Isane smiled warmly, "that is fine. We still have some room left." She looked to Kita and Toshiro. "I guess I need to find a place for Kisuke and Tessai to rest their heads when they are ready."
Kita smiled giving Kairo a small wave, then spoke to Isane. "I am willing to give my bed up for one of them. Since Gin has went into his coma I don't rest long any more. Not sure if it is from me worrying or not having him by my side."
Isane smiled softly and patted her shoulder. "He will be back before you know it, Kita." Isane was not to thrilled on that thought but wanted to comfort Kita. She looked quickly to Tsukiro and Kairo. "Are you following us or going with your lieutenant back out to find survivors?"

Kairo looked to Tsukiro who had a look of warning deep in his dark eyes. Chuckling, he bowed. “As much as I would love to help a lady find rest after saving our Captain Commander and comrades, I think I will pass. Luck may have silenced the fires but there ares still many unaccounted for.”
He bowed again. “There’s also the fact that something has sealed our zanpakutos making the search more difficult.”
His smile grew as Tsukiro’s eyes narrowed at him, probably because Kairo had reminded his best friend what he had forgotten and why he had entered the Fourth Division in the first place - to find out the reason for such a dramatic change - before panic really started taking ahold of the people.

Isane sighed, she had almost forgotten. "That will be address by Captain Ukitake I am sure. He will have to let the masses know about what has taken place." She looked to Toshiro, "as well as explaining the loss of the Tenth Division Captain and the sight of the Captain Commander."
The two looked at her with wide questioning eyes.
"I am sorry I can't elaborate more boys. I will leave that to the one in charge."

Tsukiro cocked his head and looked to Kairo. "I guess we should get back out there and control everyone. We don't need wide spread panic at this point."
Kairo nodded to his Captain as Tsukiro stepped closer to Kita and kissed her cheek. "I will come back around and check on you later. Please get some rest. For me at least."
"How are you going to find me?" Kita asked him.
Tsukiro smiled, "Trust me. I will find you." He pressed his lips to her cheek with a lingering kiss.

Kairo pulled his friend back by his haori, winking at Kita. "Can I have a kiss to-" He fell backwards onto the ground as Tsukiro flipped him onto the floor.
His friend folded his arms, looking over at him with a promise of vengeance in his eyes. "I don't think that shoulder is bad at all, second place, and if you're much slower, I'll kick you back to our division."
Isane shook her head wryly. "Please refrain from giving me more work, boys."
Kairo chuckled and stood up. "Look who got us demoted now." He ducked as Tsukiro swung at him, winking at Kita. It looked like some of the weight of the destruction outside had left Tsuki's shoulders. That was all that mattered to Kairo.

Tsukiro growled and stepped past Kairo as he grabbed the back of his shihakusho tugging him behind him. "Stop flirting with Kita, damn it!" He growled under his breath as he walked away. Tsukiro hearing Kita giggle softly as they left.
"Bye, and be careful you two." Kita called to them waving.
However, only Kairo saw her wave from being dragged down the hall by his captain.

Kairo let his childhood friend drag him off. "Who said I was flirting~?" he called out, loud enough to be heard by the two captains and Kita. He wondered what had happened but was content to wait, and honestly, he had needed a change from the desolate scenery.... He looked up just as the three behind them disappeared down another hallway. Perhaps that had been why Shota had continuously got in trouble. He sighed to himself, promising himself to bring out his strongest liquor tonight if it survived. "I'll ask Bubblehead tomorrow."

Post by Kagawa Eiji on Nov 29, 2015 20:07:06 GMT -6
"Dusk II (Continued)": Kagawa appeared, Shibungoretsu in hand. His nearly white eyes narrowed as the wounded and handicapped cowered behind several able bodied individuals. Tightening his grasp on the handle, Shibungoretsu cracked on the air. Its sharp end sliced at the able Soul Reapers, tearing them apart.
As one Soul Reapers head fell to the floor, Teruo appeared and eviscerated another. The grin on his grin was filled with blood as he feasted on the flesh of another. As Teruo feasted, Kagawa turned to those who remained.
"Surrender, now. Or, let death come to you quickly."An arc of lighting shot through the Fourth Division, as Teruo pulled the heart of one of the fallen. "Surrender? That's not the way of the Soul Reaper. And, it'll never be." Raiden placed his scythe on his shoulder, a smile forming on his lips. "There's no way in hell the we'll win with you Ayakashi here. Especially that one." He lifted the scythe, pointing to Teruo.
"But, I sure as hell am going to take as many of you assholes with me.""So, you've chosen to die." Kagawa's eyes turned black, as he looked to the bold Soul Reaper. "Sunder." Kagawa raised Shibungoretsu, as the whip disappeared in his grasp. Looking toward the Soul Reaper, Kagawa watched as the Soul Reaper's own eyes turned black.Raising his scythe, Raiden placed its razor edge to his neck. Raiden closed his eyes, dragging the blade across his neck.Teruo laughed as the Shinigami fell to the ground. "Well, isn't that interesting." He sonido'd over to the dying Shinigami and sat on his chest. As the man choked on his blood, Teruo grinned. "What was that about taking someone with you?"
Digging his fingernails into the flesh of the Shinigami, Teruo ended the man's pain and pulled his head from his body.As his eyes returned to their normal white, and Shibungoretsu returned to his hand, Kagawa looked to Teruo. "Collar them." He looked among the injured, finding a grey haired woman wearing the Captain's emblem. Pointing to her, Kagawa gave instruction for Teruo to collar her first.
Kagawa returned Shibungoretsu to his side and stepped outside of the Medical Division, signaling to the arrancar in waiting that his task was complete.END RP - Fourth Division

Post by Captain Shinji Hirako on Mar 10, 2017 11:22:31 GMT -6
"Enough":A couple days had passed since the attack at the auction site by Aizen towards Captain Kuchiki and his new family. And a day had passed since the depression of the day had been broken momentarily by the return of a certain person's reiatsu. However, Captain Ukitake had returned weak, and the Shin’o Academy was still under another lock down – though classes had resumed. The conclusion of the festival had also been moved to another day to be scheduled at undetermined time. The captain commander had the divisions on patrols and the healers at ready for more danger. The remaining captains also were taking turns defending him. At the moment, the Fifth Division were guarding the Fourth Division, where those attacked were still recovering. Shinji Hirako leaned against the roof of the medical division, golden eyes hard as they scanned the skies and nearby surroundings. Beneath him, Suzume Shizuka was directing the lower patrols. She was doing a moderately admirable job, but it was still a temporary position for the girl. He’d just cancelled their vendetta due to the situation before them. He couldn’t focus on thwarting the enemy and pushing her away at the same time. Aizen didn’t allow time for that. Muttering, he took another bite from his apple. That parrot, Makino Torii Masanobu was relatively worthy of praise, too. She’d broken down a couple times, but she hadn’t started throwing things or given into speeches of giving up. Even when both her mother and new father were still unconscious, out of danger but still out of reach. Shinji kicked at the shingles beneath him as he turned to a new vantage point after Shizuka had finished changing the patrols and returned indoors to her own position. No, the parrot was coping well, all things considered. The fox’s boy, on the other hand, he wasn’t so sure of. Amber eyes narrowed where the boy’s reiatsu shimmered. At a point against the wall of the division. It had been flickering from his position since he had come out. Once more.

Leaning against a far corner of the wall, Sojiro glared at some point in the sky, his hand tight around his blade. Since the attack, there was rarely a moment he wasn’t holding it. Though he had let go when he felt the return of Take-jii. A bird passed overhead, and his eyes narrowed. The bird froze. It moved on as his grip on time eased.
He didn't know why he was trying to perfect that side of his powers. Something or someone seemed to get in the way each time he seemed ready to use it for important matters. Someone was still hurt. He rubbed at the pressure between his temples. He’d slipped out again when Riku and Allura had shown up to visit, but he couldn’t linger. He needed to return to the room before she worried...
But staying indoors for long was too confining.
His father had dissolved into nothingness. Take-jii had returned to them, but he was still weak, very weak. With marks on his body of what would have taken his life if the gods hadn’t been generous. And his mother was still gone, her godly powers on the same side as the enemy. With Seto, no, Vale and Kadaj. His little brother who only wanted to fix things. With what had happened, it almost didn’t matter that he wasn’t strong enough. There was cold weight festering inside of him, a growing urge to do something he knew wouldn’t help, but he wanted to do something to tear his family away from that place. They belonged here, near him. He missed them. Desperately.
But that meant leaving Makino behind.
And he wouldn’t do that.
So he continued to twist time from his corner, attempting to ignore the fact that everything was tumbling down around him. That he had relied on his surroundings much more than he should.

Yumiko entered the courtyard from a nearby door, Shina in her arms. She’d stayed close to Ukitake since his return and reluctantly left his side. But Shina had started to fuss, feeding on her mother’s anxiety about the future. Humming a lullaby to her, Yumiko decided to take a walk to calm her mind and her daughter.
Catching the shine of Sojiro’s hair out of the corner of her eye, she turned. Adjusting her cooing daughter, she walked over to him. Her nephew didn’t look up, and his hand remained on his blade. “Won’t Makino miss you?” she asked.
Sojiro glanced up and then adjusted his weight against the wall. “She’s with Riku and Allura. I’ll be back inside when they leave to find us lunch.”
Shina twisted against her mother’s chest, and Yumiko adjusted her precious bundle in her arms, rocking her. She chuckled as her daughter opened her crimson eyes and caught one of her fly away locks of hair.
She also heard Sojiro’s voice. “It’s not fair.”
Yumiko freed her hair and looked to him. “What’s not, Soji?”

Sojiro folded his arms across his chest. He hadn't meant to let that slip out. It sounded childish. He knew the world wasn't fair, probably before most kids, too. Las Noches was a place where that became obvious. However – he looked to the little bundle with vibrant crimson eyes – the turn of events wasn't usually this stark and wrong. “It doesn’t make sense. How does another Eva and the return of Take-jii balance the destruction Aizen and his were able to cause – even when we knew he was there?!”
When Makino nearly lost half of her family. When he was able to tear another of my family away from me.
When I won't be around to see my sister and brothers grow up if this war grows any bigger.
He looked away from his honorary aunt again. "She's pretty, by the way."

"Thank you," Yumiko replied, glancing to her daughter and then back to her brooding nephew. The tall profile reminded her of Gin and of the times Kita would walk over and break the silence.
But she wasn't here.
Yumiko adjusted Shina again, looking deep into her red eyes, recalling her promise to the father. “Aizen has always been able to tear at us – he or his followers,” she murmured. Yumiko walked over and slowly transferred her child to Sojiro’s arms, her arms around his own for added protection. “What makes this battle so potent is the way we find the point of hope in the darkness of his brutality.” She stroked her Shina’s downy hair. “He continues to chip at us. That’s true. And yet, this is also true. A star glows brightest at night when all else is dark. Makino and you both survived this skirmish, and so did her family. As long as you’re alive, you can become stronger.”

“And he can hit you again, harder than ever,” Sojiro retorted. As the pang in his chest grew, he transferred the baby girl to his aunt.
“It’s not his victory that worries me,” he muttered. “I know he can be defeated. Half-god or immortal, I know it. But now I wonder,” he turned away once more, “what the cost will be. For my family. Me. Makino. Riku, Mitsuo, and my other friends. Uncle Kisuke. He’s fought this war for so long and built so much in spite of it. But…. so did my mother and father…. but they’ve lost nearly as much. Which way will it be for Makino and her family? “
He took a few steps away from his aunt. “Aizen and his minion get more discerning in their war victims each war. First of all, there were few targets. It was to clear a path. Then, he focused on making points with those who had defeated him by choosing few, like you and my mother. Now, he’s knocking down as many as he can. And we struggle to regain our position before the next blow.” He lowered his head.
“Mother and Father seemed invincible. They’d always return. But … I’m not so sure they will this time. I- I don’t think Dad’s gone – I think he was taken. But … I really don’t like my mother’s message to me, and I don’t know what to think about Vale. He nearly killed my father. He saved me. He’s leaving her in Las Noches with the kids. Mom’s pregnant.”
The doubt gnawing at him was like a great hole in his gut. He punched the wall. “What will the cost be this time in order to put an evil man down? I can’t find that answer and it scares me. I can’t save anyone or protect Makino like this.”

Post by Captain Juushiro Ukitake on Mar 10, 2017 14:50:53 GMT -6
Juushiro, leaning heavily on the doorway, listened to Sojiro voice his fears and doubts, and when he seemed to reach a pause, stepped out onto the courtyard with his own reply. “Doubt may feed fear and anxiety, Sojiro,” he stated in his low, mellow voice that made few judgements. His daughter rushed over and together they stumbled over to Sojiro, who remained by the wall. “But it also let you prepare for the next battle.”
Sojiro sighed. “Uncle Kisuke wouldn’t agree.”
“What makes you say that?” Juushiro inquired with a wane smile.
Sojiro closed his eyes. “When you dodge, 'I won't let them cut me.' If you protect someone, 'I won't let them die.' If you attack, 'I will kill them,' ” he quoted.
Juushiro nodded. “I am aware of this teaching. It’s something he has used with many people, including your father on a couple occasions.” Sojiro flinched and Juushiro closed his eyes. He then hobbled over to Sojiro’s side and sat down on the ground. The boy looked to him. “Sit please. I am still recovering from my brush with destruction.”
When the boy sat down beside him, Juushiro looked up into the blue sky. “Battle is filled with doubt and fear, Sojiro. It’s saturated in the air when two wills clash. But a good warrior knows how to channel that into something else, things such as determination, duty, honor, thoughts of a specific person or goal. Each person has to find the special reason for their strength themselves and then channel that through your weapon or weapons.” He turned back to Sojiro and set a hand on his shoulder. “You’ve been spoiled with reasons to fight, surrounded by your parents and people like my friends Kisuke and Shunsui. But adapting their reasons for your own only works so far and it may not work at all when the world has become as skewed as it has been for you.”
He smiled and squeezed his shoulder, making Sojiro look at him. “That answer will also help you find out how deeply you can be cut and how much cost you can bear before you need help. The pain only remains unbearable if you try to take it on all by yourself. And though there are some people who may be able to feign the ability to survive alone, that is not how we raised you, Sojiro. That is not how either of your parents wish you to live.”
