Makino’s eyes were wide through her entire rant. When she fell silent Makino shook her head.
“Let not start a war between the Nobles, Suigetsu. That’s the last thing we need. I am sure he meant well. He is not that bad. Really. He’s not.”

Suigetsu sighed and gave a slight smirk. “Nah. I’m not interested in another war. Especially a civil one. I’m just overprotective.” She made her way back to the kitchen to put the lemonade back and place her glass in the sink. “Besides, if I started a war over pride, I’d get my ass kicked out of the clan so quick you’d think they thought I carried the plague.”

Makino chuckled softly following her to the kitchen. “Have you had dinner?” She looked around the kitchen. “If you haven’t we will have to go to the canteen to eat. In keeping a low profile I had to cut back on how much money I kept on my person.”
She sighed softly. "Makes it hard to make it through the week sometimes."

“Fine with me,” Suigetsu patted her stomach. She grinned at Makino. “I’m always hungry. You know that. And don't worry about trying to make it through the week. You got me now.” She skipped over to the door and opened it, hopping over the threshold. “What are we waiting for? To the canteen!” She pointed in a random direction and disappeared down the hall.

Makino sighed stepping out the door in hearing Suigetsu’s cry for food. “Well... one… Its the other way." Suigetsu spun around repeating herself, "to the canteen!" and she passed the doorway going the other direction. She turned and looked at Suigetsu’s bags still in the middle of the room. Makino shook her head. “And we need to put your things in your room.” Looking down the hall she noticed Suigetsu was gone from sight, she sighed again and followed off behind her after she closed and locked the door to the dorm room.
“This is going to be a long year. I can already see it.”Moved

"Lecture of the Wise": It was about an hour after Makino awoke, her head still ached and her pride ached even worse. After sending Mitsuo on his way back to his classes Makino was up moving around she had made tea waiting for the second half of this day to finally be over. Mitsuo had told her of the conversation he and Captain Ukitake had after she was knocked out. She knew she was in trouble. Deep trouble. She would not blame them for kicking her out of the academy. She don't know what came over her. When she saw the woman believed to have killed her father something inside of her snapped.
Why? She is usually so calm, collected, but since that day, since her father was killed her temper and emotions were easily stirred. She did not like it. She did not like being like this, it was a weight she could not bare and one she wanted to be rid of. She truly believed if she found her fathers killer and if they talked, augured or even fought, she would finally find that peace again. But today only made that burden heavier to bare. Why? Why was this so hard?
Pushing her cup of tea aside she folded her arms on the table top and rested her her to them with a heavy sigh as her tears started to fall freely. "I miss you so much daddy."

Juushiro had considered leaving Tori-san a day to cool down but discarded that decision after trying to sit at his desk to do some paperwork. Her screams kept echoing in his ears. Along with other such memories of what loss had nearly robbed him of. He sighed. There was nothing for it. Such chaotic rage needed to be dealt with as soon as it appeared before it destroyed her. Or someone important to her. Someone would not always be there to save them. Mind made up, he had pulled his stationary out. After sending a missive asking to see a couple others later in the evening, he penned a letter to Tori's mother, giving it to Rukia to deliver to the Koriyama household before leaving again for the academy.
After all, he may be considered one of the enemy now. Chuckling quietly, his smile faded and he knocked. He hoped this wouldn’t be as unpleasant as the young woman feared.
His mind turned to the end of the letter he had written to Lady Masunobu.
… .I apologize for bringing this to your attention, both as a wife grieving for a husband and a mother proud of her independent daughter, but I feel it is necessary to address this attack personally. I do not wish for any more pain to grow from this incident and its source. I do not want to lose a promising life for the sake of the past. Please join me at your daughter’s dorm so you will be there as I discuss this with your daughter during the evening meal.

Saya shook her head as she left the home to proceed to the Academy. It was not far, but walking there would take her a good twenty minutes at least. This would give her the chance to think things through before she got there. She got the letter promptly after it was delivered to the Koriyama manor, giving her plenty of time to prepared for the dinner at her daughters, with the Captain of the thirteenth Division, Juushiro Ukitake. She was worried of what might come about with this letter from the captain. Her daughter was heartbroken at the lose of her father and vowed to find the person responsible for this act and bring them to justice, but to attack them on campus. What went on to cause this?
Before Saya had realized it she had arrived at the Academy, her daughters dorm building sitting in front of her. She took a deep breath and pushed forward. She did not think she was late, but she did not want to risk it risk it either. She stepped up to the door and knocked softly.

Makino answered the door after a deep breath her head lowering when she saw it was her mother. The captain mentioned she was on her way when she greeted him just seconds before, but she had hoped it would be Sugietsu or Suisenro Koriyama that would come because her mother was too busy. However, this was not the fact.
Makino started to weep silently as she lowered herself to her knees before her mother. "I am sorry mother. I have disgraced the Masanobu name. Father would be displeased with me in how I handled this situation. I am so sorry."
Tears fell to her lap as her head still hung, her mothers hand then gently rested to the top of her head.
Saya bowed her head to the Captain as he walked up behind her daughter, "Captain Ukitake I presume. I am Saya Masanobu, Makino's mother." She looked down at her daughter. "Stand Maki-chan. Your mother can not enter if you remain in the entryway."
Makino wiped her eyes and stood slowly in silence. She could not look at either her mother or the Captain. She felt bad for what had happened and wanted to make a mends, but at this point she was not sure if that were possible. She closed the door behind her mother after she entered and the group of three proceeded to the main room.

Juushiro sighed, greatly disliking the keen disappointment radiating from the young woman before him. “This would be one of the reasons I do not like this part of my personality,” he murmured, tone gentle. “Makino Tori, take a seat at the table with your mother. I am sure she has questions. I will prepare the tea and ask mine after hers. I also took the liberty to order dinner for us. It will arrive hopefully after this business is completed.” He set a hand on the young woman’s shoulders. “And do not lower your head if you find yourself to be unforgiving. I want you to be honest.” He nodded again to Lady Masanobu and then walked over to the kitchen.

Saya nodded taking a seat with her daughter. She sat next to her and took her hands in hers holding them gently in hers one of her hand then lifted as she brushed the hair from her face and an escaping tear from her cheek.
"What happen Maki-chan?"
Makino took a breath and looked at her mother. "We were in Kido class and the woman teaching the class was the one we heard about that killed father. At first I was alright, but the more she talked as the students started asking her questions the more a rage built inside me. She was talking about Kido at first then one of the students ask her if she really went with Aizen willingly because she hated her family."
"And what was her answer?" She asked her daughter quietly.

Makino's hand lifted wiping away a tear. "She said... 'He would have liked me to think that, but that is not the same as the truth.'." Makino shook her head. "What right does she had to take about truth when she can't take the blame for the people she killed. She should be behind bars." She looked over to Juushiro as he still worked silently on the tea, letting her and her mother talk.
She knew he was taking in everything she was saying and she knew for a fact the woman she blamed was his adopted daughter. So it did surprise her that he was not coming to her defense as she talked to her mother.
"What else happened Maki-chan?" Her mother ask pulling her attention from the Captain.
Makino looked to her mother once more. "I was going to leave. I was getting too angry. Something I did not want to do, but everyone started trying to stop me. Mitsuo first then Riku stepped in, then Mitsuo once more. They were making it worse, not better. I just wanted to get out of there. Then when she turned and told me her situation my rage grew greater." Makino's clenched fist slammed down on the table top.
"I DID NOT WANT TO HEAR HER LIFE STORY! I WANTED TO KNOW WHY SHE KILLED MY FATHER! SHE IS ONE OF US! WHY?!"
Makino fell silent for a few seconds a sniffle finally breaking the peacefulness as she shook her head. "I don't remember anything else after that."

Juushiro came over and set a teacup down before her. "Did your friend Hayashi tell you anything about what happened next?" He set another cup down by Lady Masanobu and then took another seat at the table.
Makino nodded with a heavy sigh. "He told me I threw him over my head and went to use a Horin on him. That's when you appeared and used Inemuri on me to knock me out." She looked to Juushiro with sincere eyes. "Thank you, because I truly don't remember throwing Mitsuo. To be honest. I can't even remember ever being this mad before."
Saya squeezed her daughters hand and looked to Juushiro. "Grief stricken more than anger would you not think so Captain Ukitake?"
Makino looked to her mother shaking her head, "Is that possible? Daddy has been dead for more that three years."
"But you were never in a situation where you were put side by side of his supposed killer," Juushiro explained. "Take a drink, Tori-san. Your eyes are watering and I will find myself loathe to scold you."
When she lifted her teacup, the captain continued. "Grief leaves an emptiness inside us. And what we fill that emptiness with is important. Until now, you would not allow yourself to be angry. So, when it hit, it overwhelmed and blinded you. Thankfully subconsciously, you did not reach to harm your friend. You wanted him out of the way. The methodical manner, though, spooked your friends."

"I did not want to hurt anyone. I just wanted to leave. That was all. They would not let me do that." Makino hung her head with another sigh. She then quickly lifted it as she spoke to Juushiro.
"I won't lie to you. I want your daughter to pay for what she did... or whoever did this. But unlike most. I don't want her or them dead."

Saya looked from her daughter to the captain. "Captain Ukitake if i may?" He nodded and Saya continued. "Most are not aware of what I am about to tell you, but the Masanobu does not kill unless it is absolutely necessary." She looked to her daughter lifting a hand she caressed her long dark hair.
"Makino has never killed." She looked back to the captain. "I myself have killed only one and that was to protect my own life. We believe in Justice and know not everyone is guilty until proven to be so. If my daughter is telling you she only wanted to leave she is telling the truth."
