Suzume let a little smile form as she sat there on the corner of the desk. He was getting impatient. With her and the situation. She was sure of it.
Back in the day, bad days did happen, and it was Momo and she who usually dealt with them. When he started sprouting this many insults in one sitting, Momo would usually back out and return with some kind of treat. Meanwhile, it wouldn’t phase her and she would hold out the paperwork. By the time her best friend returned with the therapy food, he’d be sitting at his desk signing as fast as he could while tossing the finished reports all over the place.
It was kind of amusing when he’d start to notice her catching them and begin deliberately pushing them in harder angles, like under his desk or out the window.
But back then, it had been more of a pet peeve and a way to mess with people. Now, he was deliberately being a bully.
And that she didn't like and why she had decided to lash back after the second week.
“If the jackass will give me the paperwork I know he’s hiding somewhere, I will be glad to get out the pigsty he calls an office,” she returned in enunciated calmness.
His dogged determination to keep anyone like Momo away had to crack sometime, and she’d be there to see it.

Shinji’s eyes narrowed into slits of rage at the indignation in asking about those files again and at insulting his tidy office. He’d kept it much better since he’d returned to the job without a lieutenant to help him. Hell, he did it better than they could. Because it was all his system. But if she was going to stand there and berate him with that annoying chirp – Shinji gave a nasty smirk – he knew exactly how to punish her.
“Calling your captain a dog and jackass, are you?” he repeated slowly. “Are you blind as well as deaf, stupid and weak? That you can't find one good analogy to use?” He reached into his desk …
And slammed his other arm into the top, making the side collapse with a massive burst of kido. Suzume fell off and rolled as the desk careened to the side before falling over, spilling ink, pens, and other things to the floor. There was also a pleasant tinkling of broken glass. He then reached into the teetered desk and pulled out a leaf of thick papers.
“Let’s find out, why don’t we?” he hissed, lifting them up. She looked up, rubbing her arm. And he threw the documents in the air. “Can you find what you need and clean the mess before the day is over?” He leaned into her face as more papers fell around them. “Or is it game over for the little bird?”
Shinji stalked out of the office and slammed the door shut, making something else fall.
And for someone to fall over. Finally. He grinned and then grimaced. Maybe that had been a bit childish, tearing up his room. But it felt good. He grinned before striding over to the drills to deliver another batch of orders.

Suzume sighed as she slowly started to get up again before turning around, crawling to a chair and pulling herself up. Some of the papers were still in the air after her fall. Adjusting her kimono top, she placed her glasses on her nose and grabbed the nearest document. It looked like a receipt. She wrinkled her face up. This wasn’t what she was looking for. She leaned down and picked up another. With a wide grin, she leapt in the air… And squeaked as she slid and fell backwards again. She sat up gingerly and pulled off a page sticking to her head from static. Maybe she had underestimated his need to win a little bit. Suzume sat up straight and set her spectacles on her head. But that didn’t mean she was going to let him win this bout. She’d got her information, and if she had to swim for it, so be it. She was used to doing paperwork on the ground anyways. “I’ll show him blind and stupid….” She paused and tilted her head. “How about piss poor excuse of a predator? Is that a good curse?” She stayed like that for a moment before focusing and pushing paper away from her. “I need to fix the desk, too. And check for glass….” She continued murmuring as she retrieved a pen from the ground and stuck it behind her ear, wading into the disaster zone around her. - END RP - "First Act; An End to Nobility":

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 494 "Prodding an Oni": (continued) Shunsui watched as the few members close to the captain’s office scurried away, bowing to him, as he appeared. It was as if they knew what would follow. The commander couldn’t blame them. “Might bring them something tasty next time,” he mused, rapping on the door. “I don’t hear walls cracking or sirens screaming so go away!” a voice sneered from beyond. Shunsui set his free hand on his hat and closed his eyes. “Open the door, Hirako-san. I don’t need to kick it down. We both know there are multiple windows on the other side of that room and I can intrude even more so from that angle.” Silence followed him. “We’re going to talk for a moment one way or another. It’s your choice how, and don’t make me chase you. You’ll end up with a bloody nose.” He waited, and stepped aside as the door blasted past him, sizzling from a Kido blast. “Your force is getting better. It stayed intact this time, but I think the hinges are broken.”

“Ha!” the Visored beyond the door scoffed, lowering his hand. “If you care about the state of my room, then you’d leave me in peace,” the blonde captain snapped. A jagged scar ran down one side of his face, and his eyes swirled with restless golden and red tints. “But someone made your lazy ass our commander and I’m left to let you invade my privacy.” He tossed a wad of paper behind him.
“What do you want? I already told your dumb lieutenant to take her list away.”

Shunsui looked around the room of scattered or tossed files and snagged an overturned chair from a corner. “I know. I saw her walk off, fixing the file you ruined." He sat down, setting the food on his lap. "But I hope you realize that I can’t let you get off with calling her stupid. If you want this to stay friendly, better call her something else.”
Sorry, Nanao-chan. I'm going to use you a bit.

Shinji’s eyes glittered, latching on the challenge in the warning. “Oh that’s easy. Rude, annoying, short.” His words trailed off as the image of another woman fitting that description filled his mind. “Weak.”
“Resilient, adaptive, curvy and beautiful,” the commander rebutted.
The Visored growled and pulled his tie off, throwing it to the other side of the room yet again. “Small, slow, short-sighted brat.”

Shunsui chuckled, lowering his hat over his eyes. “Not sure I should let you get away with brat either, but she is much younger than me, so I’ll let that slide.” He paused. “Observant, nimble, clever bookworm.”
The Visored's palm slammed on the top of his desk, his reiatsu dark red around him. "Get out."
"You did what you could."

Shinji’s face pulled up in a wide smiling sneer of malice as his powers warped the wood of his desk underneath him, letting his fingernails/claws rake down. “I did nothing,” he hissed. “Just as you did, old dog. So why don’t you go back to fixing what you broke while you were on your back dozing and leave me to pick up the pieces of what remains here. Ghosts! That’s all that remains. Ghosts and cursed souls that have no other place but the curse that their quack captains left behind for them.”
"And what curse would that be?" a cool voice murmured.
Shinji grabbed the plastic cup of coffee, throwing it even as it imploded in his grasp, lukewarm liquid spewing out all around him.
"That's none of your business!"

Shunsui sighed deeply and stood up again. "Well, it is, but maybe if you can't say it aloud, you don't quite believe it yourself," he supplied quietly. "I mean, if you did, would you be alive here? Mourning? Demanding answers? Hating your own weakness?"
He set the package of food down on the chair he had vacated. "You're not alone, Hirako-san. We all feel like that, maybe not in all the same way, but no one is satisfied now."

"Satisfied?!" Hirako snarled, eyes whirling. "You think I want to be satisfied?!"
"You want progress. To not fall into the same hole Aizen put you in when he betrayed you and you've slipped into over and over after. Just as we all have."
"Ha!" the man growled. "Satisfaction is for those who have something to live for. When there's nothing but yawning, burning emptiness tearing into you, satisfaction will make you choke! Even if some live, what did we get by living on? Hope, relief, a future? Lies! Scarecrows torn apart by scars and sins. Foolish ghosts that won't seek rest but eternal wandering and suffering. And demons that still won't die or leave you in peace."
He pointed a long, shaking finger at the commander. "What do you have to show for coming back? HuH! Broken vows and shields? Tattered wills and fragmented powers? It's torn asunder over - and over - and over. Deal with your own tumbling house of cards, leader, and I will keep mine."

"While we're alive, there is always another hope, Hirako," the commander whispered. He turned around. "If we look forward, shields can be repaired, souls healed, and our wills can be rekindled. Lessons can be learned from our errors, new paths revealed from failing. And even if our power has been wrested from us, if we seek it again, it will burn with new purpose. That is what it means to be a soul reaper." "You refuse to leave this post, old friend. Consider why." He left those words behind him. - END RP -
