Riku knocked three times then pranced in when he heard Makino's voice. Allura was already there and the two girls we're peering over a map of the layout for the Festival. "Evening girls!" He moved over to the table on the other side of Makino. "Looks like the layout is going good."
"Yup. What do you think?" Makino smiled up at him.
"I like it," he nodded. "Also, I think we should put resting areas away from loud areas like games and such. I don't think people will appreciate a headache when they're trying to rest and recuperate."

Makino lifted her pen and went to sketch out a few places for the rest areas, but the first place she put her pen down Riku shook his head. She lifted the pen to a different location, Riku shaking his head again.
"Think private. For a couple." Riku told her.
"Ahh~" Makino replied as she lifted the pen again and placed it in yet a new place. Riku nodded quickly then pointed at the map of the Festival grounds.
"One here and maybe another here." His finger moved again. "The fireworks are being shown off over here, right?"
Makino nodded. "Yeah, the Captain Commander said that is where they set them off every festival." She then looked to Allura as she sat down next to her. "Did you have a few things you wanted to add or think that needed moving?"

Allura looked at the map again then pointed to the games, "Since there will be quite a few people, maybe move games that are similar to a different area? Not too far off where they are out of place, just move them so one spot isn't too crowded and gives people a chance to actually enjoy them."
She looked over the map then pointed to a few different spots that also helped put space between a couple food stalls, "If we put a one or two in these spots we could help prevent lines from getting too long or mixing as well."
Makino nodded and made a few light sketches to see how well they would fit, "Anything else?"
Her eyes scanned it again and she shook her head, "Nothing that I could think of right now."

"Everything looks good to me," Riku nodded with a smile. "Have we finished organizing and labeling the items for the auction?"
Makino nodded as she bounced in her seat slightly. "Yes. Yes we did. After we all parted ways Sunday to go eat, Sojiro and I went back after dinner and finished tagging the last pieces. So that is done." Her finger lifted as she looked back to the map and slid a new piece of paper out from under the first mapping. "Now~ We get to play with a set up you will have fun with." She looked up at Riku. "We know how you want to run the auction, but how do you want it to look? I talked to the administration office today and they have given us access to the Event Hall here at the academy for the auction. So we can set up in there." Allura listened as the two talked and she nodded along to show she was paying attention, "My memory is kind of escaping me, but what kind of things are being auctioned off anyways?"
"Lots of different artwork. Paintings, drawings, stoneware, fabrics. We're having one for the general public and one for the nobles." He turned to Makino and grinned. "Speaking of nobles, have I got a show for them. There's no way they wont be impressed with what I have planned."

Makino moved to the side to look at Riku better as he stood behind her. "A show? What kind of show are you thinking Riku? Remember this is to sell the art not entertain them. The art we have will move them enough." She adjusted herself in her seat once more looking at the map layout that was still empty as she giggled softly.
"Hopefully, that movement will be right to their pockets to purchase the art work we have."

Riku laughed and shook his head. "No, not literally a show. I mean impress them through set up. No way I would plan a nobles' auction half assed. But don't worry. I stayed within budget."
He sat down as he began to explain his set up. "First off, since it's a fall festival, the decorations in both the auction hall and the gallery have to be fall colors. Gold, red, browns, mahogany, and oranges. Gold draperies for the windows would be really nice. And to accent the white table cloths, we can have red cloth napkins. As for all of the attendants' uniforms, a simple white kimono with red-orange accents will be good. Nothing too fancy or too boring."
After explaining all of the color schemes, Riku moved on to table and stage placements, drawing out where in each room tables, chairs, the bar and each piece of furniture would be placed so as not to make it too crowded and cluttered.

Makino looked to Riku, "You're looking for a big turn out with this being our first auction. You really think all that room is necessary?"
"Come on Maki-chan. I am sure by now all the Noble's in the area and then some know your mother, Saya Masanobu is dating Captain Byakuya Kuchiki. When word gets around that her art work is in this auction they will be coming for two reason. One to buy her work and the other to kiss up to both Captain Kuchiki and herself because they know Byakuya is not going to let it go cheap."
Allura shook her head as Riku rambled about Makino's mom and Captain Kuchiki. "And what do this have to do with auctioning off her art work?"
"Nothing at all." Riku chuckled making the girls sigh with a soft giggle and shake their heads.
"That's cool I think I get what you're saying. You're looking at a good turn out just because the others know Byakuya-sama is courting my mother. So because his name will be involved you think they will show just to save face with the Kuchiki clan." She looked at Riku. "Did I get that right?"

"Yup. Exactly," Riku nodded. "And while this time they'll show up because of Captain Kuchiki, when we make this time a time for them to remember, then that means they'll show up again and again. And the next time, they'll show up not because of who's here, but because of the auction itself."
Makino nodded slowly. "I get it." She looked to Allura. "Its a form of bait and trap. You bait them with the art and a pretty show and you have them hooked for later dates."
"If you do that we might be able to get away with doing Art Auctions for fund raisers instead of bake sales." Allura nodded quickly with wide eyes.
Makino giggled. "That's odd coming from you. You're a good cook."
"Cooking and baking are two very different things, Makino." Allura reminded her.
Riku laughed and nodded. "Very true. And if baking isn't your forte, we can find something new to do. Something more enjoyable than baking. Maybe a maid cafe?" Riku joked with a smirk.

Makino giggled softly. "Allura is a great cook and baker. I think she is just referring to having to bake so much." She looked to Allura as she nodded slowly.
"It is a lot of work." Makino added as she went back to the mapping. Then she turned the empty layout toward Riku and handed him the pen.
"Lets see what you got." She told him as he looked on at her then went to work explaining along the way.

Riku sketched notes on the side of his drawings of the auction hall and gallery room layout. "We'll group all of the work by category. All of the fabrics will go here in this area. Tapestries, embroideries and other large scale items will have to be hung carefully on the walls. Kimonos will be modeled by a few select girls and guys. Their heights and body types will have to match the kimono's measurements so that they fit properly. The kimonos that are too delicate to be worn will be displayed on T-shaped mannequins neatly here along this wall."
He pulled off a sticky note and stuck it to the middle of the page, scribbling on it. "All pottery, stoneware and glassware will be displayed on bookshelves and in cases here in the center. We'll cover the book cases with glass on either side so that no one can touch them. Sculptures and carvings will be placed along the perimeter of the pottery and stoneware section, since we don't have that many of them."
He scribbled on another section of the map. "Paintings will go on the wall adjacent to the tapestries. We'll also put in a false wall to make more hanging space. If need be, we can use eases to present some of them. And in the section next to that we'll have three bookshelves with all of our books, scrolls and manuscripts. We'll have one attendant per shelf there to present and open the items if anyone requests to see the inside of them. I'll pick which three attendants are assigned to that task. They'll have to be very careful with handling them. Can't have anyone with slippery hands fumbling with the reading materials."
Then he pointed to an empty corner of the map. "And finally, in this corner we'll be setting up a makeshift jewelry counter where three more attendants will be handling and showing all of our gems and jewels. The counter won't be anything overly fancy, but we'll make it look nice. I have all of the jewelry packed away neatly and organized in specific holding trays and cases. We'll have shelves and tables set up behind the counter to hold all of the items, but presented in a way that people can take a glance at them. Since we don't have the budget for a high end jewelry counter, we'll maintain a two foot distance between the counters and the patrons. That will give us some control over the area. I'm also placing two of our Gotei volunteers here since this is the section I'm most worried about. Being trained as a thief, this would be a prime target for me if I were setting my sights on this auction. I'm hoping no one is, but we can't be too careful. I can't even begin to tell you how much our entire collection is worth. Even I would have to dig into my wealth to pay for all of it."

Allura looked at how everything was mapped out, "This is really well organized." She smiled some and looked to Riku for a moment before looking back down, "Are the attendants going to transport everything to the stage for the auction?"
Riku nodded. "Yes. Along with one of the Gotei volunteers as escort, just in case. I've already picked out who, too. She's a capable young woman from Eleventh Squad. At first I was surprised she was from that Squad, but she's pretty tough and not as foul mannered as most people from that squad."
She laughed a little at the ending of the remark and nodded, "Alright, that was my only concern that the items would be well guarded while making it to the stage."

Makino nodded slowly as she looked at the layout. "So this means we need to hit the storage building again and do some shopping for fabrics. I think everything you need for the set up is in the storage building, but we need to make sure so if not we can pick up whats needed."
"Should we be putting out more expense? If this don't go well we will have lost money not made it." Allura tossed out there.
"Good point, Allura." Makino looked back at the layout. "Maybe we can see what we can borrow from others or maybe the Gotei might have some things they use for their get togethers." She looked at the two. "We will have to mark the borrowed things so we make sure they are not auctioned off or given to the wrong person when we are finished, but that will keep costs down."

Riku nodded. "I tried to plan everything using what we already had, so we shouldn't need anything extra. If we do and we can't borrow from anyone, we can use some fabrics that I have. I have plenty to spare. Also, I don't think this is going to be a flop. It's a great idea and we have an amazing spread of auction items. Plus with Captain Kuchiki and your mother coming, that will attract quite a crowd. So even if everyone buys one thing, we can make a decent profit off of it, and that's at the bare minimum."

"Well~" Makino started rather sluggishly. "Mom will be there, but..." the two looked at her in a confused manner. "Since this deal with the girls disappearing and the threat hanging over mine and Allura's head. Mom and my brothers will be patrolling along with a few others. I don't know if she will show during the auction or not."
"It's no doubt they'll be busy with that, but hopefully they can at least enjoy themselves a little." Allura thought for a moment then looked at Makino, "Speaking of parents. My mother and father are most likely going to be there, so you will get to meet them and I may end up getting dragged off to spend time with them and let them air out their worries about all of this."
"That's understandable." Makino looked solely at Allura. "They...don't know about what happen with us do they? I mean with those guys...and all."

Allura let out a soft laugh that didn't sound too cheery as an attempt to lighten the situation some, "Well apparently they were contacted not too long after it happened, since they have a right to know and I guess it was obvious I wasn't planning on saying anything. Then the abductions began popping up more and let's just say, my mother is wanting to pull me from the academy but thankfully my father is letting me stay."
She ran a hand through her hair then rested her head against her hand after setting her arm on the table, "So that will certainly be a conversation to try and get out of. Hopefully, they'll wait until after the festival though so I don't have to worry about it until then."
