"Favors":
Makino did not have time to run back to her room to drop off her files she had taken to Byakuya to look through, it had taken a little more time with the Captain than she expected. Though, she did not mind. She had gotten the answers she needed to move forward with this and get the ball to finally rolling again, this time in her court with a little more authority under her.
She had to say she was kind of excited about all this. What she thought was going to be a major headache was turning out to rather fun. All the ideas she had in her head she wanted to do for the Fall Festival and all would cost little to nothing to do and put money into their pockets for the Winter Festival and make back the money spent foolishly by the others that were in control before her.
As she rushed onto the Kido field with about ten minutes to spare she sighed in relief. Now to find their instructor Ayasegawa, hopefully he was there early and not lacking. She really wanted to get this moving and the sooner she could get into that storage room the better. With a better idea of what she actually had, the better idea of what she could and could not do. Her eyes scanned the area quickly when she spotted Ayasegawa out across the filed setting up more targets for the next class. Quickly she made her way toward him.
She decided instead of using the favor he and Ikkaku owed Byakuya she would try to approach him with the honest truth of what was going on to see if they would help, if that did not work, then, she would remind them of the favor they owed Captain Kuchiki, but she figured with their character types they would be happy to help out.

Yumichika looked up from setting up targets when he sensed someone coming. Seeing Makino Tori, he smiled and walked on over to her, folding the flags into his kimono sleeve as he bowed. "Ahhh, it's the beautiful bird who has chosen the prickly path and breaks hearts as she flies overhead, looking far, far away from the current drab atmosphere. What can I do for you, Lady Tori? Still pining for my attention even as the young Ichimaru plucks your heart?"

Makino huffed at his elaboration of her. "Nice Ayase, but I am not like that and you know it. Given we don't know one another that well, but I am no cold hearted person your comment projects me to be. I don't ignore what I have done or what has happened around me. I just can't fix everything or everyone. That's not my place." She sighed shaking her head.
"Anyway, yes I seek your attention. Well... more like your help. I am in need of something only another employed here at the Academy can do, or at least that is what I was lead to believe."

Yumichika pressed a hand to his heart. “My lady, of course I will assist. I am honored that you thought of me. But first,” he took her hand, “you wound me Tori-san. I didn’t mean to imply that you were heartless. Woe be it to the one who would say such a vile thing about such a glorious creature as you are. I merely meant that you have given your heart and will no longer look at the other poor souls who were hoping for a piece of your tender soul.”
He released her and bowed again, this time a hand going to adjust his hair. “What can I do for you today in all seriousness? And I do hope there’s an air of danger to your task. All the tension of last month just went out like a poor rose that has been trampled. There was nothing for me to do and that has left me quite put out."

Makino bowed to the man. "I do apologize then for taking your compliment wrong. And I am sorry, but there is no danger involved in this matter." She then paused. "Well... unless the one I am seeking is involved in this mess as well. Though, I am not too sure how dangerous five young students and a teacher can be."
Ayasegawa looked at her oddly. "What is this mess you speak of, Tori-san?"
"Well it is a rather long story, but to cut to the chase. The girls that were head of Events for the Festivals have embezzled funds from the Academy. I have found proof of such actions and I need to prove what they say they have acquired actually exists and it is just not a cover. The girl that was head of this committee will not give me the key to the storage room they have said items stored. I was told there should be a teacher or councilor that holds the master key to this storage room. I was told you and Ikkaku could help me find out who this person was and get the key from them so I can look into this."

Yumichika slid a hand through his hair. “Well, that is a tangled web, though I suppose if there was a place to embezzle and learn the consequences, the Academy would be the best learning environment. In the real world, the consequences can be severe.”
“So Byakuya-sama told me,” Tori supplied.
Yumichika grinned widely. “Byakuya-sama, hmmm? Getting closer to him or is there a wedding I haven’t been invited to?” He paused. “I would hate to crash the wedding because I was ignored, you know~”

Makino giggled softly, "No wedding yet that I have been informed of, but I know it is coming. Not that it is my place to announce, but it is rather obvious that they are getting closer." She nodded slowly. "And yes, I can safely say I am getting closer to my future father. He is not as bad I had heard in the past." Her smile grew. "That or my mothers charms are greater than I believed."
"Anyway, back on track here. I need that key. Without it I am at a loss and will have to start over." She sighed. "Then again even if I get it I still might have to start over. It depends on what I find in there. And if they have done away even with the Academy's personal items there will really be a mess on our hands and theirs." A saddened look entered her eyes. "We will have to cancel the Fall Festival all together."

Yumichika set a hand over hers. “Don’t worry, Tori-san. It is safe to say that if something were to happen that would make the usual avenue of the festival impossible that the Gotei would find some other way to keep it going. Especially this year.” He paused. “It was to be a sign that we were close to peace again. Now it will hopefully give closure to those still grieving.”
He, himself, could come up with more than a few names for people who could use that boost. He shook himself.
“Either way, I think I could find that information for you or procure said key to the mischief makers' game." He raised her hand, is if to kiss it, a sly light shining through his lowered eyelashes. "But what, fair bird, would you do for me?"

Makino was not sure what to think of his question. She then stopped in thought and smiled slyly at him as she looked up at him. "I have a few things I could do in return for your help. As long as they are within reason and morals. What is it you wish of me for this favor?"
Ayase's eyes glittered as he chuckled quietly. "A lady who can match me, gesture and word. It really is too bad Ichimaru swept you away." He kissed her hand. "If you are lonely, my door is always open to such finery." He chuckled again. "As to my favor, let's just say I'll ask it of you at another date and you can trust to my discretion and honor. Does that satisfy you, little hawk?"
Makino smiled at him. "I will remember that and I will trust you for the later date on your favor." Just then footsteps were heard entering the field she looked back over her shoulder. It was the next person she need to speak to. This one might be a little tougher since the two had not talked since Ryusuke and he had their little bout in Hakuda training, but it was time to break that silence between them they were friends, and friends did not ignore one another over something as foolish as what happened. She looked back to Ayasegawa.
"So say a couple of days and I should be hearing good news from you and receiving my needed item?"

Looking over her shoulder to find company, he sighed and released her hand. “I will either have the item, knowledge, or I will be offering you a heartfelt extravagant apology.” He winked. “And believe me, beautiful Tori, that is a rare thing indeed.” He stepped backwards. “Go to your friend and I bid thee farewell. Until I am forced to pair up with you in class and my day brightens again.”
The delightful young woman giggled and thanked him, and he waited for her to be preoccupied before pulling out the flags and untangling them from the magic trick he had been about to offer her. Perhaps another time.
For now, he needed to put these on the poles. How few would get their mark today, he wondered. And would any dazzle his eyes?

Riku Asuhara stretched as he entered the field, a wide grin on his face. "Kido class!" He said enthusiastically. He placed his hands on his hips, smirking to himself. "So, Tanahashi has been upping his Kido game, huh? Well then, that leaves no excuse for me not to do the same. If he's learning such advanced Kido spells, then I need to advance further too."
Just as he was about to take his place for class, he spotted a certain someone out of the corner of his eye walking towards his direction. He looked up and confirmed his guess. It was indeed Makino. He looked around, seeing if there was someone else she could possibly be looking for. There was no one. Only him. He swallowed hard and linked his fingers together to keep them from shaking. Thankfully she wore a smile as she walked up.
"Maki-chan. It's good to see you. How are you?" He returned her smile nervously.

Makino nodded slowly to him. "I have been good, and keeping busy. But first, before I say another word I want to apologize for my action that day all that stuff went down between you and Ryusuke. I took it a little harder than I should have and I apologize for that." She bowed slightly to him.
Riku chuckled lightly a nervous look still on his face as she looked back up at him. She giggled softly. "I am not here to lecture you Riku or scold you. My apologize is genuine." She paused for a second, "I need your help as a matter of fact. Something right up your alley, and I believe you will have a lot of fun with, but let me warn you. It is not going to be all fun and games. It will take time and a lot of work on your part, but I will be there to help if and when you need it. I won't leave you to fend for yourself in this."

"Oh?" He said with extreme interest. "Up his alley" definitely meant something expensive and priceless. Something worth stealing and collecting. Something sparkly and precious. His eyes widened with anticipation, his hands burning as he imagined what Makino could possibly need his help with. All nervousness about their previous speaking terms went out the window. "What is it?"
Makino giggled slightly at the spark that lit up inside of him. "I need your help with an Amateur Fines Arts Auction for the Fall Festival. I will explain why later. Its a long story, but just know this auction is very important to the success of the Winter Festival if it fails we won't have the funds to make it happen this year."
Personally, Riku thought that “amateur” and “fine arts” went together like flies in soup. However, in theory, all of his favorite artists started out as amateurs, no matter how talented they were. Amateur artists were the foundation for the masters of tomorrow. And if no one gave them a chance, how would they ever go on to create great masterpieces? The thief that still resided in Riku didn’t give a damn about where the funds from the auction were going (part of him wondered if that was Kusemono talking). However, this was important to Makino, and so he had to make sure that this auction was a success. Plus he always enjoyed the Winter Festival. It would be a shame for it to not happen this year.
He smiled wide and bright and placed his hands on his hips once more, nodding. “You certainly came to the right place, Maki-chan~ If there’s one thing I know, it’s what belongs in an auction and what belongs in a trashcan. Don’t worry. I won’t let this break our fun this winter. No matter what.”

Makino smiled brightly at him then quickly stepped forward and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you Riku. I was really worried you might pass since everything that happened." She parted from the hug looking at him.
"I am sure there will be more than just drawings and paintings in this auction." She giggled softly. "As a matter of fact I know there will be. My mother wants to clean out the spare room where she keeps her art work and she has things that are a mix of anything a person could make with their hands. Paper Crafting, Sewing, Paintings and Drawings, Wood Work and Pottery, and I know she has a few of her kimono's she has painted in the mix as well, and I am not sure what else."
The two walked over to the benches and took a seat together as Riku listened intently to her. "I thought we could get some fliers up to announce what we are doing and see who else might step up to donate their art work to help out. OH! Byakuya-sama wants to have a silent auction for the more expensive, finer items. I think that would be good it will attract more of the Noble side and we all know how they like to spend money." She grinned knowingly.

Riku nodded slowly, listening and thinking. Suddenly he broke out into a grin. He looked at Makino. "I know how to get the attention of the nobles for the silent auction. I'm sure you know that the Asuharas aren't the only thieving family in Soul Society. However, we are one of very few who pull robin hood scams. There are entire thieves guilds located in Rukongai who will steal from any noble family, corrupt or not."
He sighed and looked down at his feet. "My father keeps tabs on the 'lowlife thieves' as he puts it. I know of plenty noble families who have been robbed of their wealth, both tangible and intangible, who did not deserve it. I also know which noble families don't deserve to have their wealth. I may not steal anymore, but I can't bring myself to sell items like these to those families. I will not put wealth back into the pockets of the corrupt. For any reason. But I would like to make the families who lost a lot for no reason other than greed whole again."
Riku stood up and turned to face her. "But, I will need your help with that. You may trust me, but I am sure there are plenty of noble families who don't trust the Asuhara name, regardless if they've been robbed by us or not. I can tell you the names of the families who have been wrongfully stolen from, and you can go to them and inform them of the auction. Only you'll have to be careful about it. It might look strange if all of the families who have been stolen from all show up to the same auction. You can bring in the honest families, and I can deter any corrupt families who might be attracted to the auction, as well as any thieves who might hear about it through the grapevine. And I can promise you, with that much valuable goods in one place, there will be thieves who may show up to sniff things out."
