Tsukiro paused, thinking. Instead of telling her what kind of captain he saw in her, he told her what kind of captain he wanted to be. "I want to be the kind of captain who listens to his squad members, not just gives them orders. I want to have a one on one relationship with the majority of my subordinates, not just a captain-subordinate relationship. I want my squad members to feel like they can tell or ask me anything. Not be afraid of me. I may be Shihoin royalty, but I don't want them to see me for that. I want them to see me for me, not for my title and status."

"Fantastic. I'm happy for you. But, that response does not answer my question." She turned and started walking again. "Answer the question."

Tsukiro sighed. "You remind me of people like Byakuya Kuchiki, Soi Fon, and Shigekuni Yamamoto. That's the only way I can put it. I sense more strictness than compassion."

"And, this is a bad thing?" Ryo rested her hand on the hilt of her blade. "In the end, compassion will not save your life. Nor will it prepare you to take one. So, if you would rather send your mens into battles unprepared, fine."
Ryo drew her zanpakuto as she turned and slid it beneath Tsukiro's chin. "You would rather have a compassionate captain over a strict one. Prove to me now, why that is the better of the two."

Tsukiro didn't flinch or even blink. "I did not say I would not be strict. Strictness is part of the job, but it doesn't have to be the only part. And have you met the new Head Captain at all? He is compassionate, yet he will not hesitate to kill the enemy. Seems like a pretty good mix to me."

Ryo smiled and sheathed her zanpakuto. "Indeed he is. I asked you the last time, why you thought you were worthy of the position of Captain. I ask the same question. What makes you worthy to be called captain?"

Tsukiro looked down at the floor. "I don't think I am worthy of the title, but I know that now I am worthy of the job. The title will be something I earn."

Ryo smiled gently at Tsukiro as she placed a hand on Tsukiro's chest. "You have grown quite a bit in such a short time, Third Seat Ashimitsu. I dare even say I am proud of the progress you've made." She adjusted her haori, sliding her arms back into its sleeves. "I have a meeting with the Captain Commander. You will have my report in the morning." -END RP-

"Growth and Understanding" (Continued):Sajin slowly slid the door open, ducking beneath the frame of the door. His foot slid on the haori of his wife, who was sitting on the floor. Looking down at her, he sighed. "Sitting at your desk would be a wiser choice." Sajin reached up to his ear, pulling a few brown strands of hair. He knelt down beside her, nudging her gently.
"The Captain Commander has cast aside my order for your resignation, Ryo. He does, however, ask that you turn in your resignation the day that Captain Ukitake turns in his."

Ryo chuckled slightly as Sajin's comment. Sajin wiped away a falling tear, as she turned to face him. "I'm not being stubborn, Sajin. I just can't step down." She looked down at he Captain's haori draped over her lap. "I realize that my being a Captain could negatively impact my role as a mother. But, I love being a Captain as much as I love being a mother. Don't take that from me."

Sajin leaned forward and kissed Ryo on the cheek. "No one is taking that from you, Captain Komamura. You will have to see the Captain Commander to amend your role of Captain. We can not put you in a place that may jeopardizes your role as the mother of my children." Sajin pulled his wife into loving embrace.
"Please understand, Ryo. I did not order your resignation simply because I could as head of this family. I did it because I do not want to lose you. And, I am sure that Shunsui and Sakuma would not wish to lose their mother."

"I understand." whispered Ryo, tightening her arms around Sajin's neck as he stood. "I will speak with Shunsui later." She released him from her hold, as he pushed her up to rest on his shoulder. "But, we should return to the garden. I don't Juushiro can stand being alone with the twins for too much longer." Sajin rose to his feet, Ryo sitting on his shoulder and headed out of her office. Once outside of her office, Ryo slid from his shoulder and patted his hand. "Go on ahead. I need to walk alone. Think a bit." She smiled warmly, turning and walking the direction opposite of her husband. He headed back to their home. And, she went to be alone with her thoughts.

"Dawning Days": (continued) After going to see his Captain and taking her, her favorite flower's, Hisagi, with his left arm in a sling, walked into his office. Well…More like the Captain’s office, Captain Ryo Hirabayashi. It had been over a year since he had laid eyes on the office--Too long, far too long in his book. With a quick glance around at the destruction that the office had taken he shook his head. It was going to take a long while for them to rebuild, and even longer for the people to recover. So many were damaged more than just physically. Their mental state suffered even more than the buildings of the Gotei. While taking up space in the medical ward Hisagi was heartbroken by the whispers and two-faced comments he overheard about many of the ones that were held captive in Las Noches. Even a few whispers about their Captain Commander were floating around. Of course Gin, Vale and even poor Kita were right in the middle of the gossip. A few wanted their heads, some just to see them locked behind bars. Either way the whispers and talk were not getting better. With a heavy sigh Hisagi walked over to the desk and picked up a picture frame that was laying face down. He lifted it to see his Captain, her two children and husband, Captain Sajin Komamura. He smiled in spite of himself. They were so happy back then, back before Aizen’s takeover. His fingers brushed over the glass of the frame dusting away the thin layer of dirt. His smile grew wider as he looked up and around the office once more. “We can rebuild. People will heal and move on…” He looked back to the picture, “Things will get better. We are all strong individuals.” He sat the picture frame back to the desk, turned and got to work of picking things up so they could start the rebuilding of the Ninth Division. Fade

"Komamura":Ryo looked to Saburou who was sleeping soundly on makeshift bed in the corner of the room. He had tired himself out earlier than expected, so he laid down beneath his mother's haori and had fallen to sleep. A smile tugged on his soft features as he slept soundly. Sighing, Ryo returned to the neglected pile of paperwork on her desk. Her first task was to sort out the papers and put them back in order. Thanks to a certain two year old, they were knocked off her desk. "Captain Recommendation." read Ryo. "You go here." Ryo placed the paper on the left of her desk. She picked up another paper, when she heard a knock at her door. "Come in." The door slid open, revealing the large form of Captain Komamura. The Captain entered, sliding the door shut behind him. "Captain Hirabayashi.""Captain Komamura." a slight smile formed on her lips. Even after being separated for the passed three years, seeing him still brought a smile to her face. "What brings you by, today?"

"The very same reason I stopped by yesterday." replied Sajin. A toothy grin formed as he watched his fellow Captain blush at his reply. "And, I will continue to see you everyday, until I get what I want."
And, what would that be, Captain?" asked Ryo, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.
"You." admitted Sajin. "Three years has not changed my heart, Ryo." He turned his head, looking to the small Saburou. "Not even he can change my heart. He's melted it for sure." He chuckled. "But, nothing could ever turn me from you."
