Suisenro placed his hands on Makino's shoulders then pulled her into a hug. "I know it has been hard since your father died. The wounds are still fresh. But don't let grief push you down a path you may regret later." He pulled back and kissed her forehead. "Explore all other options first. Then, if it comes to it, fight fire with fire."
She returned his hug, wiping away her tears as she parted from the embrace. She smiled lightly at him with a small nod. "So what brings you out to the Academy. Do I dare say you missed me?" She giggled lightly.
Suisenro laughed and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Of course I missed you." They finished the tea and returned to the couch, setting their cups on the table. "There is something I wanted to tell you." He took a sip of tea and hummed in delight. "I came to give you a heads up. You know my sister. She's got a mind of her own. And as head of the clan, that gives her the power and authority to exercise that mind of hers."
Makino sighed her shoulders dropping slightly. "What has she went and gotten herself into now?"
"... Well ..." Suisenro scratched his cheek. "... She's enrolled in the Academy ... She starts Monday...."

Makino's eyes widened. "Well that makes up my mind." She sighed heavily and set her hands in her lap as she looked down at them. "What got her in this groove and do you think she will cut it?" She looked up quickly a rushed tone in her voice.
"I don't mean that the way it came out. I know she can cut it in the way of talent and power, but with her attitude the instructors might tie her up and lock her in a closet somewhere." Makino could not help but chuckle at the vision that popped into her head with what she said.

Suisenro laughed. "Oh she'll do fine. She might irritate the instructors, but she won't do anything they can use against her. As for why she's doing this, I think she wants to keep an eye on you. Now that people know who you are, she wants to make sure you're safe and that others aren't using that knowledge against you. Physically or mentally."
He took a large gulp of his tea and set the cup and saucer down. "Suigetsu likes to do things herself when she can get away with it. Her methods of leading the Koriyama clan may be unorthodox, but the way she leads us is the reason our clan has made it through the last two decades."

Makino face palmed, her eyes closed. "Its only been two days. Is there anyone that don't know this bit of information." She looked at Suisenro. "Noble's have big mouths and need to find a life. There are better things to talk about then someones else's mess ups."
She sighed falling silent, her eyes to her lap again. "Fulfilling my duties as her protector might be a little hard in here, but I will do my best." She looked up at him once more. "I promise. I will let no harm come to your sister the head of the Koriyama Clan."

Suisenro choked on his tea and coughed. He turned his head and coughed into his fist. "Excuse me," he said as he calmed down. Then he laughed. "I don't mean to sound rude, but do you really think my sister needs protecting? I know it's your family's job to protect us, but honestly. Suigetsu-neesama can take care of herself. It's not her I'm worried about." He patted her hand, smiling. "But I thank you for your concern for her."
He finished off his tea and set the empty cup down. "Suigetsu-neesama is the kind of person that likes to feel needed. She needs to protect her loved ones, and she's worried about you. It wouldn't be enough for her to just assign guards to you. Also, she understands that would be embarrassing for you. So to her, the next best thing would be to come here herself."

"But it is my job to protect her. Not the other way around. It don't matter how strong she is. It's my job to protect your family." Makino retorted as she shook her head madly. "You can't take over a century and a half of training and just make it stop."
Suisenro patted her hand again. "I know. That's what makes it hard to try and protect my sister," he chuckled. "Although, I'm sure you both can come to an agreement to protect each other. She may be stubborn, but she is still a great listener."
Makino sighed again. "No matter what we do my cover will be broken. With the students I really don't care. Its the instructors and the Captain's I wanted to keep it hid from. I don't want to be placed in a higher standing than the others or used as an example. And I know they will do this. I have seen it with the other two nobles enrolled here."

"I'm sure Suigetsu-neesama will figure something out. If anyone can get them to treat you indifferently, it's her," Suisenro encouraged her. "Don't worry. Everything will work out in the end. I'm sure of it."
Makino nodded slowly. "I know she will, but it will be her heritage that makes them listen. Not because she is right or wrong in her statements."
"Maybe so, but she also has ways of making people listen to her for many more reasons than just her heritage. After all, she isn't of the Koriyama blood. Suigetsu-neesama may be mine and my twin sister, Suirenko's, older sister, but she is adopted. We came after she was adopted and were named after her. Suigetsu-neesama isn't who she is because of blood. She is who she is because of her talents, her skills and her hard work. And you are the same."

Makino smiled still nodding slowly. "We will make the best of this and make it work. This is my last year anyway and I am going to the administration office Monday morning and changing my name to what I was born into. Masanobu."
"Good for you." Suisenro said to her.
She looked to his empty tea cup sitting to the table. "Would you like some more tea or do you have to be on your way?" Her voice was a little saddened as where her eyes hoping he could stay a little longer, but she knew he had others things he needed to do as well she was not his first and foremost concern or duty.

Suisenro patted her head and kissed her cheek. "Unfortunately I have to go, but don't worry. I'll check in on you from time to time. And if you ever need to talk or just want to spend some time together, just send for me and I'll be here quicker than you can say 'Bankai.'" Makino giggled and hugged him tightly. "Thank you for coming Ren-sama."He hugged her back just as tightly. "Anytime, Maki-chan." Suisenro assisted her in clearing the dishes and left after many more hugs. Makino returned to her reading, her spirits in a much higher state after their talk.

"Coming of the Moon": (continued) In her room, Makino was doing a little cleaning up. There was nothing really better for her to do but train and at this point in the game she was not really up to it. Too much had went on in the last few days and she just wanted to be alone in thought. After all it was Sunday and the next day would be rather busy for her. She was going to pay a visit to the administration office first thing and take care of adding her father’s last name to her enrollment papers. Along with talking to them about taking on a few more advanced classes. She figured Ayasegawa’s advanced Zanjutsu class, an advanced Hoho class and Captain Ukitake’s class would be enough to get her through the day and give her a full schedule. As it stood she was only taking the norm of advanced classes to get her through the year and that was not why she signed up for a second year.
Finishing the main area of the room, Makino moved to her room next. As soon as she stepped in the room and over to the bed she heard the door close in the main room and a loud thud against the floor.

Suigetsu dropped her bags just inside the doorway and raised her arms, stretching and arching her back. “Wow that was a long walk! Maki-chan are you in here!?”
She spotted the fridge and hopped over her bags and trotted over to it. She opened it up and scanned its contents. “Man, I’m starving!”
For now, she spotted a pitcher of lemonade and settled on that. She grabbed the pitcher and set it on the counter. She moved to the cabinets and opened each one until she found what she was looking for. Finding a glass, she filled it with lemonade and downed the entire thing, sighing in relief when she finally stopped to breathe.
“Maaakiii~” She called again, pouring more lemonade and walking through the dorm room, pitcher in one hand and glass in the other.

Makino stepped from the room into the hall as Suigetsu appeared at the end of it. “Suigetsu-sama.” She bowed to her as she looked down the hallway at her. When Makino stood she blinked a few times seeing her stand there giving her a look, one of her eyebrows raised.
“Uh-is there. Something wrong, Suigetsu-sama?”

Suigetsu handed the pitcher and glass to Makino and then flicked her on the forehead. “Baka. How many times do I have to tell you to call me Suigetsu? It’s bad enough my own siblings call me ‘neesama.’ I hate that stuffy honorific.” She took the pitcher and glass back, filling the glass up again.
Makino blinked again. “But…”
“NO BUTS!” Suigetsu barked at her.

Her head shook quickly and her eyes closed. “Yes buts!” Her tone a little raised. “I can’t do that. Do you know how much trouble that could get me into? Especially with Kuchiki-sama. He would have my head on a silver platter.”
She sighed and cast her eyes down her tone dropping. “I am sure he already sees me as a huge dishonor to my family.”

Suigetsu blinked then narrowed her eyes and growled. Her hand clenched around the glass. “That damn Kuchiki! I outta crack his skull like a walnut! How dare he scold you!? It’s not HIS CLAN your family is loyal to!”
The glass creaked and Suigetsu released her tight grip before she cracked the glass. She sighed. “I really don’t like that man. He needs to get over himself. It could be my Rukongai roots talking, but…” She shook her head. “I won’t stand for anyone making a mockery of you and your family. Not even a noble!”
