"Think of it as a promotion for the artists. If you get their artwork for free and it sells really well, that's more incentive to actually purchase the artwork next time. Same thing with the academy and the auction goers. If they find something they really like at the auction, that boosts the academy's reputation and they'll most likely return every time there's an auction because they know they'll find something good," Riku finished his ramen and sipped his iced tea, then leaned back on his arms.

"I doubt either of you will settle for anything else when you are in charge," Sojiro murmured, and then stole the last skewer of dumplings, savoring them with a smile. He smirked. “Hey, Maki-chan, how much merchandise do you think we need to acquire to satisfy the dragon amongst us as well as sell enough to save the festival?
Riku coughed on his iced tea and flushed before clearing his throat. “First of all,” he declared, “I am meticulous with my label of 'treasure,' and second of all, I would be paying for it, so we would still get the money we would otherwise receive from my chosen items.” He tossed his chopsticks at his smirking friend.
Sojiro chuckled and looked to Makino next. “How much of your mother’s art do you think will end up in Captain Kuchiki’s hand via the silent auction?”

Makino giggled softly. "Well with the way his eyes lit up when I mentioned it." She turned walking back toward them to clean off the table. "I would have to say more than his fair share." She placed the dirty dishes in the sink and the remaining food on the counter to be put away.
"Though, if he had his way it would all be his. At least the best pieces."
"Which I am sure is all of it." Riku chuckled finishing off his iced tea then rose to help finish clearing the table. Sojiro rose as well as the three finished the cleaning.
As they talked about the festival and their ideas, Sojiro and Makino did the dishes, Riku wrapped and put away the left over food. Between, Sojiro flirted and playfully splashed Makino with the water bumping and rubbing against her. However, Makino was not giving him the responses he was seeking as the three talked about the issues and hopeful outcome of the Fall Festival.

Before long, they had exhausted the topic of the festival and any way to exploit it or tease someone else. There were only so many ways to turn treasure hunting, protective fathers, and Sojiro’s own moment of shyness and arrogance into fun jokes. The hour was growing later, too. Sojiro had cast so many hints and reassurances in Makino’s way, but none of them were giving him the reaction he wanted. She was still smiling at him, but if she strayed in any romantic direction, she continued to pull away.
Finally, Makino gave them their share of the leftovers and bid them farewell, hugging Riku and kissing his own cheek. She seemed to want to do more, but just when Sojiro was sure she would let herself, she turned back to her dorm.
He sighed. The truth was that it was still bothering him as they walked towards the dorm.
“Riku, can you head back on your own? I need to go back inside and talk to Makino.” He looked to his best friend. “I may not have the answer for her yet, but I’m uncomfortable leaving it alone.”
Something passed in Riku’s eyes, and Sojiro reminded himself to get his friend to talk more about his present situation next time they got a moment.
Riku smiled. “You don’t need to worry about me. I can tell when it’s important, and this is one of those times.” His smile grew. “Just be yourself. That’s who she fell for. And honest. The rest will follow through.”
Sojiro nodded. “Thank you, Riku-kun. I’ll tell you what happened afterwards.” He turned around and headed back towards the girls’ dorms.

After the boys had gone Makino headed to her room to get ready for bed, but after she was in her robe and her bed ready for her, she could not remember if she locked the door or not. With a sigh and combing her finger through her long hair she had hanging down in her face from removing her combs, she turned and walked over to the bedroom door, heading back out to the main room to check and see if it were locked. She mumbled under her breath.
"I just want to go to bed. Today has been so busy, and trying to keep my hands off that boyfriend of mine with his action tonight was killing me. There has to be an easier way."

“But I don’t want that,” a voice murmured ahead of her. As Makino halted in between the hallway and the main room, Sojiro finished letting himself in and closed the door. He locked it. “Remember to lock it behind me when I leave, Maki-Hachi.”
Sojiro walked slowly towards his girlfriend, his eyes drinking in the sight of her. Wrapped in white silk robe that highlighted her curves and her skin tone, her hair let down and spilling down her shoulder, her glistening lips parted and eyes halfway between disbelief and intense joy, she was a splendid sight.
Reaching her side, Sojiro placed a hand on the wall as the other slid to her face, sliding up into her hair and pulling her forward. His violet eyes burned through her. “Don’t run.”
Not giving her another moment to protest, Sojiro pulled Makino into his arms, kissing her as thoroughly as he had been wishing to the entire night. Her body melted in his arms and she released a sigh against his throat. He took a breath, kissed her again, gentler this time, and then held her closely.
“Makino, dearest, I don’t like this. I don’t want you to pull away from me or for you to shut down whenever you want to touch, kiss, or tell me something romantic. It’s one of the reasons I fell for you. You drew me to you, and you opened my eyes to much more. Please don’t hide yourself from me now. Don’t frown or look away. Don’t feel sad. I don’t want that.”
“I want - I want you to stay the way you are. I need that."

Makino giggled softly as he let the tip of his nose caress up her neck, his warm breath against her skin as a tingle rose up her spine. "But I don't want you to feel like you are being forced." Her eyes closed as she shook her head. "That's not the right word." She sighed inwardly as a soft moan suddenly escaped her as Sojiro kissed a trail along her collar bone.
"Makino, if you hadn't kissed me in the courtyard that day, where would we be?" He wrapped his arms around her waist. "I don't regret anything. Neither should you. And if I really didn't want something, I would have stopped. Kissing. Or touching you. Have I?"
"No, but that is only because of the heat of the moment. I am tempting you to do this and it is wrong on my part to do that to you if you're not ready." Another low moan escaped her as he pulled her into him more holding her close. Through her thin robe she could feel the heat of his hands on her body as he let them glide from her back to her thighs, and it was driving her over the edge for him.
"Sojiro. Please..." Her hands clenched at his back in his haori.

Sojiro took a harsh breath and pulled back, taking a step back and holding at arm’s length, both to restrain himself as asked and to help her remain on her feet. Her dark, passion-filled eyes lifted to him, her cheeks flushed and lips red from their kissing. She looked so radiant. And he came to a decision.
He turned her around and let her lean against the wall, keeping his hands beside her to keep her close to him. After a couple breaths, he spoke up again. “But you’re hurting, and I won’t allow that.” She opened her mouth to protest and he placed his finger against her lips. “If you won’t seek me out, Makino Hachidori Masanobu, then I will do the work.” His other hand lowered to her waist once more, his eyes swirling between azure and violet, torn between pride and a dawning peace. “I will be your temptation, Maki-Hachi.” Lowering his finger, he kissed her again.
Until I can give you the answer. And free us both.

Makino returned his kiss with all the pent up passion she had been holding back with him for the night. When they parted from the kiss she let her forehead rest against his. "I want you, I won't lie to you about that. But I never thought you would give me a second glance with you being..." she fell short. "With us being who we are, and when you did. When you returned the same feelings I was overwhelmed with different thoughts, joy and emotions. Maybe..."
"Maybe what?" Sojiro asked her as his hand cupped her cheek.
She looked into his beautiful violet eyes as they glimmered in the dim light of the hall. "Maybe, I have let my crush for you get carried too far off. I am acting too swiftly and rushing you into something you're not sure of." She drew back slightly a tear trickling down her cheek. "I don't want to lose you over something like this. When I have finally won you over after two years of only dreaming of this day."

“Maki, darling, please stop,” Sojiro murmured, wiping the tear away and kissing both of her eyelids. He set his forehead against her own. “If anyone is going to lose someone, it’s because the other has fallen for another. And right now, I can’t think of kissing any other but you let alone other things. You are the only other person to know as much about my history and my fate as you do besides Riku. You’re the only woman I want to meet my family. I’m not letting you go, unless you ask me to. I told you that when we kissed in courtyard in the trees, and I am saying it again.”
He pulled back and reached into his kimono, pulling out something from a hidden chest pocket. Taking her hand and folding it up, he placed the item into her hand. It was a corded necklace tied to a fox mask amulet with blue stones in the eyes. “I couldn’t find something for you yesterday, but I want you to believe in us. For now, take this. My father had it created to prove his worth to me. Perhaps it can do the same for us. For me.”

She opened her hand and looked down at the small mask that look like a foxes head. It's eyes glistened as brightly as Sojiro's. "Its beautiful," she looked up in to his eyes once more. "I will take special care of it. I promise."
She took it from her palm with her other hand, undoing the clasp and lifting it to put it around her neck. Sojiro helping her as she moved her hair and turned so he could clasp it into place where he wanted to see it. She turned as her fingers fondled the small mask now hanging around her neck.
"Thank you, but you did not have to do this. I know you care and in time the words will come. I just have to be patient." She kissed him tenderly as she wrapped her arms around his torso.

Sojiro kissed her back before replying. "Being patient is one thing, Maki-Hachi, but denying yourself to a point that it hurts or saddens you, is another.” He set his forehead against hers again. “Please tell me you will find a balance and not hide away completely."
"I am sure if I can find a way out of the mess as I did with the festival, and find the peace I lost from those men that harassed me and Allura." She grinned slyly at Sojiro as she pressed her body tighter against his. "I can find new ways to tempt you and not get carried away." She gave his lips a quick peck. "Unless you insist that I get carried away that is."
Sojiro smirked and tangled his fingers in her hair. "There's my girlfriend." He gave her another quick kiss. "Sleep well, Maki-Hachi. I enjoyed tonight." He caressed her waist. "But next time, lock the door before changing into even more beautiful outfits."

Makino's cheeks flushed slightly as she followed along beside him, hand in hand, to the door. With a deep tender kiss good night they parted ways until the next day. Makino closing and locking it behind him. She then leaned against the door, her fingertips moving to the necklace now around her neck. She smiled warmly as she fondled it tenderly a warm feeling entering her heart and soul as she thought of the man she just kissed goodnight.
Pushing up off the door she walked toward her bedroom once more to turn in for the night. At least one part of the night was settled without more stress to hang over her, and she was pleased with that. Because what she told him was true.
She did not want to loss him over something like this after finally turning his head to notice her like she always hoped he would. She entered her room closing that door as well, making her way to her bed. She curled up with her pillow and blanket and fell into a sweet loving dream of the man she hoped one day would be her husband.~END RP~ "Her Husband":

"Finishing Touches":Time flew past and before Makino knew it, it was a new week. She and Sojiro had been spending the evenings together since their first night cuddle together in his bed, and they were behaving, that’s what shocked her the most. Though, if it was not his and Riku’s dorm room they were stay at, it was hers they were finding themselves waking to in the morning. Though, most times it was her dorm room, since they did not want to disturb Riku in his studies. However, the times they did stay at Sojiro and Riku’s they all studied together or were laying out the plans for the Fall Festival.
Riku had some amazing ideas for the auction and how he wanted to present it to the crowd. Makino and Allura were very impressed and could not help but giggled at him a few times when he would start to ramble on about it. She started to believe he was more excited about this than she or Allura was, but it did not matter who was more of anything. They were having a great time setting it up and that was all that mattered. Even Sojiro found himself getting sucked in from time to time to help out with ideas. After talking longer and realizing how much they had to do, they all decided it was best to hang a sign-up sheet in the main lounge of each dorm building for volunteers on the festival set up and tear down. There was too much to do for just the three of them. In just a couple of days, they were shocked to see the amount of volunteers. They had more than enough and then some. Even a few of the Gotei members signed it. How they found out about the sign-up sheet was beyond them, but they were happy for the help no matter where it was coming from. The more hands the better and faster it would go.
As Makino sat at the kitchen table after classes she drew up a lay out of how they wanted festival tents and stands to be set up. Where they needed to be for the best turnover for the product, and best placing for food stands so aromas that did not mix well, would not make an area a smelly mess. She placed the restrooms as far away as she could without making them an inconvenience for the ones using them or an inconvenience for everyone that did not want to smell them. She even had to consider the fireworks stand. They wanted it in a good location, but not some place it could put them in danger if some foolish person was irresponsible with their smoking of even their fireworks. After all that, she started on the game stands and tents. There were water games, hoop games, lottery games, and a few games Makino had no idea what they were because Sojiro had seen and played them in the human realm. There were also the kissing booths, one for the girls, and one for the boys. Makino giggled softly when her mind drifted back to that conversation as she sat back in her chair. As she sat there giggling a knock came to the door.
“It’s open!” She called out.
She was expecting three people that day, Riku, Allura and Sojiro who it might have been at that moment she was not sure.

Allura ran a hand through her hair then knocked on the door, not even a few seconds later she hard Makino and walked into the room with a smile on her face. "Hey there, Makino."
Though she wasn't one to show it much, the thought of the festival excited her and she was glad she was able to help out with the preparations. She walked over and looked at the set up map that Makino had out on the table and made a few assessments of things that should be added and maybe even switched around, but she decided it was best to wait until the other three got there so they could all discuss it together and come to a mutual understanding.
Her eyes mainly looked over the placing of the food stands and she laughed a little, "Good call on the set up with the food."
