Rangiku nodded, "I understand, Tsukiro. But because of him she is still alive. Izuru said he protects her to the extent of his own life. I know its hard to swallow." Rangiku shook her head. "She is a strong woman. I could never do what she is doing. I would have broke within months of being there and having to endure what she has been through." Another sigh escaped her.
"I know Gin better than anyone person here. Well... I thought I did. That was until everything Izuru told me."

Tsukiro sighed. "I know. And that along with Kita's feelings for him are the only reasons why I won't kill him along with Aizen. If it weren't for Kita, I would rid the world of both of them at the same time." He sighed and shook his head. He started pulling bandages off, taking off his sling and tossing it aside. "I can't stay in the Fourth barracks any longer. I'll lose my mind. I've got better things to do than sit around in bed all day, waiting to recover."

She watched as Tsukiro ripped off his bandages. "Do you think--" she choked on her words hanging her head as she looked at her feet. "I know I said I moved on, but its hard to let go after so long. But do you think?" She looked back at him again. "He loves her?"
She started shaking her head as tears pooled in her eyes and she quickly looked away from him again. "He finally confessed that he loved me, but he cut all ties between us at the sametime." The tears now streaming down her cheeks. "I always thought that if someone truly love another they would be willing to change for that person, but I guess I was wrong. In more ways than I can count. I can't say I truly loved him either because I was not willing to change my ways for him. I could not follow him when he left and even though his first betrayal was in striking revenge for what Aizen had done to me, his second betrayal holds no merit. If he truly loved me. Why did he leave the second time? Why? Why didn't he stay with me. Together we could have defeated Aizen and gotten Kita and the others back."

Tsukiro froze and turned to Rangiku. She was crying. Over him. Yet another person Gin Ichimaru had hurt. Even worse, she was saying these things about herself. His eyes narrowed and he placed both hands on her shoulders, pulling her close to him. He looked down into her eyes. "Rangiku look at me." When she did he shook his head. "A woman should never, ever have to change to be with a man unless she has done something that's in the wrong. If he can't accept you the way you are, then forget him. You are perfect the way you are, Ran. Don't ever change for anyone. Not even if you love them to death. He was the one who should have changed. But he's still too blinded by revenge that he's forgotten the one reason why he wanted revenge. It's taken over him. Now he doesn't even care that it was you he was avenging. That's his fault, though. Not yours. You couldn't wake him up, but Kita did, and that's not your fault either. And since this is the case, then he probably never felt anything towards you other than the bonds of friendship and kindred spirits."
He looked down, taking his hands off of her shoulders. "I can't speak for what he thinks of Kita, but..." He looked back up at her, smiling at her. "Don't let his feelings, romantic or not, tear you apart like Kita's are tearing me apart. It's not healthy. And neither is revenge. I'm prime example number one. I came back from it... but.. Gin..." He shook his head again. "I don't know Ran. And I don't think either of us will. Maybe Kita will be the only one to ever understand him. I know I'm eating my own words instead of living them, but..." He took her by the arm and pulled her into a hug. "Just don't cry over him, okay? He's not worth it. He's not worth anyone's tears. Not even Kita's. Okay? Just be the happiest you can be without him. I'm positive that there are dozens and dozens of other men that would love to have you. And hopefully at least half of them are worthy of you."

Rangiku dried her tears. "They have been ripping me apart for centuries, Tsukiro. There just has never been the thought of another woman involved. I keep telling myself that its not the case. That he is still out seeking revenge, but I can't help but wonder now with what Izuru has told me. And how did she reach him when no one else could?"
She sniffled, "not even me. The woman he loves."

Tsukiro pulled back and cupped her face. "Look at me, Ran. It's not worth it. I know it's hard, but you have to let go. You're not going to gain anything from him. Nothing. All he cares about is himself. He can say he loves you or Kita or any woman in the world for that matter, but so long as he keeps acting the way he does, he will only care about himself because that's what his actions tell. Revenge is for our own sake, not the sake of those we're avenging. Yes, Aizen hurt you, but he's failed to realize that you're still here even after all that. Aizen got my mother and brother killed. I can't ever see them again. And if he can't realize that he's blessed because you did survive when you could have died, then he's too much of a fool for you. If he really loved you, he'd come back and be with you, regardless of what Aizen did. And Kita can pretty much get through to anyone, except for Aizen himself that is. She's got this way with people. It's not you, Rangiku. It's just Kita's talent. It doesn't have anything to do with their feelings or lack thereof. Okay?"

Rangiku nodded. "You're right. I just need to take this one step at a time and still move on. I can't take this anymore. I want a man that is going to be there for me and with me like a man and woman should be. If he comes back and finally stays for whatever reason we can be friends but nothing more." She shook her head as she dried another tear.
"I just can't take this anymore." She looked into Tsukiro's eyes. "I hope everything works out for the best for you and Kita when she returns."

Tsukiro smiled weakly. "I hope so too." He hugged her once more. "And I hope everything turns out alright for you too. Go find someone who's worthy of calling you their lover, okay? I've seen enough tears from women around me to last the rest of my life. I don't need one more." He smiled at her and patted her shoulder.

Rangiku smiled brightly. "I will." She returned his hug and parted from the embrace. "Thank you, Tsukiro." She leaned forward and kissed his cheek lightly. "I guess I should let get back to division four before they come looking for you and I am sure Hitsugaya is wondering where I am as well."
She smiled brightly at him again giving him a quick hug then turned and started on her way back to her own division. She then quickly stopped and turned looking at him once more and saluted Tsukiro. "Have a great day Captain Ashimitsu and don't forget we have a dinner date after you're assigned to your post."

Tsukiro let out a sigh that was half chuckle. As he waved to her he said to himself, "Nothing gets past her, does it?" Then he scratched the back of his head and made his way back to the Fourth barracks to pick up his belongings. "Hopefully she doesn't drag me around to her get togethers all the time. I'd rather not be responsible for her lack of diligence."
He speed walked back to the barracks, hoping that Captain Kotetsu hadn't noticed his disappearance.

"New Leaf":(continued) Walking up to the restaurant Tsum Tsum, Rangiku looked to Toshiro as they stopped in front of the establishment. "Wow! Someone really likes you Captain." Rangiku giggled softly.
However, she was the only one of them that found it funny. Toshiro just grimaced and proceed into the restaurant, Rangiku following in behind him.

Toshiro and Rangiku walked into the restaurant and was automatically seated in one of the private rooms. Toshiro opened his menu and looked through it. "You can get a drink if you want. I don't mind."
Rangiku shook her head. "Thank you, but no thank you Captain. I have quit. A cup of tea will do me fine."
Toshiro looked up at her with wide eyes. "You quit drinking? Permanently?" She nodded. He blinked. "So if I go through the whole barracks and search out all your old stashes and pour them out down the drain, you won't bat so much as an eye?"
"I already did that, but if you find one I missed feel free to do just that." Rangiku told him opening her menu and looking at her choices. "I have never ate here before. What do you recommend, Captain?"
Toshiro stared at her for a long while. So long she looked up at him, asking if he was okay. He only asked, "And no more sleeping on the job?"

Rangiku shook her head. "No more of the old me will you have to put up with. Well... Maybe the part of me still being a shopping nut, but that's just the women in me. You will have to learn to live with that one." She giggled with a bright smile.
"I have turned over a new leaf, Captain. It's time for me to get on with my life and stop waiting around for something that is never going to happen." She paused for a few seconds and nodded her head sternly. "Gin to be precise. It's high time that I open my eyes and see I am going nowhere and I am tired of that. I am tired of feeling sorry for myself. I want to be loved and have that love returned to me and know the man that loves me is not going to disappear on me when I turn my back for a few minutes."

Toshiro nodded, another smile gracing his lips. "I look forward to meeting the new and improved Rangiku Matsumoto." He looked back down at the menu. "As for your earlier question, I recommend their udon and their Chinese noodle soup. Their dumplings are also very good. However, their spring rolls aren't very good. I'd rather have my grandmother's spring rolls."
Rangiku nodded. "That sounds good. I will have that with a cup of tea." She closed her menu setting it to the table top. "So how are things going between you and Zuzu?"
Deciding to have the same, Toshiro closed his menu as well and folded his hands over each other, sighing. "I asked her to dinner tonight, but she had business to take care of." When Rangiku gave him a cheeky look he narrowed his eyes at her, blushing. "It was not a date! It was me being nice and repaying her for her hard work!"
"You want to repay her, make her Third seat in our division. It needs to be filled now that Tsukiro is being made a Captain." Rangiku told him with a shrug of her shoulders. "Just a thought."
Toshiro nodded. "Yes, that's true. I will talk it over with Hirako."

Rangiku smiled then turned her attention to the waitress when she walked up. She then casually looked to the Captain which then placed their order. Once the waitress left she started up the conversation again.
"So Hisagi told me he was working on getting his Bankai. I think he has a good chance of finally reaching his goal."
