Riku growled and clenched the coin. He stomped one foot and grinded his teeth. "I don't want to know what kinds of things you do on your desk!" He looked down at the coin and chucked it at the lieutenant's retreating head. "And I don't need this! I have millions more! Besides, it was mine in the first place! You took it from my pouch!"
The lieutenant merely raised his hand and caught the coin. Once again, Riku growled. Who knew Captain Ashimitsu's lieutenant was so annoying? Still, he couldn't deny the lieutenant's skills. He was good. VERY good. And somehow his teasing cleared Riku's head. Riku sighed and bowed deeply.
"I'm going to be your subordinate one day soon, so please take care of me, Lieutenant Namori!"
The lieutenant just waved over his shoulder and disappeared into the crowd. Riku turned to walk back down the other side of the alleyway. He had just reached the bend when he got a hollow feeling in his gut. He froze in his tracks and quickly pulled his pouch out. He opened the drawstring and looked inside.
GONE.
"No.... He didn't!" Riku turned back around and shunpo'ed to the other end of the alley. "Give it back! It's mine!" Riku shouted and pushed through the crowd, his head almost turning 360 degrees to look for the lieutenant. But it was in vain. He wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Post by Lt. Nanao Ise on Dec 11, 2016 13:51:36 GMT -6
Shopping Date:
Nanao pushed up her glasses and looked around the commerce district with a critical eye. Flags waved in the breeze and vibrant awnings covered the various stands that stood beside the more permanent shops. A few carts for the lunch hour were starting to unload, too. The sight reminded Nanao of her usual purpose of wading into this area, not to buy another book, but to find a certain commander dodging work. Be it the Rukongai’s chaos or here, Shunsui would be surrounded by people in an already crowded area, and she would have to wade in to even get a handful of his haori.
But she didn’t do that anymore. Not now that he was gone. She sighed and rubbed her belly. And then looked over her shoulder.
No, today she had another job. Both in his name and because she was just stubborn enough to do it.
Nearby Yumiko was looking through an outside cart of books. Nanao had decided last week to drag her out here and find some other unfortunate souls for a day out. The young noble wasn't the only one who needed to get out of her head. And for some reason the boys she had invited couldn't say no. Nanao gave a sly smile. It wouldn't have anything to do with her pregnant state meaning she was prone to throwing Kido at people, now would it~?
Rangiku would also join her in her mission if she could get up. Then the plan could start.
Walking back over to Yumiko, Nanao joined her at the bookstand to wait as well. Patiently.
For now.

Yumiko looked over to Nanao with a small smile. “Sorry I’m coming.” She waved at the bookstand. “I was looking for books to read to my child.” She included the merchant with her next comment. “But they mostly have novels today. He said there might be more of a selection in the Rukongai, if I want to look there later.”
Nanao nodded. “Maybe later, if we’re not too tired or haven’t driven our escorts mad,” she mused. Then she adjusted her spectacles and gave the taller woman a stern look. “And why are you apologizing? You’re supposed to do what you want while we’re here.”
“I know that, Ise-san, but-”
Nanao set a finger against her lips, her eyes sparking with warning. “It’s Nanao, not Ise, Yumiko, and there are no buts. The whole purpose of this outing is to dispense with the doubts and worries.”
Yumiko chuckled and fiddled with the tie of her simple blue and silver kimono. “I suppose so,” she murmured. She spread her hand over her belly, feeling her little one kick and felt her heart clench. She didn’t want anything to happen to it. But she would still be giving it her name. And there was the war around them. Strength wasn’t always enough to protect someone. She shook her head as her child kicked probably in rebuke. “I’ll be glad when these hormones pass,” she admitted.

Nanao nodded. “Agreed there,” she confided to the younger woman. She placed her hands on her hips. “Where are they? Rangiku has a reason to be late, but I specifically told those men to be on time or there would be consequences.” Her shrewd eyes narrowed.
Yumiko ran a hand through her hair, which was pulled out of her face with a simple twist. “You don’t have to threaten them,” she murmured.
Nanao grinned deviously. “Oh yes, I did, or they would have come up with an excuse to not come.”
“That’s not a bad thing. We can manage.”
Nanao chuckled. “Maybe so, but we’re pregnant.” She pushed her bangs out of her eyes again. “It is our right to make the men carry things. And they should be happy to help.” She snapped her fingers. “There’s one now. Maybe I won’t burn their kimono.”
“Nanao-san!”
Nanao marched back into the middle of the road so she could not be missed and folded her arms. “You’re late.”

Walking the street looking for the women, Izuru finally saw Nanao standing in the middle of the road. His smile faded to a weaker one when he heard her tell him he was late and he saw the annoyed look of her face. His hand lifted rubbing the back of his neck as he walked toward her.
"Look, you might be on maternity leave, but we men still have jobs to do inside the Gotei. Plus, do you know how hard it is to get away from Captain Mutsu right now? Things are still on high alert with Soji-kun being taken, and now we have this string of abductions that are going on. Captain Kuchiki is on everyone's ass to find these guys since his future daughter is involved."
He stopped in front of her cupping her elbow in his hand and lead her out of the middle of the road. "Also. Just because your pregnant don't mean you can't be run down when you're standing in the middle of the street. Use your head, woman." Meanwhile: "Kitty Search":

Nanao huffed. “I’ll ignore that insinuation against my mind since you have presented a fitting excuse to be late this afternoon. However, I will have you know that I have maneuvered these streets quite frequently. I am not about to be run down now just because I’m pregnant. That’s an absurd inference. You know how crowded it is during the lunch hour in the middle of the week? If I can find what I am after in that atmosphere, then I should have no problem now."

Izuru sighed and stop once they were out of the street, Nanao was still as--No. Nanao was worse since she had gotten pregnant, and he was not the only one that would be glad once this child was born and no longer causing her hormones to make them dance around her more than normal.
He looked to Yumiko and bowed slightly to her. "Lady Ryouma," he greeted her then turned back to Nanao. "I don't care what you are looking for, or what you are trying to achieve." Izuru told her. "Stay out of the middle of the street."

Hisagi walked across the road, realizing the trouble that Izuru was about to get in, "Heeeeey!" He stopped beside Kira before setting a hand on his shoulder, "Don't get yourself killed, Izuru."
He chuckled as he saw Nanao's face, "Calm down, Miss Nanao, you know he didn't mean harm." His eyes then followed to Yumiko, "Hello Lady Ryouma." He bowed towards both women then smiled at his friend. "Just survive the day without questioning her ways and you'll survive her hormonal wrath."

As Nanao turned and adjusted her spectacles in lieu of apologizing, Yumiko laughed behind her hand. Turning, she accepted the bag of books from the merchant at the stand and then moved to join them. “Thank you for accepting her invitation, Shuuhei, Kira. I’ll try not to buy too many things.”
Hisagi chuckled at the women, "I needed to get my nose out of paperwork eventually. So getting fresh air doesn't seem so bad." He took a breath before looking at Yumiko, "Buy all you want. We can handle the weight." He bumped Kira and laughed.
"Yeah. Sure. What he said." Izuru mumbled as he combed his fingers through his hair. He looked across the road as he watched a group of Academy girls walking toward a shop giggling and laughing.
Yumiko looked in that same direction but something colorful distracted her. Turning around, she darted down the street towards a vendor with stuffed animals and picked up a quilted cat with a bell on his red collar. "It's adorable."

Nanao walked over to Hisagi. “Here,” she stated, holding out a bag. She let the heavy bag drop onto his arm “That’s for two things, one, bringing up work, and two, for setting yourself up.” When Hisagi raised an eyebrow at her, she cocked her own at him from behind her glasses. “There will be no tears or sighs today.”
Hisagi chuckled. “Or what, Nanao? You’ll throw a book-“ He halted realizing what he was holding.
Nanao grinned. “I just might, you know…” Her voice trailed away as she caught sight of a flashy kimono replacing another in a nearby window. It was the wrong color, purple instead of pink, but it was enough for her eyes to itch.
Huffing she turned on her heel and grabbed Hisagi, propelling in the opposite direction.

As he was being drug through the street, "Slow down, Nanao! You're gonna rip my arm off!" He growled to himself as he carried the bags of books and tried to keep up with this woman.
Before he realized that she stopped, he had kept going and had to stop within an inch of his life before slamming into another soul, "Oh my, I'm so sor-" He looked up to see who it was, in fact it was one of his friends. "I'm sorry Rangiku, I didn't mean to almost ram into you." He chuckled as he looked back at Nanao, "She decided to take me on a wild goose chase through the streets."
He shot a quick glare at her, even knowing that it wasn't the smartest play on his part.

Rangiku stood there with a bright smile across her lips, her hand resting to her stomach as it rubbed it slowly. "Hello Shuuhei. How have you been?"
Hisagi nodded with a wider smile as he looked on at the glowing Rangiku. For the first time of her out shopping her arms were not full of shopping bags. "Are you out shopping today to?"
Rangiku looked around him to Nanao and nodded slowly. "I was invited. So yes," she looked back to Hisagi. "But I already got everything I needed last month. So this is just like a fun little girls day out for me."

(Merged)Kotaro's eyes combed the street looking for their pretty little blonde as he shook his head. "I don't see her, but the street is packed." He stepped forward out of the alley with a quick gesture of his head at Kazue. "Come on. We get walking the street we will find out little kitten." Kazue followed as they both turned to their left and started a path down the walkway.

Kazue tried to keep a straight face as he kept his eyes open for their one girl, "Oh I can't wait. It feels like it has been ages." He popped his fingers and looked at the items that some people have been selling, "I kind of wish I brought some money too. Souvenirs are always nice."
Kotaro laughed at Kazue's comment about souvenirs. "Dude, we are not tourist." His eyes scanned the street for their girl as they walked along. When his eyes caught two Soul Reapers with a small group of pregnant women, he chuckled lightly. "Poor bastards." His head motioned their direction.
The ash blonde couldn't help but chuckle, "Oh the poor babies. Wonder what they did to get stuck there," He elbowed Kotaro, "I think they're just whipped!"

Hisagi smiled at Rangiku, "Well I hope it'll be fun. At least for you." As he said that, he looked at Nanao, "Though I'm sure it'll be fun for all of us."
Nanao gave him a genuine smile for that. "That's the spirit we're looking for." She took her book bag back and started towards Yumiko and Izuru near the stuffed animals.
Hisagi wiped his brow, chuckling at Nanao, "Thank you for taking those. But you really didn't have to. You might strain yourself." He followed Nanao and waved for Rangiku to follow, "May as well travel as a pack, right?"
