“The Search”:The last few days had been rather lax since the death of the Commander and Captain Ukitake. Unlike the first week and a half where paperwork rolled through the Sixth Division from reports of eyewitnesses on their death and reports of issues with the members of the squads. It seemed everyone was handling this in their own way. Some just not as well as others, it was nothing for their division to be deployed out for an arrest of some sort and it always dwindled down to the cause being ‘remorse’. With their memorials well out of the way, things did start to calm, but not until they were well into their third week of being without the two captains’. Their memorials were beautiful and it seemed the entire Soul Society graced the gathering. Even the woman he was seeking that evening he had left the Fourth Division. Though with him being on duty as a guard at both memorials he did not have the time he wanted to speak to her. Nor would it have been appropriate to approach her at such an event. However, after all was said and done; he was able to find out a little more on the woman, which made it much easier for him to find her when he finally got the chance to approach her. And today was that day. He walked the Shopping District within the Seireitei walls finding the small Tea Shop she stopped at frequently to acquire her tea. He walked in looking around not seeing her in the shop, though as he turned, from the corner of his eyes his attention was caught by the raven haired beauty he sought for, for mean days. He smiled in triumph, straitening his haori and dusting any debris from his person he started his path toward the woman. She was sitting outside in the Shops courtyard enjoying her tea as she looked out on the garden nearby. He stepped through opened door and stepped toward her table. Stopped beside it he bowed to the woman. “Lady Tori, what a surprise to see you here.”

Saya looked the direction of the person addressing her. When she saw it was the young man she bumped into in the hall of the Sixth Division she smiled and bowed her head. "Fifth Seat Nagano. What a pleasant surprise."
She gestured to the empty seat at her table. "It must be nice to finally get out of your division for some fresh air." She lifted her hand as a waitress walked over to their table. "Could you get us another cup please?" The young lady nodded and walked away. "You will join me for a cup of tea won't you?"

"If you insist," Yorusuke smiled brightly at her, pulling his chair into the table. "Are you enjoying the weather?"
She nodded slowly as she took a sip of her tea.
Yorusuke looked upward into the sky. "It won't be much longer and our days will be colder like the nights." He looked to his left when the waitress stepped back up to the table with his cup. He nodded thanking her as he then reached for the teapot and pored himself a cup of hot tea. Lifting the cup he took in the aroma of the brew. The spice of the drink filling his senses and warming his body before he even took a sip.
He looked over his cup at the woman and smiled. "This is a tea that will surely keep you warm in the winter months." He took a sip letting the spices wash over his taste buds and warm his throat and body. "I can't believe I have never drunk a tea like this before. It's very good."

"Your Captain was rather surprised by it as well." Saya informed him.
A soft chuckle slipped from him. "Really? And here I thought that man was a connoisseur of teas.” He looked over his tea cup as he held it in his hands.
"I thought that of myself at one time until he sent me a package of tea's I had never tried before."

"Oh? So how long have you and my Captain been dating?" Yorusuke asked her.
Saya's eyes widened at his forwardness, but she quickly composed herself. Clearing her throat she took another sip of her tea casting her eyes to the table top as she heard him speak once more.
"Forgive my forwardness, my Lady. I just figured--"
"There is no need to apologize it is a honest question. However, it is an question I cannot answer. For Kuchiki-sama and myself are not dating."
Yorusuke hummed nodding his head. "So, forgive my forwardness once more, but if that is true. Then that means you are a free woman to date another?"

Her eyes widened again this time she was speechless as she looked on at him. He sat across from her with a confident smile across his lips as they made eyes contact. Many thoughts crossed her mind. Thoughts about him and thoughts about Byakuya.
"Can I get you some more tea, ma'am?"
Saya's thoughts were cut short as the waitress spoke to her. She looked away from the young man to the young woman standing next to their table. "Yes, please that would be nice." Her attention then turned back to the young man, Yorusuke, as the waitress walked away with her teapot.
"I am very discerning in my choice of men and you are a little young and reckless for me." She looked the direction of her waitress. "Why not that young lady?” Her head gestured toward her. “She seems more your age."

Yorusuke hummed as he looked the waitress' way. "True," he looked back at Saya reaching across the table he took her hand in his. His voice becoming smooth as velvet. "However, I like a more refined woman. A mature woman. A woman such as yourself." He lifted her hand and kissed the back of it.
"I could see you taming me, molding me into a man other men would envy, and other women would try taking from you to make me their own."

Saya pulled her hand back that he held so tenderly in his own. "Then maybe you should try finding a younger...noble woman."
"But that is my problem," he captured her hand again before she could pick up her tea cup. "I don't want a younger woman. As a matter of fact I don't want any other woman." He raised her hand to his lips again as he spoke. "I want you."
Saya pulled her hand from him once more and stood from her chair, a displeased look in her eyes. The boy was advancing far too quickly and stepping way over the boundaries that are placed between a woman and a man that knew nothing of one another. If he thought just because he was one of Byakuya's men that she would roll over and give into him, he was certainly mistaken in more ways than one.
"I think it is time I leave." She started on her way from the table. Her hands folded in front of her so he could not grab one. "I would say thank you for the pleasant conversation and company, but that would be a lie."

Yorusuke quickly stood catching her arm as she brushed past him, he gently turned her to look at him. "That was harsh of you to say. I meant no harm. I only wanted to get to know you. I am sorry I have taken such a liking to you, but I am the type of guy that goes after what he wants."
She pulled free of his hold and back up slightly from him.
"I won't hurt you."
"And I am not afraid of you." She told him with a tilt of her head.
"Then stay. I just want to get to know you better and all you want to do is tell me to look else where."

Returning to the area after a fruitless search, Byakuya entered the shop to find Saya standing with a frown, his fifth standing closely and whispering to her. Saya lifted her head, replying to something he had stated and Nagano made his declaration.
Byakuya crossed quickly to their table.
He bowed his head to Saya. “My aplogies, Lady Tori, for leaving you unattended for long. I believed Ryouma was closer than she was, but she must have been farther away. For she is no longer anywhere in the vicinity.” He looked to his officer.
“If you wish to court a noble, Nagano, you need to remember the boundaries implemented or risk being dismissed. And unfortunately for you, the lady already has an outing with me and cannot attend to your wishes.” He held out his arm to Saya, still watching Nagano.

Yorusuke stepped slowly back from Saya as he watched her arm link with his Captains when he offered her his arm. His eyes then pointedly on his Captain and shocked he appeared there, but kept it from showing on his face. It seemed by what he said to her, he was either on his way to see her or already there and left her sitting alone to chase after another. Then he made comment about courting a noble. He looked to Saya. Was she a noble? Of course she was or his captain would not have said so.
"Excuse me Captain. I did not know you two were meeting here. She invited me to sit with her. I guess while she waited on you." He emphasized.

His captain’s eyes narrowed slightly at his tone. “An invitation to sit with her and share tea does not mean that she will give her whole day to you or that she is not waiting for another. It is a moment of peace usually before something important." He paused. "It is also only the first step in an acquaintance."

Yorusuke chuckled as his fingers combed through his dark hair, his head nodding slowly as he looked down at the ground. He could not do battle of the wits with his captain without consequence. So he threw in the towel.
There was always another day, another time. He looked back up at Saya and bowed. "Thank you, my Lady. The conversation was pleasant and the company even more so."
He then looked to his Captain and smirked, he could not help himself.
"It's not nice to make a lady wait, Captain. Next time you may not get so lucky and have her when you finally do arrive to meet her." He turned and walked back into the shop leaving the two to their own doings.

The noble captain waited for his officer to depart the store before making a response. “Such is only a problem if your interactions are not enough to keep a lady faithful in your return,” he murmured. He looked down to Saya. “Or if there are unforeseen circumstances. Was he bothering you overmuch, Lady Tori?"
"My lord, I told you to call me Saya."
A slight smile lit his stern countenance. "I remember. And I will."
When the time is right.

A smile lite up her face as she looked at him and nodded. "He was becoming slightly overbearing. His advances strong and he did not know how to take a hint. I doubt he would have even understood the word 'no'." She patted his hand as the waitress walked up to the table sitting the teapot back in its place and two fresh cup to replace the dirty ones.
Saya looked to the woman. "Thank you very much.""I saw Captain Kuchiki enter while I was making fresh tea. I hope you do not mind, but I mixed a little extra mint in to help the Captain relax." She looked to Byakuya. "He seemed tense when he walked in and saw the gentlemen with you." Her hands folded in front of her as she smiled brightly watching Saya looked up at Byakuya. "The two of you remind me of my parents. I don't think I have ever seen a couple so happy with one another until I saw you two." She bowed to the two of them. "I am sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but when I see you two together in here it always makes me smile and think of my parents." For a moment, it seemed that Byakuya would reprimand the waitress but then he let out a breath and inclined his head. “Thank you. That was thoughtful and appreciated.” He waited for the girl to smile and leave before whispering something that only Saya could hear. “Perhaps there is no reason to continue to hide our wishes if people like her acknowledge it. But..” his eyes hardened again, “have you asked your family, Saya?” She turned and looked at him, a bright smile across her lips. "I have and it would seem their only issue with you is their fear of you taking over the--" Byakuya lifted a hand stopping her."We can talk more when you come over for dinner this evening. This is not the place to discuss such business." Saya nodded as he then turned her, leading her back over to the table. Helping her sit once more, he then walked over taking his seat. The two enjoying their tea before their day moved any further along.
