Makino shrugged as she set her water bottle to the table as she lifted from the couch and went toward the door. "Who is it?"
"It's me Tori."
A female voice called from the other side of the door as Makino's eyebrows drew together in thought. The voice sounded familiar, but she could not place it, the energy was even familiar. Slowly she unlocked the door and opened it seeing none other then Ayako Ueno standing there.
Makino had a shocked look on her face and it was very clear to the person standing in front of her.
"Well hello to you to, Tori."
Makino shook her head to remove the shock of who had came to visit. "Ueno. What a... surprise? What brings you to my threshold?"

"We're shorthanded for the festival set up. A few of the girls that volunteered didn't show and I figured you'd be useful for once."
Allura looked at the girl at the door and raised an eyebrow, her face was familiar along with the name, but from what she could remember she had never directly spoken to her.
Ayako looked past Makino and saw Allura on the couch, "Oh look, you have Nakane with you. Looks like both of you could be useful then and can put forth some effort for a school event instead of causing trouble."
Allura sneered a bit at the way she said her last name and instantly remember the few times she had spoken with this girl, each of them unpleasant. She piped up from her spot, "I'm sure you have it covered."

Makino's arms crossed over her abdomen as she looked at Ueno. "If you think we are that worthless, why in the Gods names did you think of us to fill in?"
Ayakoa looked from Allura to Makino. "Because the others have no taste. At least you two won't have ugly stands or decorations."
"Hm..." Makino hummed as she looked to Allura. "I have a feeling this has something to do with money as well. Not just missing volunteers."
Ayako gave an uncomfortable giggle as she waved a loose wrist at the two. "No no not at all. The academy funds this. Why would we ask for money from an outsider?"
Makino looked from Allura to Ayako. "Because the Academy sets a budget on all activities and if you run out of money and we are wrapped up in this Festival you think we will run to our families and ask for help." Makino stepped up to her, "or could it be that you think if Byakuya-sama sees we need more funds he will pitch in and help with money?" Makino's head tilted, "hmm, which is it, Ayako?"

Allura stood and walked over, deciding to properly be part of the conversation. She tried to hide a smile as she listened to Ayako stumble over her words.
Ayako huffed softly and crossed her arms, "Okay, you caught me. It wasn't my idea though. One of the other members suggested we ask you to help because our funds are low."
"I can assure you I'm not going to my parents. But are the funds really the only reason?" Allura pushed her bangs from her face with a slight smile, "I'm sure you just want this excuse to talk to Sojiro while Makino is distracted."

Makino's brow raised as she looked at Ayako. "While the cats away the the mice will play?"
"N..nooo. I know Sojiro is fully wrapped up in you he would never." She backed away from the two girls bumping into the door causing her to jolt slightly and look behind her quickly.
Makino chuckled softly as she stepped in closer to her. "That statement just informed me of something that makes me want to hurt you, Ayako."
"What? WHAT?! I did not do anything. What did I do?"
"It seems you have already tried to make a move on Sojiro while I have been busy." Makino told her.
"I...I...well...I." Ayako stumbled on her words again.
Makino backed her into the door. "You what, Ayako?"
"He looked lonely and sad so I approached him." Ayako blurted out.
"And I am sure it was not as a friend." Makino chuckled as she stepped back from the girl shaking her head. "Baka! You're just striking out all over."

Allura couldn't help a soft laugh, "Maybe you should ease off, Makino. Poor girl looks like she's about to faint."
Ayako narrowed her eyes but only for a moment before looking away from the two, "S-so are you going to help or not?"
"You're brave. I give you that." Allura merely shrugged, "It's not like I have anything better to do."

Makino chuckle as well as she shook her head. "I have to ask my mentor before I can do anything."
"You mean Byakuya Kuchiki~" Ayako replied snidely as she looked pointedly at Makino. "Is he your mentor or your--"
Makino shoved Ayako back into the door as she stepped up in her face once more. She spoke to her in a low tone of voice. "Give me a tone like that again or speak disrespectfully of Captain Kuchiki again, and I will hurt you. You address him as Captain or Kuchkik-sama and nothing more."
Ayako nodded slowly as Makino stepped back once more and she looked to Allura a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Count me in I guess." She looked to Ayako once more. "But ground rules will be set and and if anyone in your group. Including you, steps over them. I will make sure you never do it again."

Allura watched as Ayako nodded, and Makino's intimidating energy instantly changed into a softer one as she smiled.
Makino smiled brightly at Ayakoa and stepped to the side, "Now come in so we can actually talk about the festival."
Ayako hesitated then quickly ducked past Makino, she waited until the girls were seated on the couch to take a seat in a chair across from them.
"What are the plans for the main part of the festival anyways? I've seen flyers everywhere but I didn't really pay attention."

Makino looked away from Allura when she finished speaking to Ayako as she hesitated then looked away from Makino to Allura.
"We want to make it a Masquerade." Ayako informed them. She then looked to Makino. "We thought we could do it with the funds we had, but we ran short about ten thousand."
Makino blinked as she looked to Ayako. "By the Gods! What all did you get?"
Ayakoa hung her head. "Not much if you want to know the truth."
Makino shook her head looking at Allura her head shook ever so slightly as Makino sighed. "Fine. I will talk to my mother. There is no promise on any of this, but I will see if she will give me the money to finish getting the festival together."
"Oh, thank you, Tori!" Ayako exclaimed as she bounced slightly in her seat.
"However," Makino added as Ayako looked at her through questioning eyes. "If she give me the money you are no longer in charge. I am."
"Now wait a minute!" Ayako exclaimed.
Makino shook her head. "Do you really think I am going to let you loose with my families money to do with as you please? If I can keep from spending that much and still have the festival look amazing I am going to do it. You on the other hand won't care because it is not your money, so you will spend it on anything." She paused. "Rule one. I will be in charge IF we get the money. Rule two. You and your friends will do as Allura and I say with no sass. Rule three. If one of your friends or you get so much as within a foot of Sojiro you will wish you were dead."

Ayako went to argue but fell silent as she saw the look not only from Makino but Allura as well and finally she sighed, "Fine. If that's what it takes to get your help."
"Also, whatever rumors you or your friends have started about Makino or any of our friends. Put an end to them." Allura smiled slightly at the surprised look Ayako gave her, "I have ears, Ueno. I'm surprised I'm not noticed in all honesty, but it works out for me in the end."
"I don't see how I could possibly end them. Once a rumor is started it can't be stopped."
"But our help can be. I don't care how you have to do it, they won't end completely, but an attempt to end them would be nice."
"You're an interesting girl, Nakane.. But alright. I'll see what I can do." It was obvious on Ayako's face that she was defeated and would go with whatever conditions to get the festival moving.

Makino paused for a moment to let the girl soak all this in. "Also, I am still not sure if Captain Kuchiki is going to allow this on my part."
Ayako got a pouting look on her face. "Please Tori. You have to convince him of this. We really need your help."
Makino chuckled, "you mean you need the help of my families money."
Ayako waved a carefree hand, "what's the difference?"
Makino grabbed her wrist and jerked her attention back to her as Ayako looked away. "There is a big difference, Ayako and it is about time you climb off your high horse and realize that. I am sick of your Holier than Thou bull. I know your family background. You came from nothing and you are nothing. At least compared to me and Allura. Now straighten your act up or you are going to dislike me for more than just taking Sojiro off the market."

Allura watched in silence as Ayako yanked her hand away from Makino and their eyes met in a glare.
Ayako rolled her wrist some and continued the glare in silence before turning her ahead the other way, "Whatever you say, Tori. Are you done with your demands?"
Allura looked to Makino again, she had nothing left to say on the matter and settled to stay quiet.

Makino sat up and shook her head when her looked went back to Ayako, Makino smiled brightly. "I think we are done." She stood from where she was sitting and walked toward the door. "I am going to dinner with my family tonight. I will talk to my mother and Captain Kuchiki then about all this and let you know of their decision. Remember there are no promises here."
Ayako nodded as she too stood and walked toward the door. She stopped in front of it waiting for Makino to either open it or move her hand so she could. When she looked to Makino she got a questioning look on her face. "What?" Ayako asked her.
"Did you forget something?"
Ayako turned and looked back at the couch shaking her head. "No," she looked back to Makino as Allura sighed and stood herself and faced them.
Allura's arms were crossed over her chest. "A thanks would be super."
Ayako sighed as she flipped her long hair over her shoulder. "I said thank you a few times."
Makino smirked and stepped toward her, "and for ten thousand yen you will be saying it a lot more."
Ayako sighed and bowed slowly. "Thank you, Tori-san, Nakane-san. I hope for good news."
Makino opened the door seeing Sojiro about to knock as he looked as surprise as Makino felt in seeing Ayako there. Makino waved him in as Ayako's eyes followed him in. Makino snapped her fingers in front of her face. "Feast your eyes on another man or I will close them for you. Now out." Makino pushed her out the door and closed it as she turned back to Sojiro and Allura.
"That was fun." Makino giggled.

"It definitely was." Allura stretched and made sure to pop her neck and then her back. She waved to Sojiro then looked back at Makino.
"It's always interesting when I hang out with you, Makino." She laughed, "At least it gives some excitement to my life."

Sojiro looked between the two friends and leaned against the door with a grin. “Do I want to know what your devious grins are for? Besides my girlfriend being a little possessive of me, that is.”
Makino giggled again, her violet eyes dancing, and put her hands on her hips. “Are you saying that you’re allowed to sweep me away from arch villains and gods, but I’m not allowed to chase away a mortal hussy or two?”
Sojiro shook his head and grabbed her wrist, pulling her to him. His grin changed to a smirk very similar to his father’s. “I didn’t say that,” he purred, before kissing her sweetly, mindful of their audience. “But I still say you were up to no good, Maki-Hachi.”
