of capture, and c) there are more unknown factors about their methods." He returned the file to his drawer.
"How many have gone missing?" she asked.
"Less than a dozen that we know of," he stated, "but there is division within the Rukon. Some will not report it, and there could be more than one reason." He paused. "I did not tell you this to scare you but for you to acknowledge the danger and priority of your protection. There are enough men in this division to do this without affecting the investigation as well. Do you understand?"
