Izuru shook his head and sat up only to be met with Kisuke's hand at his shoulder. He looked at Kisuke and shook his head again. "I am fine. I have lived through worse." Once sat up he looked at the ones in the room. "Ichimaru will not let Kita die. What are you not understanding about he needs her? He is aware of this. In a sense he has accepted her and she is like air to him. Without her he dies."

Juushiro sighed. "If you're right, let's hope his master doesn't realize this or the fox has figured out how to distract him from looking deeper into that. On the other hand, as long as Sousuke sees a use for Kita, that means Ichimaru is still at his back waiting."

Rangiku looked Izuru's way. "Does he love her?" Her voice shaken, but she was not sure from what. The extra wound, the attack on her life from Gin or from the thought of maybe losing Gin.
Izuru looked at her taking her hand in his and held it gently but firmly with his own. "I don't know that answer. I don't think even Ichimaru knows that answer."

Hitsugaya sighed heavily. "We have to stop Aizen. There's no other way to end this..."

Kisuke looked to Hitsugaya and sighed. "Thank you Mister Obvious, but I think we already knew that."
Juushiro chuckled. "Yes, we do, but it didn't hurt to say it aloud, old friend."

"Then we need a new angle. We need to step away from Kita and Yumiko and focus on hurting Aizne from a different approach."

"The only way it may be possible to hurt Sousuke is through his daughter, but I don't think that is an angle we should fall to," Juushiro murmured. He sighed and shook his head. "I agree with our Hat-n-Clogs here. We wait for his next attack. He will return soon enough for the Hougyoku. When he does, we fight back and hope we can counter any pain he sends our way."

"Can we talk about this another time? My head is really starting to hurt." Rangiku told them quietly. Her arm draped over her eyes.

Kisuke nodded to Juushiro then looked kindly to Rangiku as he started to lift. Izuru extended his hand Kisuke shook his head at the bullheaded boy.
"I am fine. Just a little pain. Other than that, all is great." He looked to Rangiku with sad eyes. "She needs the time to think and sort through this."
Kisuke nodded to both accounts and helped him up. Toshiro and Juushiro standing with them. "If you need anything Rangiku just yell for one of us."

"But before we go," Juushiro said, opening the closet near her feet, "we have something for you." He pulled out a large basket of goodies, topped with plastic lilies. He chuckled. "Someone added flowers that wouldn't die since we didn't know when you would wake up." He set the basket by her side and smiled. "We're really glad you decided to wake up, Matsumoto. I'll reassure everyone back at soul society."

Rangiku smiled warmly. "It's good to be awake, Captain Ukitake and thank you all for this lovely basket of goodies." She told them looking at it as he sat it next to her bedside. She smiled at them all again as she watched them all exit the room closing the door behind her.
Once the door closed she sighed and looked up at the ceiling. "What are you up to Gin-san?"
After a few more minutes she pushed herslef up in the bed with a winch and pulled the basket in front of her. She dug through the basket finding her favorites. Dried persimmons. When she lifted them out she noticed something odd about the bag. It had a piece of paper wrapped around it.
Slowly she worked the note loose and opened it. Her eyes widened, it was Gin's handwriting. She began to read...

Ran,
If you didn't tear this up when you first saw it, I'm glad. I'm sorry I let Shinsou cut you and I will always be sorry about it. I love you. I know I never said it aloud. I wanted to be worthy of it, but I guess I never will be. It's up to you if you wish to chase me if I survive this. With this note and and Shinsou's slash, I release both of us from our unsaid pact.
I am doing this to stop Aizen and to maybe keep you safe from him. He came after you because of me and I won't allow that anymore. Let him take his revenge. But on me. By the time you read this letter, all the ties to your side of the war will be severed by my own hand. I won't let him touch the past. Not anymore.
I am going back to my lonely road. I should never have left it.
Sayonara, Ran.
It's for myself I strike at Aizen now.
-Gin
I'm sorry again for breaking your heart so many times.

A tear slipped from Rangiku's eyes as she read the note. Her heart aching even more as she clutched the note to her chest and fell back in her bed. She cried softly to herself closing her eyes.
"You're such an idiot Gin-san." She spoke softly in the silence of her room, her tears still falling.~END RP~ "Home Again":

"Waking Up":
Aizen chuckled from the bed. “Do you really think you can stop me?” Heat suffusing her body …. Pain blossoming over her cheek … and darkness. “You give us no choice, Yumiko. As a Ryouma, you should have learned to control these powers given to you. It was the only duty that remained to you. But because you don’t want to succeed in this …
I do… I do…
Biting her cheek to stay silent as was proper… cuffs weighing on her hands ….
I’ve tried… I know you didn’t want to consider marriage, but this was an atrocious way to go about proving your point….
Hands trembling inside sleeves in place of tears ….
"Remember that you're mine, Yumiko Ryouma," his dark voice whispered, running a hand over the curve of her naked hip. "Enjoy the night."
. . . . . Yumiko sat up, gasping, the feel of Aizen's touch and kiss still embedded in her mind from the dream and memories. She wrapped her arms around herself, brushing her hair off her damp neck and face and breathing out. She closed her eyes then looked down at her arms, removing the gloves and running her hands over her wrists.
She started as a hand settled on her shoulder and the white-haired .... captain put a steaming cup into her hands.
"Ukitake-san?" she asked.
Juushiro smiled as he sat by her. "Do you remember?" he asked, reaching over to comb the hair from her face.
She smiled slightly. "Barely. I'm sorry."
He nodded, still smiling. "It doesn't matter," he murmured. "Drink. You'll feel better."
She looked down into the cup then sipped slowly at the hot chocolate. Indeed, it warmed her body and seemed to free her from the haunting feelings of the dream. "You've done this before, haven't you?"

Juushiro chuckled, still combing her hair back out of her face. "Yes, I have. Nightmares have not been an uncommon occurrence with you, especially when circumstances have changed." She tilted her head towards him, a question in her blue violet eyes. "When you were sealed, there would come a time when the spells holding you would need to be strengthened. I often did that for you."
"You did?" she asked.
"Yes," the captain said gently. He looked away, eyes narrowed. Particularly after your family abandoned you.
"Thank you," Yumiko said. He started. She looked down in her hands. "I feel like I am missing a lot of time between the time the Ryouma clan left me and when Aizen came, but I feel like I trusted you." She chuckled shortly. "And I don't think it's in the same way as I have Aizen, if that makes sense."
Juushiro chuckled. "It does." He rose from his seated position. "Yoruichi found you some clothes to change into, if you want to shower or take a bath."
She nodded, head still down.
He set a hand on her shoulder. "It's not your fault, Yumiko. None of this is."
She nodded again, a glimmer of a smile on her face.
"Do you want me to come back for you for the meal, or would you rather eat here?"
"Can you come back?" she asked.
Juushiro nodded. "Try to drink your chocolate. It's always helped before." He closed the door and chuckled at seeing Kisuke there.
