Ryo nodded. "Things are going to change in this division, Third Seat Ayumu. And, I can not afford even one person to be distracted by anything outside of this division." Ryo folded her hands in her lap. "In truth, I differ greatly from previous Captains of the Ninth. I care nothing about the Seireitei Communications. That is why I left it in the hands of Lieutenant Shuuhei. But, even in his hands, it's proving to be a rather large pain in my ass."
Ryo sighed the turned over a page on the top of her desk. "First Shuuhei turns down what was essentially a promotion because of the communications. Now, my Third Seat in meddling where she shouldn't." She gave a sharp look to the young woman. "Who else have you managed to involve in all of this??"

Fuu’s expression grew serious as she looked directly at her captain. "Captain, I assure you, I’m not meddling where I don’t belong. Reporting on matters in our community is part of my responsibility, and my investigative skills were requested to assist with a dilemma facing one of the Four Noble Families."
She sat up straighter, her tone calm but firm. "I understand your concerns about the Seireitei Communications, and I know how much it means to Lieutenant Hisagi. He built it from the ground up, and it's a vital part of our community. Without it, the people would lose a key connection."
Fuu paused briefly before adding, "If you feel this strongly about its place within the Ninth Division, perhaps Lieutenant Hisagi should consider separating it from our division. After all, it’s here because the Ninth has always overseen the arts and culture of the Seireitei."
"I am aware of what my division has always overseen." Ryo's face reflected how annoyed she was at that moment. "And this is not the topic of this conversation. Now, answer my question. Who else have you involved?"
"No one else is involved—I’m the only one directly working with the noble family on this matter," Fuu replied, her tone steady. She hesitated for a moment before clarifying, "Well, others are investigating the same situation, but their work is separate from mine. They have no connection to what I’m doing with the family."

"So, Nagano is playing no part in this?" questioned Ryo. She inhaled deeply...and exhaled loudly. "As the head of a noble family, I am sure the Captain Kuchiki is annoyed with this...Whatever it is. And, that fills me to the brim with joy." Ryo's face did not hint at the joy she spoke of. Her expression was a mix of being annoyed and being deep in thought.
"But, for as giddy as this makes me, Third Seat Ayumu...I can not have you acting on such a thing on your own. You were out of line agreeing to such a task. The Koriyamas were out of line for asking such a thing of you. Nobles or not...Respecting the chain of command is a necessity. And, knowing fully what this task is, I would say that your safety is important. Do you agree?"

"Yorusuke is fulfilling his duties as a Fifth Seat of the Sixth Division," Fuu began, her voice measured and respectful. "We’ve already agreed that if I uncover any new information regarding the Robin Hood group, I’ll share it with him. But as for the investigation I’m conducting for the noble family, that responsibility lies with me and me alone."
She paused, choosing her next words carefully. "I understand I may have overstepped by agreeing to this on my own, Captain. And you're right—respecting the chain of command is crucial. I only took it on because I felt I could handle it quietly and efficiently. Just how the family wanted me to handle it, and my safety and the integrity of the division is in no way endangered."
Fuu sighed, meeting her captain’s gaze directly. "I apologize for the secrecy, Captain," she began, her tone soft but firm. "I was specifically asked not to discuss this investigation with anyone—not even Captain Kuchiki. He’s unaware of the entire situation."

"Ah...So, you're a member of the Koriyama family and not the Ninth Division?"
"No...I..."
"You must be." Ryo raised a hand. "As you are following their requests and orders. And, failing to include your own superiors...That's the only reason I can think of as to why you believe that a request from them would supersede anything going on under my command. Keep Captain Kuchiki in the dark, if that is the request of the Koriyamas. He does not lead this division. I do."

“With all due respect, ma’am, what exactly do you think I’m doing?” Fuu asked, a hint of frustration creeping into her voice. “You keep mentioning the Koriyamas as if they’re the noble family I’m assisting.” She kept her tone as respectful as possible, but her curiosity was undeniable. Was her captain fishing for information, or did she genuinely know more than she was letting on? "If you’re that certain they’re involved, then you must have some idea why they want this kept so secret."
Fuu's thoughts raced. If Captain Hirabayashi knew as much as she implied, why was she probing like this? Surely, she understood the dangers surrounding the situation. Her captain’s roundabout questioning was enough to make anyone wonder if Ryo knew too much—perhaps even enough to make her a target.
"Why would you ask me to reveal anything if you already believe what you’re suggesting?" Fuu asked, her voice quieter now, tinged with a trace of worry.
Just sitting here have this conversation is putting us both in danger. Fuu thought to herself.

Ryo smiled as she watched the concern grow in the young woman's face. She tried her best to hide it but it was fairly easy to read. "Third Seat Ayumu. Understand that I am coming from a place of concern. Even if I weren't, and considering you took on this task without my permission, you are in no position to inquire how much I know on the situation. I am phishing because I wanted to see how much you would be willing to tell me." Ryo sighed and folded her hand together on top of her desk.
"There is genuine concern to be had regarding your safety. And, you would be foolish if you continued without caution."

Fuu nodded respectfully. "Thank you for your concern, Captain. I understand the risks, and I assure you, I’m being very cautious. The family I’m working with has taken measures to ensure my safety at all times. My watchers are among the best, and they haven’t let me out of their sight."
She paused, her tone softening slightly. "I know this situation is unusual, but I’m not acting recklessly. I wouldn’t jeopardize my life—or my duty—without being certain I had the right support."

"And, that is where you are wrong. Whether you believe you had a right to say yes to this task or not...You didn't." Ryo rose to her feet, pausing her word as her Third Seat also stood. "Because of this decision, you can not fully dedicate yourself to your seat or your task. So, you are temporarily relieved of your duties here in the Ninth Division."
Ryo raised a hand as it looked as the young woman was going to protest. "That includes the Seireitei Communications." Ryo raised her hand again. "I don't want to hear anything in protest to my decision. It's done." Ryo sat down again with a sigh. "If anyone outside of this division asks, you are still operating under my orders. If, at any time, your safety becomes an issue, I will step in. If, at any time, this becomes too much for you to handle...Come to me. Agreed?"

Fuu’s jaw tightened at the captain’s words, the sudden relief of her duties stinging more than she wanted to admit. She opened her mouth to protest but quickly shut it as Ryo raised her hand. The dismissal stung, but deep down, she understood the reasoning behind it.
Taking a deep breath, Fuu straightened her posture and forced herself to meet her captain’s gaze. “I don’t like it, Captain, but I understand,” she said, her voice steady though a hint of reluctance lingered. “If stepping away from my duties means I can focus fully on this task and see it through, then so be it. It... might actually be for the best.”
She hesitated for a brief moment, then nodded. "Thank you for your offer of support, Captain. If things get out of hand, I’ll come to you. I promise. And if my safety is ever in question, I’ll reach out before it’s too late. Agreed."
Though she didn’t want to admit it, a small part of her felt relieved. Now, at least, she could give the Robin Hood investigation her undivided attention. She bowed to her captain. "Am I dismissed, Captain?"

Ryo sighed again. This one heavier than the rest. "I sincerely hope that you do understand." She rose from her seat. "This is, in no way, a mark against you, Ayumu. I want you to understand that as well." Ayumu nodded. "Then, you are dismissed." Ryo watched as Ayumu bowed and left her office. A moment later, she called for the Shinigami standing outside her door. "I need to see Lieutenant Shuuhei. Please let him know." "Yes ma'am." The Shinigami bowed and left. Another heavy sighed came from Ryo as she dropped down in her seat. "Be safe, Ayumu..." END RP "A Tall Order"

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: The ChaosEpisode 522 "Kagutsuchi and Susano-o": Suigetsu didn't venture into the Gotei barracks very often. Even when Suisenro was Captain of Ninth Division, whose office she was currently standing before, she only came to bug him maybe once or twice a week. And that was if she had time beyond all her duties. So when Suigetsu and Kin's lunch brought them close to Ninth Division, she wasted no time encouraging her fiance to head back to the manor after their lunch had been finished. Kin was hesitant, but she assured him that she had a small errand to run and would be back before he knew it. He didn't buy it. And she knew he didn't buy it. And he knew that she knew that he didn't buy it, but they silently agreed to both play along because whatever it was Suigetsu was planning on doing, Kin was sure he would hear about it later. Either from her or from someone else. His final words to her before he kissed her and went on his way were, "Just don't drown anyone." Did he really have that little faith in her? ... Okay, maybe she could be a bit impulsive. Or a lot impulsive. But she wasn't going to drown the Captain of the Ninth. Surely if they did have it out, Captain Hirabayashi would put up more of a fight than that. But she wasn't here to fight. Quite the opposite. She wanted a truce. She wanted assurance. And most importantly she wanted to size up the captain and see what exactly she knew. Just a bit. And so Suigetsu knocked on the captain's door, waiting patiently for an answer.

"Come in." Ryo called out from her desk. She was sorting through the paperwork on Ayumu's temporary dismissal and the appointment of someone in her stead. She lifted her head to see an unfamiliar face standing at her door. "Hello..." Ryo smiled then leaned back in her seat. "Am I correct in assuming you're of the Koriyama clan?"
The woman smiled but did nothing to acknowledge who she was.
Ryo rose to her feet and gave a bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I am quite busy. Are you here to talk about Ayumu?"

Suigetsu chuckled and placed her hands on her hips. She shook her head, not in denial, but in disappointment. "Straight to the point, huh? Well that's no fun~"
She moved closer to the captain's desk, stopping between the chairs in front of it. Suigetsu swiped her fingers across the very edge of the desk, the vivid memory of her brother sitting at this very desk entering her mind. "Well, you said you were busy, so I suppose entertaining myself by beating around the bush and playing coy will have to wait for another day." She looked up at Hirabayashi and smiled with a nod. "My name is Suigetsu Koriyama. Head of the Koriyama clan. And yes, I'm here about Fuu. She told me you dismissed her from her duties as Third Seat, and I came here for confirmation that that was true..."
Suigetsu glanced at the paper work on Hirabayashi's desk. "Though I suppose I have my answer, so I'll ask my next question... if I can spare a few minutes of your time? I won't take long." She tilted her head to the side, a physical gesture to match her question.

Ryo gestured for the woman to take a seat, as she sat back down behind her desk. "If you're here because you want to make sure that Ayumu will still have her seat when she is finished with your task, she does. But, Suigestu Koriyama, considering your own brother once held my position, you know very well the importance of rank and respect."
"I do," Suigetsu nodded slowly as she sat down and crossed one leg over the other. "But I also know that some things are more important than rank. And while I apologize for stepping over your head on this, I don't regret requesting Fuu's help with... matters. I'm sure you know how skilled she is at finding things out. Sometimes things that maybe shouldn't be found out. We reached a mutually beneficial agreement, and I seized the opportunity when it was presented. Not selfishly either. I didn't just do this for myself or my clan. Hopefully, you and I can come to an understanding."
Ryo raised a brow. "There is nothing so important involving a Third Seat that their Captain is to be ignored. Understand that temporarily relieving Ayumu of her position while she sorts this out for you, is me being nice. And, I don't care how skilled she is. There is nothing you or anyone else in your family can say that would justify ignoring rank. Even the gods know how upset us nobles get when we're left out of something...Nobility and all..." Ryo smiled. "It should be noted that if it happens again, I will involve Captain Kuchiki...And, it absolutely pains me to deal with that man. So, please don't make me do that."
