"Oh, get over yourselves," Riku growled to those who gave Shin the stink eye over his comment. "Who cares if Maki-chan is part of a noble family? Who cares if she's stronger than all of us put together? If that's the case, instead of being jealous about it, you children should look up to her for guidance and teaching! I don't want to hear another word about Maki-chan's family affiliation! It just doesn't matter! If any of you make her feel bad, you'll be answering to me, and that's a promise."
Riku's eyes were furious. Who did these people think they were? What right did they have to judge her based on her bloodline and affiliations? Their judgment made Riku's blood boil.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re nobility, half human, or common born,” Sojiro stated, coming back inside at the commotion. His eyes flickered to his aunt from where she was watching. Yumiko smiled slightly. “We all have our burdens and we all have different skills. Not one is better than another. So the nobility have privileges, but they’re stuck with a lot of rules. Also, Kuchiki may be nobility but the strongest captain is probably Zaraki who is from the Rukon.”

"Rousing speech there, Kid." said Etsuya, resting a hand on Sojiro's shoulder. "In times like these, more than ever, this is important stuff. But, being the son of Gin Ichimaru, I don't think that now is the time for this to come from you."
"What does my father have to do with anything?" grunted Sojiro.
"Everything, Soji." Kenji walked his way toward the table, a rabbit resting on his shoulder. "I'm an Urahara. I take flak for that. But, you. Just being the son of Gin Ichimaru has people swayed toward one way of thinking about you. And, that is that you are as evil a creature as he is."
Etsuya waved his hands, a weak smile on his face. "That's not what I think, honest. I was just...Sorry I brought it up."

Mitsuo chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. "We are all different. What the hell does it matter whose kid we are or what our origins are. How we were raised. How we look or other wise. We are all here for the same reason and as long as we all can pull together to make the reality we want come true." He paused and looked at the all the faces around him.
"I say more power to us!"

“I brought it up,” Soji continued, moving over to Kenji and patting Barnaby. He took a breath as the old bunny nibbled on his fingertip and squared his shoulders. “And I won’t apologize for speaking up. Even if I am Gin Ichimaru’s son, I am here to remain and I am not going to stay in the shadows. Or be a mouse and stay quiet.”
“Like a snake’s son could pretend that,” someone in the group murmured.
Riku spun around. “Who said that?”
“Snakes are symbols of good and evil. It’s prejudice that keeps them one way and prejudice and fear that keep differences as a barrier."

Finally walking up from speaking with the divisions Captain he wanted to join, Jiro completed the group of friends. He looked around at his group and smiled. What a group of friends he had acquired in the last two years, but it was a group he did not ever want to lose. A bright, wide smile crossed his lips as he looked on at all of them.
"Everything is closing down here and there is only two things left to do." They all looked at him with his pause. "What might that be, Jiro?" Mitsuo asked him. Jiro held up a hand as his pinky finger popped up and he counted their options. "Train," his ring finger then lifted next. "or go take a dip in the pond."
They all looked at him taking in their options. "Its hotter then Old man Yamamoto's Zanpakuto powers out there." He shrugged when they all gave him a 'like you know' look, "or at least that is what I heard. It might be our last chance to enjoy the warm weather. It is Fall after all."
The group looked around at one another and before another word was said they all turned and darted toward the exit to enjoy the rest of the day with their friends.
