Soi Fong walked in heavy footed with a sour look on her face as she looked to the others that arrived before her. Just minutes before she was ranting at her squad for slacking. She was angered at the thought of Aizen's escape even after two years, but to think the bastard had the nerve to sneak back in and kidnap Yumiko from under their nose.
This did more then infuriate her. This set her ass on fire and anyone that got in her way heard about it. She walked past the others and took her place in the row waiting for the Captain Commander to show.

Kurotsuchi Mayuri was one of the last four to walk in. Only three more to show and the meeting was well on its way. All that was missing was Isane, Kenpachi and the Captain Commander himself.
He looked around at all the long and hard faces that stood waiting. "If you would have just let me have Sousuke to do with what I wanted. We would not be in this situation. But no. You all thought I would be too cruel with him." He sighed taking his place. "But if you ask me it would have been too humane in my book." He shrugged his shoulders. "Oh well! You live, you learn."
At that Kurotsuchi sighed and clasping his hands as they hung down in front of him.

The last three came in together, Kenpachi, Isane, and the Captain Commander.
Kenpachi, kimono and haori more ragged than usual and sporting a few bandages on his chest and arms, took his place near the white-haired captain, with a great huff.

Isane and the Captain Commander finished conferring together about something in the entrance before she bowed and moved on to her respective place in the lines. The Captain Commander sighed to himself and walked down the center of the lines, glancing from side to side and making notes on each expression. Shunsui swiped his hat off the chair and returned it to his head. He didn't take a seat, turning to stand in front of it.
"Let's begin," he stated into the still hall. The doors to the Captain's Assembly Hall slid shut as the attendants outside left the area.
Shunsui sighed again, lowering his head.
"As I am certain you gathered from the Hell Butterflies sent out, if nothing else, Sousuke Aizen has returned to plague us. He's finally reappeared after two short quiet years of peace, a brief reprieve most necessary to the health of our community and divisions, but unfortunately, that time is over. He's begun his attacks again, striking at our weak points as if we don't matter.
I am sorry to report that two captives have been taken from Karakura Town, Orihime Inoue and the Substitute's little sister, Karin Kurosaki. They were taken by one espada we believed dead, the Fourth Ulquiorra Cifer, and a new one, yet unidentified."
He paused to let others digest this and ask questions.

Nori looked the way of the Captain Commander. "Please excuse my ignorance here Captain Commander, but the two human girls of which you speak. Wasn't the one Orihime Inoue taken by Sousuke once before? If I remember correctly she was never harmed. So is it safe to say she will be treated in the same manner as before? Or is there chance to believe she may be in danger this time?" She looked at the others standing around the room with her.

Juushiro spoke up. "Sousuke was fascinated by her powers in the first war, but at the same time, said he kidnapped her only to lure Soul Society to split their forces. Either way, she was unharmed when Kurosaki and his friends rescued her. In fact, the espada Ulquiorra seemed to protect her carefully on Aizen's orders. Those accounts make the Commander and I believe that she will be relatively safe in Las Noches again."
He pasued then added. "It is the Substitute's sister we worry about the most of the two. Karin has her brother's nature."

'Maybe for the same reason," the commander murmured. "Draw out at least the Substitute who was key to defeating him last time. And maybe that's not the reason at all."

"Just prove that he can and there's nothing we can do about it, right?" Shinji inquired from his place, blunt as always. The captain commander nodded. The blonde captain let out a puff of air.

Nori looked around the room. They seemed to be tip-toeing around what happen just last week. Finally, she could take no more. Being the Captain of the intelligences division she had to have answers and here was the best place to get them. "And what of the young noble girl? Yumiko Ryouma. Do you believe what Urahara as drawn his conclusion on?" She tilted her head with a questioning look. "A gut feeling?"

Shunsui and Juushiro exchanged glances and then sighed, Shunsui lowering his hat over his eyes. "I should have known our intelligence captain would make certain I covered that." He was quiet for a few moments then raised his head. "Since Nori-chan brought it to everyone's attention, I will continue with this meeting's next agenda: the defense of Karakura Town and the disappearance of the noble Yumiko Ryouma." He paused. I will start at the beginning of the matter of Yumiko Ryouma for those who were not told of this matter because it was either unnecessary or forbidden by Central 46."
He took a breath. "Nearly a century ago, a portion of the nobles' sector was set aflame instantaneously. Miraculously, no one was injured, and the matter was closed in most avenues; however, that was not the full truth. After that incident was fully examined and the cause discovered, that of a powerful and potentially dangerous zanpakuto in a new soul reaper's hands, Central 46 took steps that haven't been implemented for some time." He fell silent then stated, "It was for her protection, as the incident threatened both herself and those around her, but it was harsh nonetheless."
The Captain Commander continued. "Yumiko Ryouma's zanpakuto, reiatsu, and sight were sealed until such time she could grow into her powers. She was placed a room of perpetual solitude and in closely guarded secrecy. Few visitors were allowed, including Yama-jii, Juushiro, myself, and heads of the noble houses." Here, he looked to Byakuya, who nodded curtly. Shunsui turned back to the group.
"A week ago, she disappeared from the elaborate sealed holding room with no trace of a forced entry. While I hope she is not Sousuke's hands - there are other options - I dare not overlook the grim high possibility presented by the evidence pointed out by Kisuke Urahara."
He fell silent, seeing if there were any questions at this point.
When the captains remained slient, he addressed his lifelong friend. "Juushiro, will you share the extent of Yumiko's zanpakuto to the captains?"

Juushiro nodded.
"Yumiko possesses a rare water type zanpakuto called Mizue no Kagami, and not unlike my own Sougyo no Kotowari, her zanpakuto interacts with the powers in the area." He sighed. "Mizue's strongest ability is to reflect the powers of any zanpakuto in the area by stealing a small portion of the owner's reiatsu to project through a 'mirror' created through the blade. Central intervened because even a partial reflection of a powerful zanapkuto could be disastrous when she could not control it." The captain closed his eyes, deliberated for a moment, then stated quietly, "The fires set off that fateful day were the result of her accidentally reflecting Yamamoto's Ryuujin Jakka. That is the extent of her powers."

Soi Fong shook her head. "Leave it to Central to take it to extremes over something like this. Taking the girls zanpakuto and breaking it would have sufficed. In stead they destroy her life to save a power that anyone would want control of. No wonder Sousuke kidnapped her from under our noses."
She growled under her breath crossing her arms over her chest. "I have no doubt that he was the one that came and took her now."

Kurotsuchi Mayuri nodded his head."That's true. Why did they have to seal the girl. Sealing her zanpakuto or breaking it would have made much better sense. Instead they condemned her to a life of darkness and solitude."
He shook his head. "Our laws here really need some serious revising."

Shinji Hirako chewed a candy slowly before swallowing it.
"You guys, life is harsh. Deal with it," he declared bluntly and rolled his shoulders. "We can't go back in time, we don't control those laws, and she was a noble. They play by different games and have their own little rules," he emphasized with a slight sneer. "it's not like even the Old Man could go against Central sticking their asses in it."
When the Captain Commander raised an eyebrow at his language, the blonde rolled his eyes. "In any case, I know what those toys they returned were for now and I have to agree about this having Sousuke's filthy fingerprints all over it."
"Lucky us."
