Shinji merely raised an eyebrow at the ruckus, wondering at the conspiracy between the two eldest captains and if his old friend Kisuke Urahara was involved.

Captain Kuchiki continued to stay quiet, watching and keeping his keen dislike for Captain Mayuri to himself. Even if he's right about Urahara being a coot, the shopkeeper would be a safer leader than him, and of course, he left the madman for us to deal with. He glanced at the Captain Commander, who seemed to be watching the reactions before continuing again.

The Captain Commander sat in the commander's chair and thought to himself as the captains began to talk. How to best salvage this situation? Shunsui wondered to himself.
He rose again. "Urahara's experiments and Las Noches' interest in them are nothing new to this company. Urahara has requested assistance protecting his assets, and I have decided to answer him. But before the third seat's outburst, I was about to answer Captain Hitsugaya, and for now, I will return to that.
As Hitsugaya pointed out, Sousuke can't be allowed to have the power that Yumiko Ryouma possesses and it is a difficult situation to reverse. However, I believe we do have some time on our side. Yumiko won't become his weapon overnight. It will take time for her to grow into her abilities after being in the dark for so long, even if she happened to become a studious learner. I am counting on that gap of time.
He released a low sigh. "However, I'm admitting here and now that freeing Yumiko Ryouma will not be easy. When she was kidnapped, there's a high possibility Sousuke fractured her memories as a result of removing the seal on her powers without the key. No doubt he will use that as another way to control her. You are be watchful and wary. Do not harm her unless you must. It will only increase his hold on her and that is an order from your commander."
Captain Commander Kyoraku's eyes narrowed. "The kidnapping of the noble Ryouma is yet another sign that we have grown lax with couple years of peace afforded us. We will not be caught off guard again. These are my orders."
The captains' present stood rigid.
"As Kisuke Urahara is the closest man on our side to understand the way Sousuke's mind works, I have decided to make him the general in the defense of Karakura Town, which continues to attract our enemy's eye. He is also to be in charge of freeing the captives.
There's no doubt in my mind that he's going to be using anyone I send in as soon as possible, now with Kita captured too..." His eyes narrowed. Though it seems too quickly after the others to be him. We may have time.
He continued with his orders. "Captain Hitsugaya, Captain Hirako, I am sending your squads as the first wave of his aid. Captain Ukitake will follow you and act as second in command if Captain Kotetsu deems him fit for the field. Furthermore, Captain Kenpachi's division is in charge of the defense of Soul Society if he dares set foot here again."
The captains addressed nodded. Kenpachi grinned.
"Captain Mayuri, you are to halt any and all other projects until you can complete something close to the following objective." He paused. "Hollows have always been the antithesis of our technology. We're alerted to their whereabouts when they start their attacks, not before, and this is something Sousuke has always used against us, moving his arrancar and his espada where he will. I want that halted. Find a way to detect a gargantua's opening and coordinate your research with your former superior."
"Captain Ukitake, Mutsu, Koriyama, Kuchiki, and Soi Fon remain in the room. Captain Hitsugaya adjourn with your third seat to my office. I will join you shortly. The rest of you are dismissed."

Kurotsuchi nodded to the Captain Commander. "I can do that." He then turned to Juushiro. "Are you going to drop the barrier? I have pressing work to do. So please make it quick."

Juushiro chuckled. "it doesn't prevent you from leaving. It's to keep what happens in here quiet. I apologize if that was not clear since it is a barrier of my own devising." Captain Mayuri moved onwards, muttering about knowing that fact in the first place. Juushiro stayed quiet.

Hitsugaya nodded to the Captain Commander. "Yes, sir. Understood."
His gaze shifted to his unconscious Third Seat. He sighed heavily, knowing that there would be no getting around the issue of him wanting to go to Las Noches with the rest of his Squad. The truth was, he and Matsumoto were his two best shinigami in Squad Ten. Leaving Ashimitsu in the barracks would put them at a disadvantage. And with this mission, he would need all the strength he could get. However, he also knew that when he took him along, he was sure to go off and find Kita on his own. The only upside to that was that if Kita really was the Seraph and Ashimitsu succeeded that would be a huge relief of weight off of the Gotei Thirteen's shoulders.
He sighed again, shaking his head. "Why do you have to be so reckless? Even worse, it usually ends in you getting what you wanted anyway," he said mostly to himself.

Shinji smirked and saluted the group before ducking out. This time, Sousuke, I am going to carve a smile on your face with my darling'
He frowned in the next moment. "Hinamori-chan won't like this, not that I can blame her." He tilted his head in thought on how to best deal with this point as he left the hall.

Hitsugaya grit his teeth as his heartbeat shot through his chest at Hirako's mention of Momo. Though he kept it to himself, he seriously hoped he would make her stay in Soul Society, though he knew that was less than likely.

Shunji's eyes swiveled to Hitsugaya as the fellow captain's heartbeat skyrocketed. "Keep a lease on Ashimitsu. I'll keep an eye for any tricks Sousuke tries to pull if Hinamori decides to come with me."

There was no verbal answer from the Tenth Squad captain. Only a silent nod.

At the confirmation, Shinji continued on his way again but paused, tilting his head at the genius captain once more. "You know, that kid has you wrong. Just because you wield ice doesn't mean you're ice where it counts." Without waiting an answer, the Vizord captain kicked off into a shunpo, leaving the area.

Juushiro sealed the room again as soon as the others had left and closed his eyes. Now Yumiko's plight was known to the captains. Would it help her or make her situation worse was something he did not know.

The Captain Commander met his eyes from across the room then moved aside from the commander's chair, still holding his eyes. "Take a seat, Juu-chan. No one will say it's a wrong thing for you to do, and you've had little sleep recently."

Juushiro chuckled wryly. "If you insist." The white-haired captain sat in Yama-jii's chair and put his head in his hands, displaying his worry for his apprentice now that the company was smaller. Shunsui set a hand on his shoulder. He smiled weakly.
"What did you want to discuss with only us?"

"I imagine it has something to do with the traitor in Seireitei, considering who is staying in the room," Byakuya noted quietly. He raised one elegant eyebrow. "If there is one," he added succintly.
