Tsukiro looked to Kairo then looked down at the ground. "I saw Kita last night. She came to Kisuke needing help with her powers. She and I... We spent the night together." When he looked over to Kairo he had a huge grin on his face. He opened his mouth to speak but Tsukiro just rolled his eyes and put his hand over his mouth. "Shut up. You wanted me to talk so I'm talking."
He lowered his hand and looked over to the horizon again. "I realized something last night. I realized that if I keep waiting for something to happen, for her to come back, I'm going to go insane. I need to do something that will keep me busy and sane while I'm waiting. I trust her. I know she'll come back. But for now I can't dwell on what's going on with her. When she comes back, that's when I'll worry about her. For now... I know what path I have to take next."
He looked over at Kairo. "I'm going to claim command of the Stealth Force. I'm going to take the position from the Fon family and place it back within the Shihoin family."

Kairo's reply was immediate. "Well, it's about time," he stated.
As Tsukiro blinked, shocked, Kairo chuckled and stopped a vendor with takoyaki, buying two boxes. He handed one to his childhood friend, waiting for him to start eating. "Everyone knows you would claim it again, especially Soi Fon. It was only a matter of time." He stripped one ball off his own stick. "If you think she will be upset that the time has now come, or respect you any less," he took another bite, "you've been thinking with the other side of your brain for too long," he finished bluntly.

Tsukiro sighed and stuck his toothpick in one of the takoyaki, sticking it in his mouth. "Come on Kai. You know Soi Fon has jealousy and animosity from way back when that she's hiding. She worships Yoruichi. You can't tell me it's not going to stick at least a couple pins in her that Yoruichi's prized pupil is going to be taking her position from her." He shook his head. "Maybe it's time I start acting like a noble and start taking what should be rightfully mine. After all, if I was older and more experienced when Yoruichi and Kisuke left, you know I would have been next in line for the position."
He sighed once more and closed the lid on his box, saving the rest for when he actually had an appetite. "Still. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I will do it. That's what I've decided. I just have to psych myself up to it."

Kairo shook his head. "She has animosity towards certain people. If she had animosity towards everyone, the Commander Genryuusai would never have made her a captain, command of stealth force or not." He stabbed his toothpick at his friend's arm, chuckling when he warded it away. "Her animosity is directed in two directions, well two people, Yoruichi Sensei and Kisuke Urahara. They just left her, and you. Well, I stand corrected. There's Aizen, too, but many have reasons to hate him."
Tsukiro sighed and shook his head. "Only you could say his name without any anger in it at all. Is there a point in your profiling somewhere?"
Kairo's eyes narrowed slightly. "He didn't harm me directly, I guess." He smiled again. "Soi Fon doesn't detest or dislike you, Tsukiro. You're not the one who took Yoruichi from her and the Stealth Force. And you let her lead for a long time. I would wager that she's more grateful than anything, especially if you step out of this slump and return to the sharp, sassy," he ducked a swing at his head, "cold-hearted third seat we all know."

Tsukiro dug his fingers into Kairo's side then grinded his knuckles into his head. "I'm not cold-hearted! I'm guarded! There's a difference!" When Kairo tried to stick him with his toothpick again, Tsukiro grabbed it, snapped it and tossed the two halves. Kairo pouted at his takoyaki then glared at Tsukiro. Tsukiro ignored him. "But I guess you're right. At least I hope you're right. I'd hate for her to hate me like she hates Kisuke. He gets it BAD from her. Especially when she had Hachigen lock him in one of his kido boxes for a month."
He tucked his box underneath his arm and turned to Kairo. "You coming with me, or are you heading back to the Thirteenth?"

Kairo chuckled, running a hand through his mussed-up hair to set it to rights. "I have time to kill," he replied. He smirked. "Just enough to deal with two bull-headed," he ducked, "idiotis from old times," he called over, jumping backwards to avoid another swing. He adjusted the sack on his back. "Come on now, Tsuki, is that any way to repay a friend?~" he taunted.

"Repay you for what? Being a pain in the ass?" Tsukiro dodged a swing from Kairo this time, grinning. He lightly punched him in the arm, smiling. "Come on. Let's go get me a promotion."
Kairo nodded and hummed. "So what are you going to say to the rest of the Shihoin family?" Tsukiro groaned and Kairo laughed. "I'm sure you'll think of something."

"Thoughtful Walk":
Rangiku had just dropped off some of the finished paperwork at division one for the Commander. She was having another one of those days where her mind was flooded with thought. So instead of taking the south stairs back to her own division, she decided to take the long way around. There was nothing left to do back at division Ten. With Zuzu there helping things have been rather lax in the work area. She was quick and precise with her work, and given, Rangiku had been labeled a slacker; she was starting to come around to her true and needed potential. It was a long time coming, but she was clearly on her way to becoming the lieutenant that her Captain was needing.
Walking down the north stair her mind far from the Gotie 13, she stopped only a few stairs from the landing and sighed. She looked around the Seireitei with a heavy sigh. Looking to her right she saw their old third seat. He was all bandaged up. Well at least from the neck down, his left arm in a sling. She could not help but snicker quietly to herself. It was the first time she had ever seen him bandaged so much. She picked up her pace headed toward him. Once close enough to him she called out to him.
"Tsukiro? You look like someone drug you through a keyhole and back."

Tsukiro looked up at the sound of Rangiku's voice and walked over to her. After two long, agonizing days in the medical ward, he was finally allowed to get up and walk around, even outside the barracks. So he decided to go for a walk. He had been heading north from the barracks when he heard Rangiku calling after him.
"Rangiku. How've you been?"

Rangiku smiled brightly with a tilt of her head, "better then you it seems." She giggled softly. "We have missed you around Division Ten. How is everything going for you. Well..." she paused and looked at Tsukiro again. "Beside the beating you took from Captain Komamura a couple of days ago?"

Tsukiro cringed at the thought then scratched his cheek with his good hand. "So word got around that fast, huh? I'll bet Captain Hitsugaya was all, 'Maybe he's learned his lesson now.' Freaking frozen snowball." He sighed and turned back to her. "In any case, hopefully I'll be in on the next captains' meeting." A sudden thought entered his mind and he paled. "And if that's the case, then I'll be standing right next to said snowball."

Rangiku giggled again. "You two are too much alike. He will be proud of you for achieving this." She gently rested her hand to his shoulder. "If you do make it as Captain we will have to go out for dinner. You can bring Naomi along. I hear you two are hitting it off rather well."
The two then started walking once more. "Any plans for the future for you two?" She winked playfully at him.

Tsukiro made a face half like a smile and half like a grimace. "Well, no. Not besides hanging out as friends. The thing is, what happens in the future will decide what happens between us. I'm still waiting for Kita. But, the truth is, even if Kita and I don't work out when she returns and is back to her normal self, there's still another girl besides Naomi. I still have an obligation to Kaori. She has a part of me that will never find its way into anyone else's hands. Kita has always had the majority of my heart, but if she ends up handing it back to me, then Kaori will be the one my heart chooses."
He smiled down at the ground. "I like Naomi. I do. She's very beautiful and her personality is just as beautiful, but I don't think a relationship is in the cards for us. though I do feel like in another lifetime, maybe fate will bring us together again. But for now, I'm content with just being her friend and making her happy. She deserves happiness with all the things she's been through."

Rangiku nodded growing silent as she casted her eyes downward. "We all suffer some fate in the end." She looked up at Tsukiro again with a half smile. "I am finally trying to get my life together. After centuries of pining over Gin I have decided to let him go." She sighed and looked ahead of them. "I think its for the best. For both of us." She grew silent again with a heavy sigh.
"Though... I do dread if or when he may return. That is if he ever does. Izuru told me something about him and--" she stop in mid sentence and looked back at Tsukiro his eyes telling her to continue. "Kita," she looked ahead of them again. "She is changing him."

Tsukiro looked to Rangiku then turned away. "I don't give two shits about him. He can rot in a cell for the rest of his unnatural life when this is over for all I care. He stole Kita from me. Because of him I could lose her all over again when she gets back at last. And for that I won't ever forgive him."
It was only after the words were out that he realized they might have been insensitive to Rangiku. However, he couldn't find it in himself to care. He hated Gin so much. He was up there with Aizen.
